Muc-Off bicycle cleaning and maintaining products £2.99 @ Aldi
LocalLocalFound 12th JunFound 12th Jun
They were cheapest I could find at 3.99 and just been in store they've knocked off extra quid. if u looking for cheaper then Poundland has a different brand cheaper.

Poundlland version I think is much more aggressive, you can dilute it further or just be quick using it but Muck off is safer if you have an extra fancy bike. Also fenwicks concentrate is very good as good as muck off but you have to dilute it yourself but can work out much cheaper.

I've been on the lookout for that for a while, but none of the local ones have had it in. Not sure if it's just my local stores or if they've stopped doing it. Even when they did, stock around here was even more intermittent than Aldi/Lidl and that's saying something.

Poundland 'no more dirty bike' for £1 is great stuff. Works just like the bigger brands. Bigger bottle too.

1 liter for £4.99 from haldfords...

Which is short for could have. The original point is that it is none of your business what I post or don't post. I have things in my life other than Hot UK Deals.

Or could’ve but hey let’s not deflect away from the original point

It’s could have, not could of......just saying.

The old cliches are going to come out about posting that deal at the time and time machines........

Why's that ??

If you use GT85 as a frame polish, you hate your bike, simple as that.

Thought this was a make up remover. Was a tad confused by the bike though!!

Also seen it in Aldi (y) Edit, great Find Op HEAT

Muc-Off Urban Chain Degreaser - 50p instore @ ASDA (Kings Hill)

Got 5 at 50p thanks. Cleaned them out. One of them went through at £7 so left that one :o

The point you have missed is after cleaning the chain of OLD DIRTY oil . Then you apply new clean fresh oil. Fresh oil helps for a smooth gear change and less wear and tear. The gears and chain ECT on my bike cost over £500 . A new chain can be £30+ so looking after your transmission is vital. But I only use fenwicks it's a much better product.

Lots of people intensively clean the chain before applying new oil to it. People even soak the whole chain in a solvent solution for a day or so, then do the same thing in container of oil. Not sure why, but it's widespread, so there must be a reason. For 50p it's a bargain, but at full price, the muc-off stuff is a joke.

Sorry, whats this for :/ Why would you want to degrease your chain, i thought the idea was to keep it oiled....! Would be good for cleaning the engine though if its a degreaser (party) voted hot ;)

I’m only going to go to a local Asda from now on. Too much of a risk otherwise. Can’t believe you’ve spent all that money. Ironically, I bet you stink too after travelling round for two days. What a catastrophic error of judgement. You live and learn.

Right.. Big problems. I tried to pay the £70 into your account, but Lloyds tells me that the sort code is not recognised. Knowing that you live in Edinburgh, I have spent 2 days trawling around the banks trying to find your account. I have been into 37 different branches. None recognised the sort code. I've used £104 worth of petrol, £27 of parking charges, £110 for an overnight hotel stay and £37.50 on food and refreshments The 62p product has now cost me £279.12 and you £73. Lesson learned. Do not post local deals.

Account number 43623890 Sort code 46-34-11 Cheers fella. Feel a bit guilty myself accepting. Just send me £70. Don’t worry about the £3. Heat!

I feel guilty now that you've had a wasted journey. Post your bank details and I'll transfer you the petrol money.

That’s great but I’m already back. None left. Cost me £73 in petrol. What a waste of my time and money. Cold!

2 x MUC-OFF NANO TECH BIKE CLEANER 5L - get 1 free £26.95 @ Tweeks cycles
Found 25th FebFound 25th Feb
tweekscycles have this amazing offer on their website. Buy 1 5L MUC-OFF and get a second one for free **PLEASE ADD 1 TO YOUR BASKET TO RECEIVE 2 x 5 LITRE BOTTLES**

Had my mtb since 2011. Looks brand new except for a few marks left by stone chippings. As long as the contact time with the soap is left to a minimum you have nothing to worry about. Likewise with the degreaser.

no they carn't be bought in generic form, you pay for quality and get quality... if you want to use soapy water / washing up liquid knock yourself out. and enjoy the rust from all that salt,

well to be honest it depends on the value of your bike and how much you love your bike. all car shampoo has high levels of salt and also wax. so it will attack your frame and the wax in the soap will cover your disk breaks and cause you hell. again depends on if you have a cheap £300 bike or a £2500 bike (like me) i look after my bike well and service it and on the trail it looks after me.

I just use citrus degreaser for the drivetrain and soapy water for the rest. Simple really. Most if not all bike specific products can be bought in generic forms at about a tenth of the price.

Fenwicks / muc off all much of a muchness tbh. I use Costco car shampoo on my mountain bikes, have done for years works a treat and it's cheap. Keep a fenwicks fs10 trigger spray for really claggy drivetrains. Heat added.

I picked up the wilko scented degreaser before and found that it was rubbish. No comments on the other stuff as i haven't used it.

Yes but they spray does smell nice :D

I suggest doing some research before just deciding that GT-85 is an effective lubricant, it's an absolute rookie mistake. Oh, and here you go: It's exactly because the cheap stuff is like washing up liquid that you shouldn't use it.

It's because it contains teflon. I soak the chain in lube of choice, wipe dry, then spray a coating of GT85 on. The way i figured, the teflon coating would make it better resistant to water. And stop chatting balls yourself. The bike wash stuff has been shown to work by the company who produces it. The "nanoparticle" guff is marketing nonsense. It does the same job as most other cleaners you can get your hands on...including washing up liquid. It's just it costs a whole load more.

I just mean, anyone spraying GT-85 on their chain doesn't understand what they're doing, they're just doing the standard 'it's lube right? So I just spray it everywhere?' when what they're actually doing is breaking down the lubricant with the solvent in GT-85. So lubing and then GT-85ing is a bit of a silly thing to do. MO products are overpriced but good. I wait for bargains but I do have the majority of the bike range. The bike wash stuff has been shown to work much better than cheap alternatives, that's definitely the pick of the bunch. The rest is fine but no better than most. The bike polish and bike spray aren't exactly the revolutionary products they make out to be, but again if you can get them cheap they're fine.

I've not used the pedal bike one, but the motorbike ones are really handy. Only thing I'll say is that after a few uses, the bristles do start getting soft and they arnt as effective.

Ebay had some of these (or something very similar).... much much cheaper too ! Certainly worked for my bikes. If only I could get something for the creaky knees !

choices choices ... so many choices,,, me personally I use good bucket and wash. muc off , fs1, snow foam , suppose they all do the job,, however hopefully this post fits the bill for a muc off fan..

make your own cleaner using petrol water washing up liquid just a s good if not better than this horrendously expensive stuff and no it will not explode unless you us it like a ****

I second this advice.

or you could buy Fenwicks FS1 Cleaner Concentrate, its 1Ltr that you diluted with 10 parts water. so this makes 10 Liters. its also very good as a degreaser if you dont dilute it. its much better than muc-off. and its better quality & value a 1Ltr of Fenwicks FS1 Concentrate costs around £9.99, but that makes 10 Liters.
