Recent reviews are appalling, that said, they could have bought fakes from 3rd party sellers. Shame it isn't the other set on the page, I missed that deal when it was £17.99 earlier.
Masterclass are the best quality baking trays I've used, having said that I also use pyrex dishes which are cheap but give great results (just bought a pyrex loaf size dish from home bargains £1.99)
Hope these are good... Heat.
I use them on daily basis Very handy I love them
I have this set, Love them, because they're thin they're great for my halogen hob, rather then the scoville ones i have which take ages to heat up (y)
Just ordered thankyou , I will just see how they are , but for that price I thought it was a brilliant price
Good luck with delivery, ordered few things it'll take a month ;(
I absolutely agree with this, anything without liquid will burn and stick. I had them when they were around £7. Within few days almost all handles burnt down near the pan due to being on medium/high heat. Had it when I had new house and couldn't afford buying good one at that time. Not only this but I had quite few pairs of nonstick from ikea as well. I regret wasting my money and creating landfill by throwing these sets.
People love sticking the boot into argos but we are still using some of our crockery we bought for our first house in 2006. Sure some of it had been and gone or seen better days but can't complain too much given the price.
Well, lucky it's not coated in Teflon as that's the subject of your linked movie and book :p Secondly it was the chemicals and/or the process used in the creation of Teflon that caused hazardous materials / chemicals to leech into water, that's not to say the completed product is, in itself, hazardous.
If you are young and healthy. Go for it. A cheap potentially poisonous pan ain't going to upset a student with a the other crap they rightfully are loading into themselves. If your a bit older and have kids and give 2.... Then I suggest you steer clear. Standard rubbish from Argos at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.
This is advertised as "non-stick coated carbon steel", not Teflon, looks safe at a quick glance, but please double check before buying. If you're not aware of health issues with bad cookware coating, watch the movie Dark Waters https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9071322/ before buying cheap cooking sets. Or if a book works better for you, it's based on Exposure: Poisoned Water, Corporate Greed, and One Lawyer’s Twenty-Year Battle Against DuPont https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/50782151-exposure
Maybe they arent including the saucepan lid? (lol)
Do you mean Parrot safe ? PTFE and PTOA free you need to be safe. Ceramic and Aluminium are. But it depends on the coating used. Tefal non stick kills birds, the fumes are toxic.
Not if the question is about jobs and not hobs.
Not available in any South Wales stores?
Any one seriously using an induction hob would know the answer to this question immediately.
I read only if overheated, and then it's in the smoke. Which is what I did a few days ago with a Teflon Pan that I forgot about and only prompted to remember by the smoke coming up the stairs. So now...new pan needed...and here I am. EDIT this is why they recommend birds not being kept in the kitchen as the smoke may be too much for them if it overheats.
Nice find and first deal @Sae123 - even with the delivery, that's a decent price :)
Nice first deal @Sae123
More fool you for using a metal spoon. You know car paint scratches when you try to clean it with a wire brush too right? Tefal is excellent kit and it’ll last you for years if you bother to look after it.
Only a heathen would cook with metal on metal, wood or silicone only in any pot or pan unless you like the taste of metal.
Asian guests are different. They help themselves to everything (lol) "Su casa, mi casa" They want to help cook clean the dishes and so on. If you object they get offended. They clean dishes and lift the strainer and let all rubbish down teh sink drain.
I remember seeing a toxicologist saying that you needn't worry about tiny flakes of nonstick passing through your 'system', is very non-reactive (it needs to be to be nonstick). However, you should be wary of what happens to it when it burns (ie an empty pan on a high heat). The smoke could easily be absorbed by your lungs, and then it's actually in your system. Also it kills bird immediately, and is pretty nasty to fish, too.

https://www.costco.co.uk/Furniture-Home/Kitchen-Dining/Kirkland-Signature-Stainless-Steel-10-Piece-Cookware-Set/p/1119338 A set like that would outlast you. Worth it in the long run. I have the same set. Amazing quality. Slightly cheaper in store.
Yes I can hold on.
Witch one are good? Could you give me some examples. I'm interested to buy it. Thanks in advance! :)
These pans are superb. I’ve just bought the stainless range from John Lewis. This is hot but I can never post deals on here.
After 2 years 6 months, i still i'm using these pans but the handles are becoming loose, even with tightening them. Still i wanted a cheap set of pans for an induction hob and people can't go wrong with these. Obviously if you have £100s to spend on a set you won't need these
I just found that with the heavier base pans I have, they tend to distribute heat in a more controlled manner, and these budget IKEA pans, even on a setting of '2' (out of 10) burn food that should be at a very low simmer.
Six years down the line, still using mine.
Now looks to be OOS!
n ireland its in stock in belfast but i reckon everything is IN stock ahem then when you go to order they actually give you the true stock ie none lol
You're better off with Circulon's 3 for 2 offer.
Got to love Amazon's demand pricing... £35+ now
Any good? https://www.johnlewis.com/browse/special-offers/home-garden-offers/cookware-offers/jamie-oliver-by-tefal/_/N-eiwZ1z13qv2
I need tefal pans. Has anyone spotted any?
Great post @lupo_yellow , got the granite one and it's great quality for the price.
bought the granite one, 3 items bought, same items cost a lot more on Amazon UK
You need to have a Student Beans account (university email required), similar to UNiDAYS etc. Saw the banner on top of roov site when I went to purchase the item. Clicked on it, went to Student Beans, logged in, generated a code
Just the thing to grind up my red peppers and lemons
Our set lasted 15 months and is now hitting the bin. Non stick coating is coming off and we only use them for normal family dinners.
low quality and overpriced it seems, quite sums up groupon.
Has been as low as £20 at Dunelms
Have been as low as £25, which is about the right price for these.
Agree binned it after 6 month use
Every since Dinner Date I knew that I wanted rectangle plates. Might get black.
They seem small for a serving platter/plate
Serving platter but only 25cm long, no wonder why in the photo 4 strawberries take up half the plate. Disappointing size
Any updates ?
Mine arrived yesterday. They look really nice quality. Very pleased with them. Time will tell how they stand up to use.
Wow delivery is crazy
Yes I am thinking of asking for my £79 back
Yes, i got a cancellation email too
Anybody had a cancellation email for these? I got one last night.
super dang now I feel bad for sleeping in :P oh well congrats to those who got it in time!
It stated amazon, i just missed it too, was in my basket and then showed as no longer for sale
Ramekins - creme brulee and for serving little things
OK. So these particular ones aren't actually any different?
He probably isn’t raving about these particularly. Le creuset is best known for their cast iron pans which is a completely different type of cooking, gives good heat distribution and is great for cooking on the hob and in the oven.
Not trolling, genuine question... What does Le Creuset do that the normal ceramic dishes don't? A guy at work raves about them as well... Am I missing something?
We picked up a 39cm light pink one for £16 TK Maxx online
Still cheap, price reduced again to £36.08
I would definitely agree with this comment, I own lots of procook pots and pan. I would NOT recommend buying sandwiched bottom pans as they are useless. Over the years spent/wasted so much money for cheap pans. May be buy one at a time but buy a quality one. Cheap or expensive, nonstick doesn't last even with hand wash or silicon/wooden utensils. Over the years I have contributed to big landfill by throwing lots of nonstick pans. Try ply all the way...
They're all heavy base pans, for the money you will find it hard to get a 10 piece set of this quality. I've been in the industry long enough to know a good pot and pan when I see one. The non stick pans are double layered too, I have single layer non stick pans still going after 4+ years without as much as a mark on them all at the cost of £10 from to maxx. It's all down to how you treat them. Plus, if all else fails their return policy is amazing and the reviews speak for themselves.
I’ve got some of their stainless steel pans and they are decent. Would buy again / more.
Wouldn’t recommend, it looks to me that they only have tri-ply bases as opposed to being fully clad all throughout - so uneven cooking around the sides of the pans. Also all of the non-stick pans in the set will only last for so long before needing to be replaced, it’s only worth buying cheap non-sticks so you can replace them when necessary. If you’re looking to spend this much on a set look for fully clad tri-ply stainless steel and potentially metal handles.
Good reviews and looks a great set.
I read the same review....
Have received my set of pans and can confirm they are the same as in the photo description; ie as advertised.
saves on loo roll
