Had the same rear-end problem after a bottle of Singleton once....hence the "tailfire" add-on (fierce) (skeptical) ;)

Still full price at my local Waitrose...

So that’s how you get the ‘Comedian Badge’.

Old Putney? Is that a Del Boy special?

I hope so, so do I Nearly finished my bottle of the 12 Yr old and dare not open the 17yr old have hidden away as I know I could afford to replace it!

Talisker 10 Year Old Malt Whisky - 70Cl - £30 Tesco

A whisky that needs little introduction and a pretty good price for the 10 year old. Next cheapest I can see at the moment is £37.84 at Amazon.

I buy this at Christmas from Tesco, always £25, my mum loves it

Decent price. Sometimes comes down to £25 on Amazon, but hasn't for a while. Probably cheapest at the moment!

Peaty and tasty

One of my faves this, i remember about 2 years ago it was being sold off cheap as at the time there were murmurs of it being discontinued in favour off their nas offerings, i remember snagging about 4 bottles at 19 quid each. Might be dearer now (as whisky is really fashionable these days) but im just glad its still around, heat from me <3 (y)

Two's not greedy. ;)

National deal for this exceptional Welsh whisky ( I am biased though) down from £37

I tried a Welsh Whiskey last year while on holiday there. It may have been this one. It was a cupful of liquid that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike whisky.

Very Nice whiskey for the price point - not sure why cold - I do prefer the lower percentage they made for the French market though

It’s actually really nice and at a good price, have some heat! Reminds me more of a Bourbon

U tried it?

Welsh whiskey. Bleurgh

No worries mate. Enjoy the drink! Bought 3 for myself.. (cheeky)

Just a quick note to say thank you for posting this, @SushiNinja ! I wouldn’t have thought to try it if it wasn’t for this post, but having a look at some people’s experience of it – and realising that it’s a pretty good price – I’ve decided to take a punt. I’m really looking forward to trying it this evening!

Hey Bob... they both the same.

Great price. Japanese whisky is pretty damn impressive. I was bought a bottle of the 18 year old yamazaki last year, didn't know much about it, and the snob in me wanted to dislike it. It was excellent. I'm going to have to try this one now.

Which is the one on offer? The green one or the white one? Suntory and Yamazaki was always £40 I thought? Not tried the white packaged one

indeed but its been a while since the 10 has been £25-£26. i purchased a bottle of this at £18 on clearance. it's okay (and not as bad as some think to me) but the 10 is much superior . spend the few quid extra and get either Quarter Cask or the 10. Just know what your buying though. Laphroiag's are one of the most peaty/smokey whiskies you can get. You will have a marmite type situation.

I completely agree. The 10yr is often around £28 to £30.

Pretty poor in comparison to the 10YO and Quarter Cask. The quarter cask is often reduced (had it for £26.90 recently) and IMO is in a different league to this.

Same price at Amazon for those who don't have a Tesco nearby.

It usually made from water from the Himalayas if you choose to go to India it will cost you about £3.50 a bottle

India has an up and coming reputation and it is good stuff.

Thanks for confirming availability elsewhere :) I wasn't aware of a Malt whisky from India - thought it might be of interest to someone!

Same ai The Meadows M&S in Camberley if anyone is interested. Looks to me like they are clearing out shelf space to move more into the Gin market, as it's the current hot potato.

I was asking as some of the previous comments seemed to be missing the fact that price might be the main point for posting.

A bit pointless as nearly all NAS's would be 3yrs and misleading unless they then list all of the others and the amount which would make it a bit silly.

The age statement on a bottle of whisky specifies the age of the youngest whisky contained in the blend. Given that they will use a younger base whisky as a filler and then use older stock to add complexity it is entirely possible for them to specify the age as the base whisky will generally remain constant.

They don't have to and shouldn't have to. Most NAS's are made up of varying aged whiskies so it's difficult to specify a certain age.

I didn't as I've lost my receipt and I know what everyone is like without proof ;)

Craigellachie 13 year single malt whisky £37.99 at Amazon lightning deal
Found 16th JulFound 16th Jul
Lightning deal £37.99. Previous low is £40 according to Camel Camel.

They describe it as a meaty taste...or sulphur...very distinct. Not unique to this distillery, but a very good example of it - comes from the use of worm tub condensers. Gotta say I like the retro label on the bottle too...

What's unique about it out of interest

Taste like fire water waste of money

Sainsburys are not noted for good deals on whisky. Personal preference, of course, but I added Tullibardine Sauternes to my "never buy again" list. It's too sweet for my palate though the standard Tullibardine does hit the right notes.

Had it before. Wasn't impressed, unfortunately.

Selling at the moment for £20 in my local Lidl. It's OK at that price. All whisky now costs minimum £14 in Scotland so this is quite a sweet price spot. I don't buy into the no age statement snobbery but some are quite adulterated it would seem.

Quite a nice whisky but regularly this price . But worth a punt.

It's ok, but not really setting the world alight. Was this price for ages in Co-op. Either spend more on a decent age statemented whisky, or spend significantly less on one of the critically acclaimed whiskies from somewhere like Aldi or Lidl.

Highland Park 12 year old malt whisky 70cl £25 @ Amazon Also £25 at Sainsbury's and Waitrose

£22 in Morrison’s Bellshill

Highland Park is most definitely not a peaty whisky, you want a peaty whisky at this price you go with Laphroaig Select or Talisker Skye. Highland Park has just a hint of peat smoke to it, it's a wonderful all-rounder that anyone can get into. One of the best single malts for beginners imo.

that depends, if you like a peaty Scotch whisky, Highland Park, if you like a better than normal JD, American Whiskey, then JD single barrel

Highland Park 12 year old or JD Single barrel ?

Also the " in every supermarket and behind every bar" 12 year old is usually £25 somewhere , so how this has a RRP that high heaven knows. The 12 is a solid enough buy, I'd personally stick with that over this.

That's a very expensive tin/box!

What is the size of this bottle

totally agree, you're just paying for the packaging with this one and being conned into thinking you're getting a bargain due to overly inflated RRP

Bit of a gimmick from Glenfiddich. Young, chill-filtered, coloured and 40%. Massively over-priced at RRP, even at £35 you'd be better opting for the 15 year old (£32 at Sainsburys and Waitrose atm).

Excellent price for this. Picked a bottle up from Tesco this morning .

Heat. Decent dram for this money.

Can't understand why this isn't flaming hot! Surely the lowest price it's ever been! Picked up three bottles (1 me and 2 for gifts...ok maybe 2 for me and 1 as a gift) this evening, bargain!

Same price in Leeds for the last month.

Great price for a great whisky, but only for costco :/

This is the same in the Birmingham CostCo as well I think (a friend bought a bottle at that price for his Brother two weeks back) so I would assume it's nationwide. I wasn't sure whether that was the standard CostCo price or a sale price so never bothered to post it here.

Slightly better than the standard Costco price. I assume they're doing the £3 off instant saving that happens every now and then. Its a good price.

Standard Costco price. Wholesale v retail.

Fair enough. I'll amend for next time

Bang on except the penultimate bit. I personally think it's a deliciously smooth malt and well worth 25 notes - but not more.

Very nice drop. Better than the Bowmore 1.

laphroaig will be a far stronger taste than this. up to you what you prefer though.

This or the Laphroaig Quarter Cask? Tricky. Probably the QC, but would be interesting to try this one.
