The berry ones were for sure, gave me very impressive 'scents' (lol) However, I switched to the peanut ones and they were far better - gutted they've been discontinued tbh 😔

watsbacker

The worst ones were the old Hike Aldi protein bars. Don’t think they sell them anymore but they were terrible for the bowels!

taiko

i tried new email and same name and addy , might have to try diff email, name, payment details etc.

Yeah its commom knowledge at my gym. Used to rule it off as excessive protein consumption but it was the bars.

As part of the help out to eat out you can get grenade bars for £1.10 Monday to wednesday. Great value, I bought all 3. Please note, cappuccino not included in price
Sophie_Fulton

Sorry yes typo it’s mon-wed - eat out to help out xx

gizzygoo

Monday- Friday? Is this the case in costa or should Fri say Wed? Thanks

Jordan_Taylor

But a outright bar tastes outright delicious, outright healthy, outright goodness :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Sophie_Fulton

Totally agree with you but you can buy the bar too and put it in your bag, no one is policing weather or not people actually eat it in or not! :) just like all the frostinos are always served in take out cups weather you are eating in or out so if someone was to say they are eating in they could get the discount then just leave and no one would shout “oy! You’ve got to drink that in the shop mate!” It’s an odd set of rules at he moment xx

Great deal, received today. 12 Tough Mudder and selection pack. After 4 months with no cake, chocolate or biscuits and only Peanut & Date bars the Mudder was a tasty treat. Look forward to trying the other flavours.

Pinkgymbunny

The birthday cake ones are really tasty! Shame they don't give you 5 of those (cheeky)

Littlepink

I've done this before but didn't like any of the bars, i didn't find them anywhere as nice as the grenade ones

Samlghughes

Thankyou, ordered mine with a £15 box of 12 smart bars, so 17 bars for £15 inc shipping!

adamg64

No idea but i had the same issue i just added a single bar to my basket and it worked then cost a little extra £11.87 for the 1kg whey iso and 1 bar plus the 5 free bars still a good deal :)

waynezendo

Nope i think they all taste like my uncles a$$

gruntoryginal

Yup, absolutely horrible taste, rather go for battle bites, protein bars for 1.19 each and as mbch stated above battle oats for 89p are brill too

waynezendo

Horrible taste had to throw 4 bars straight away yuks

MBCH

The battle oats ones for 89p (70g) are awesome (cherry bakewell) - this is a good price OP, but I reckon my local store had a bad batch as the millionaire ones tasted absolutely rank 🥴

Same here. Came yesterday and it was as though they’d been through a tumble dryer. The outer box was fine so it definitely didn’t happen in transit.

Geenius

Anyone else get these just randomly thrown into a box, instead of actual boxes of 12? Many of mine are just a mess, bent into all shapes. I guess I won't be getting to eat much of the topping as it'll be stuck to the wrappers.

EmperorJackson

Ooo maybe I’m just being impatient. Now I’m back in the gym I need my PROTEIN!

130uk

I received my order today and I didn't get a dispatch e-mail, only a email from Hermes saying they had my parcel, I knew it was HB as I had nothing else coming. There was a Hermes delivery note inside the parcel, they sent my order from their retail store in Merseyside, which is unusual. High demand I guess,

EmperorJackson

Anyone else still not had their dispatch email? How long do H&B usually take to ship out?

Myprotein were better before they rebranded in their prices and customer service. Product wise they are good. I mostly use their isolate and other supplements that I use to make my own pre workout. I started using them in 2015/16 when I started training again and alongside eating well they have served me well

DatAlbino

I should clarify they were 18 protein oat bars, so like halfway between a flapjack and a chocolate bar it looks like? Still, low sugar and 22g of protein per bar, so can't complain! What's your opinion of MyProtein's supplements? Like I said, I've always gone with Bulkpowders as they are a little bit pricier but the quality seems excellent, and I've heard some mixed reviews about other places, including MYP. I've bought some unflavoured Creatine, some Brownies, Protein Bars, and a Pre-workout blend (side note: can't believe their pre-workouts don't contain BCAAs like most other brands). Thanks!

Smadmad

I usually buy my supplements from MyProtein. I'm a big fan of their Carb crusher bars. These Macro Munch bars are better then any of the bars I've had from MyProtein. Possibly my fave bars followed by Barebells. £10 for 18 bars is a bargain

DatAlbino

I don't doubt these are nice, and I usually go for BulkPowders for all my supplements, however with the Revolut 38% discount at MyProtein, I couldn't resist. I picked up a box of 18 protein bars for under a tenner! Madness.

Smadmad

Got 2 lemon & 2 coconut for £25!!! Thanks OP

feltonsamantha

173 cals for 15g protein isn’t as good macro wise than something like a MP lean bar BUT I love coconut bars and bought two boxes. Thanks OP.

feltonsamantha

PHD normal smart bars are delicious but we found the plant based ones inedible. Obviously if you’re vegan it’s great they make them but everything from taste to texture was particularly nasty for my palate.

huw8565

I think this deal is better, order through the link on here to phd bars, was 5 free bars but it 6 now, order the smart jack bars for £10.49 then that 18 protein bars delivered for £10.49, and bigger in sizes

Good spot!

deirdrebarlow

Did you consider eating 2 a day may have been the problem?

John217

Ive got a study that shows 5 out of 7 subjects experienced gas, bloating 4/7 cramps and diarrhea from 20g of sorbitol if you would like that? The reason it destroys your gut is obvious, its like abusing laxatives unknowingly. The bacterial imbalance that develops can lead to gut issues even ulcers. It's the price paid for a nice tasting bar, businesses like affinity nutrition tried to develop a bar without these ingredients they tasted bland and couldnt compete. The 100% refers to 50g dose . Thats common knowledge due to being a laxative, you can search up sorbitol on amazon.com and see the dosage.

Jordan_Taylor

I'd love a copy of the study which says 100% rate of people suffer side effects at 20g. I'm just waiting for you to explain how your gut gets "destroyed" I'm not going to reply till both of those are met because it's going down the route of billy bull...

John217

The studies determined sorbitol effects everyone with a dose between 20-50 grams. Protein bars can contain 17grams.

Arriving today, it was the lack of delivery dispatch email that had me concerned. Thanks again for the tip (y)

Pinkgymbunny

3-5 working days after dispatch by DPD is the standard service. Hopefully they'll arrive soon :) I don't think they issue dispatch notifications.

Tee_Doff23

No sign of the order yet, so certainly not the fastest to deliver! Good job I don't actually need them (y) good to know for future orders though that it could take a while to come through.

I used to use Amazon s&s to get a box@£16.96 but even thats too expensive. Prefer to pay £1 a bar or less.. I've been sticking with warrior crunch bars.. goto teamwarrior.com & use code crunch. 4 boxes works out at £45.58 for 48 bars

Not bad at £1 a bar considering Amazon and Prime available. 20g of protein.
lightweightbaby

In a nutshell it's a sugar alcohol (aka polyol). Pro's: It sweetens products but with only about half the kcals of regular sugar. Cons: It's poorly digested in the gut. In my experience, I've found anything above 10-15g polyols/100g (maltitol, sorbitol, isomalt, xylitol, erythritol, etc.) causes gastrointestinal issues. Would depend from person to person though. These bars do taste pretty damn good though.

stuyboy

These are only £1 per bar in ASDA at the moment... If you don't want to commit to a whole box ;)
