All Chopping Board Discounts, Offers and Sale - April 2018
Oos now :(
Maybe try to eat more fish?
It's a bit of a gimmick really as you will always use 1 board load more than the rest, so for example I am forether cutting up veg on the fish board
What one? They usually have only 4 boards. Do you have a link? Thanks.
You can get the one with more boards from argos and Debenham for £30. Seems like an average price
Expired! Not sure why it was cold at £25
Thanks for this - perhaps mine were a faulty batch, I've just contacted them this morning so it shall be interesting to see what reply they email to me.
After a while these get marked/stained beyond use not a good buy.
They're plastic chopping boards
stainless steel chopping boards? ouch, i don't fancy using your knives after a few weeks of cutting on those! just get a couple of reasonable quality wooden boards (one for meat, one for veg - i got mine for about £6 each from the range) and a bottle of food safe chopping board oil (a few quid from ikea/online). will be half the price of this, won't hurt your knives, and will probably last loads longer if well looked after...
Chopping board or placemat with slot?
Personally I prefer bamboo as it is light weight, won't make knife blunt (compared to granite), easy handling. Have a look here.
Granite or bamboo which is best?
Said the white bloke to the black woman.
I don't need a chopping board but saw there was 30 comments so knew there would be some sort of argument and I wasn't disappointed
to much replying.
I have these (not my choice) no idea why they are so expensive as you can easily get almost identical ones from supermarkets for a fraction of the price.
My folks have them, some colours are insanely difficult to pull out from the holder! Not sure if dishwasher has caused this. Anyhow, I didn't see a difference compared to the ones we'd got from Sainsbury's really!
Hi thanks for post but I have a different tale to tell. I got these chopping boards (perhaps not the exact same but look the same) and despite having non slip edges on both sides they slide all over my granite worktops. Very disappointing - perhaps I just got a faulty set. Would like to hear of others opinions!
good price, thanks
dam missed it
I assuming this is a genuine question. They don't. I am just rewording the whole fake 4k tv argument. As a joke.
How do they "add" 200 w?
Yes. Its also a fake 1000w. Its actually a 800w +200w so make 1Kw :-p
which store buddy
Put a jacket on (popcorn)
Probably should have typed out more on my phone: They were for this set: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Joseph-Index-Chopping-Board-Large/dp/B00LMCWFVM/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1520281947&sr=8-4&keywords=joseph+joseph+chopping&dpID=51FfxmZxl8L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch Current price of £52.26...Including the holder
They were the set of 34cm by 24cm, and Manchester for sure. Not sure about other cities
not the same thing at all got a set of these ones for 19.99 in tk maxx a while back
They are in Manchester too. Dont think they are the same ones in TK Maxx, says £32 on their website https://www.tkmaxx.com/uk/en/home/kitchen/index-large-chopping-board-set-34x24cm/p/85341926
I got a text today so it is probably in the Southampton/Portsmouth area
I was just about to say the same. Just picked up a set this afternoon.
I got a similar set in asda (asda's own) reduced to £8
19cm x 23cm if you exclude the long handle
Now these are nice...........and match my kitchen lovely. Thank you (highfive)
I bought very very similar Russell Hobbs ones in B&M for £9.99 https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/russell-hobbs-chopping-board-set-4pc-323538
They really are the Apple of kitchen utensils - design over actual quality. 3 chopping boards from ikea are a fiver. BUT this is a deals website - and 50% off is indeed a deal.
A lot of the 4 and 5 star reviews mention the softness of the plastic in many of Joseph Joseph products. I'm not here to argue with people but these are aimed at Apple owners, bang a big price on them, make the bright and funky at the cost of quality. it's a formula that works with Jones' type thinking higher price is better quality. You won't find these products in a professional kitchen, they wouldn't last 5 minutes and the amount of plastic going into the food would have you shut down by the council. Good for decoration though so long as you don't use them. Sorry if I offend Joseph Joseph owners that is not my intention but I would suggest when what ever product you have, that will be worn out in a few months, don't buy another to add to the plastic waste mountain.
Your curry didn’t happen to have turmeric in it did it? I stained my Joseph Joseph utensil on first use but turmeric stains, not the makers fault!
It's actually pretty accurate. I've got this - knives slice right into the soft plastic which makes it look ugly and creates plastic shavings. I've also got a set of JosephJoseph ladles/Spatulas and they became stained after the first time I used them to serve a curry. Poor products from my experience with them too.
Why would you eat this? Am I missing something? But I agree about it marking easily.
Would be worried if they didn't! A nice hard chopoing board to blunt my knives?... no thanks!
Paid 12.50 for mine a few months ago from amazon. Granted you would now need a time machine to get them cheaper so havent voted.
NEWSFLASH: chopping boards scratch
Poor quality products. Good idea just cheap materials
I have these, and they're OK. Its good they all go back in the holder to keep things a bit tidier. However, I don't think they are worth the price they are asking, I think I got a deal and got mine for under a tenner.
Well, it finally arrived...Broken. Absolutely terrible customer service akin to Currys cowboys.
Still waiting. I sent an email to HO as their track n trace doesnt work for me. They reckon it was sent on the 25th November and should arrive by 12th December. even for France thats a hell of a long time. Just sent another email but I doubt it was ever sent.
Collected this yesterday. I have to say that the quality is shocking for £25, let alone £75.
Mine arrived damaged. Going back.
I ordered yesterday and had delivered today
Last year it was £9.99 from Groupon. Could not believe that 4 small plastic boards went up x 3 !?! Even for £9.99 my wife still sent it back because they are to small, unless you got small kitchen.
Nope it’s an upside down octopus!
£30 for chopping boards??! WTF
No, no, no - it is in fact the 'soup' board 😁
I must say that the "hot beverage" chopping board is excellent. 😁
The left-handed knives are great, you only need to sharpen one side.
cheap and cheerful, went for the knife block and wooden utensils. Hopefully will be decent enough to last a short while!
Thanks, went for the wooden utensils.
Hello there welcomedistraction, would you mind sending the order details through to email@example.com so we can look into this for you. We still have stock against this product so cannot see how / why the scenario you describe would occur. Kind regards The CPC Team
Well this ended up being a complete rip off - they took the order, cancelled the boards, fulfilled the rest of the ordr and then whacked a handling fee on as the total value fell to less than £5 when they removed the boards! Ignored requests to cancel the order, then denied anything had been removed from the order. Claimed I had put in a code for a product which had ended in August - pointed out all I had done was clicked add to basket on an item showing on their website! Awful company - AVOID!
Remember that CPC's live stock update can be a little slow, if you want these order asap.
I moaned about it via live chat and was offered a £5.00 promotional credit as a goodwill gesture :D
Me too. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Received email today... "Unfortunately, we’ve had to cancel your order #205-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx for the Joseph Joseph Index Chopping Board Set - White, Set of 4 (B06XRZRZK1) as this item has been discontinued. You haven't been charged for this item. We're sorry for the inconvenience caused and hope to see you again soon." Oh well, worth a try anyway.
Has anyone received theirs? I haven't seen them back in stock with Amazon since ordering
Available again at £12.50 (but still out of stock) so i've ordered. My knives are blunt so it should take a while to score them, haha!
Bizarre. I eat mostly vegetables, and definitely want sharp knives for that. I make a salad daily at lunch time with loads of veg (technically fruit a lot of it - let's call them salad items), and definitely want a sharp knife - e.g. tomatoes, carrot, red cabbage. I would imagine a glass chopping board feels/sounds horrible too when cutting on.
I'm veggie.. there's virtually no foodstuffs I need a sharp knife for. :D
Bamboo is even better than wood no? And arguably environmentally better - can be at least. Bamboo is generally stated to be antibacterial. Pretty hard too. Don't use glass, that's a terrible idea unless you like blunt knives. I do wonder about the health effects of using plastic too - especially when it's really soft. Ends up in your food? Wood to be nice to have a bamboo index set. Actually argos sell one. A better looking version of this would be nice: http://www.argos.co.uk/product/3221006 I use this: https://www.menkind.co.uk/quirky-mocubo-one-stop-chop-chopping-board And place those cheap thin plastic chopping sheets on top.
my butcher used to use them but isn't allowed to now, the same as all butchers. Just call up the environmental health and ask them if wooden chopping boards are allowed in a commercial property.
Glad my first deal made it to the magic number of 666 degrees! Also the comments have made a fascinating read of the intense rivalry between wood and plastic! This is a better rivalry than leasing v buying cars (lol) (lol) (lol)
