HyperX Cloud Alpha Pro Gaming Headset £59.99 @ Currys

How is everyone finding these? thinking of returning them as my mic is picking up audio from either a game or music on both Xbox one and PC but they sound great which is a shame

Don't know whether to get these or the Cloud 2 for the XboxOne? Anybody know if one is better than the other for console?

Currently got the cloud 2's, loved em but daughter broke them and the mic no longer works, even with a replacement. Trying to decide between these or the revolver s?

Got these today. They are plenty loud enough on Xbox 1x using 3.5mm jack on the stock controller. Previously using turtle beach xo1's via turtle beach plug in adaptor Two points though. 1) sounded quieter initially with volume dial on full till I realised sound in settings was set to half (these settings are ignored when using turtle beach adaptor above). Plenty loud enough once set to full in settings and then adjusted to comfortable level using in line dial. 2) inline mic switch doesnt work if you forgot you turned mic off in the xb1x settings lol.

There is a thing called "Push to talk" :). The mic on these or the stinger is not the same quality as the modmic. The zalman mic will match the quality of these for £8 if you only care about gaming it's more than good enough. It has clips to attach along your headphone cable if 2 cable are a concern. You can then pick up something like the aforementioned sennheiser 206 for £23, AKG K92 for £33 or maybe the AKG K240 for £51 or whatever headphones you prefer. Later if you decide to get new headphones you can easily swap over the mic. Some people will prefer having an all in one and that's fine just so long as it's an informed decision. Gaming headphones are just headphones with a mic built in some people don't realise that. If you are the sort that has to worry about your headphones breaking because you wear them while gaming(wtf are you doing that this is a concern? :)) I highly recommend spending more on some beyerdynamic DT 770 when they are on sale they will last you decades.

Can someone explain how these work on a pc, surely if it has one jack plug, what do you plug it into for both the mic and earphones to work?

Collected mine today at Currys. Had £25 giftcard so was at the perfect price (y) Now back to £39.99 and £34.99 @ Amazon.co.uk Quick test and seems very good, very happy!

Been looking for a budget headset for a while, awesome! Can't wait for it to turn up, then I can play pubg in peace :D

Got one of this from the last Curry's sale a few months back at similar price. The sound is good, cable is solid all though the headphone could feel a bit plasticy flimsy after a while. Just be aware that the mic is just ok. The mic input is very low for some reason for me, even when I've tried all sorts to bump it up. If you bump the input enhancement up, you could record with your normal voice but there would be a lot of background noise.

The people buying the Revolver S are also buying it for the 7.1 Dolby Surround feature because it's the best headset for that. The Cloud 2 is "only" stereo.

Nope these are amazing and for the price are a steal

I don't think my comment went though? Anyway, I went into discord with my friend and he has told me that the mic is absolutely amazing and that he will be buying the Revolver S after his cloud II gives out. In my opinion this is the most comfortable headset I've ever used, I've had it on for 7 hours and its still not uncomfortable. In terms of sound its the best i've ever heard (even over £300 headsets I've tried at gaming festivals) and a massive improvement over my Sony Gold Headset (£50-£60) which hinges snapped within 3 months and Sony wont even take them back. Anyway, the Revolver S has a setting which can activate surround sound while not amazing it works pretty decently for pin pointing where footsteps are coming from. If you didn't know this before then I doubt you have ever owned the Revolver S(perhaps you've tried the revolver(not S))? Anyway I'm extremely pleased I noticed this deal before buying an Astro headset and for me its the best headset I've used so I won't be complaining.

So is the Revolver? I don't understand the point you are making.. Both headsets can emulate 7.1 surround sound And in both headsets its more of a gimmick than anything

But the Cloud 2 are stereo.

Thanks, I'll have a read up on it :)

if you want to use the 7.1 surround sound card (the controller unit thing which is) then pc and ps4 but if you want to use xbox you may need adapter as the older xbox one controller dont have a jack and im sure i read something about chat not working on xbox and may need a extra cable which is a few pounds on amazon but not 100% sure if im mixing that up with another headset

Ps4 and Xbox one

I think Console as Forza 5 is not out on pc ordered my self a set cracking price

Currys must have put the price up, they're now showing as £39.99 and Amazon too at £29.99 (annoyed)

Not bad for a mid head set. I use them on the xbox. Can't do with a heavy headset so these are perfect. Got atmos on the xbox and the sound is good. No issues and with that price tag a steal.

Get the HyperX cloud 2s if you see them around the £50 mark, they was on Black Friday I bought them, they are Great sound (when you turn on 7.1 sound) the micro phone is decent quality, you must have the micro phone close to your mouth for it to pick up, this may be a good or bad thing for some

Exact reason why I didn't bite when I seen them on the black Friday sale, mic for Xbox one X has to be at least good enough. Had an email saying my hyperx cloud alphas arrived today, grabbed Dolby Atmos licence last night knowing they were arriving today. £54. Will try out normal stereo first, then windows sonic and then finally Atmos, see what real differences there are.

also topcashback for currys although never a lot but counts for collection as well. better in your pocket than theres in my eyes

£29.99 today

The cloud II’s come with a usb soundcard not these ones.

That's a lot of irrelevant information but thanks for letting us know about your sister.

I have these. Paid £40 for them around a month ago, which I thought was very overpriced at the time. Opening the package up I'd expect the price to be closer to £25. I planned on using them for one session and then returning them. However, it's paid its price back three times over with how well made it is, how easy it is to use and how much more fun it makes playing with your friends when you don't have to faff about with echo/volume problems/buzzing noises etc. that cheaper headsets I've had are prone to. Since I got the headset, my game time has essentially doubled across the board because it really does make online gaming that much more fun. Before, I had 150 hours on Overwatch since I got it last Christmas. Now, just in the past 6 weeks I've racked up another 100 hours that I absolutely do not regret. I do believe it's overpriced, don't get me wrong. The product they give you should not cost much to produce per unit. However, the value you get from them in potential usage far exceeds the price tag. Also, the quick mute, quick vol, comfort and foldable (?) cups are now features I would never buy a headset without.

It's a new Xbox controller and has a headphone jack, so this will work without buying anything additional? Toss up between a turtle beach or this

It depends, do you have a controller with the headphone jack? It will work But I believe if you have the old controller (no audio jack) then you need some adapter

It depends if you have the older controller without a headphone jack or the newer controller with a headphone jack I believe this is the set up

Does the Xbox one need anything additional for this headset?

They were at 39.99 at Smyths in April. Deal posted on here as well.

Just got the Cloud Silver for 39.99... they are good but not manific good! If you ever have a chance try the Superlux from Amazon at around £25. Now those are manific...especially for £25

Have been £39.99 on Amazon.

Lol....these headphones are great. I paid 80 pounds for them and would gladly pay it again. Sound is se manific. Se manific !

Stallzy (a member on here) made me aware they have been lower at £36, but that may have been the deal you was referring to just without the code https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/hyperx-cloud-ii-pro-71-gaming-headset-red-3599-currys-2662232 (Time machines at the ready!) That said. I don't think it will going down further than 49.99 before Christmas. I also have a feeling they're clearing stock of the cloud 2s. Currys stock at £52 sold out in days and they haven't re-stocked since AFAIK. From what I've heard these make a good headset and headphones for listening to music/films only bettered by the Cloud Alpha's.

Ok I have both the Cloud 2 and Alpha infront of me and while I thought for the past 2 years I've been using the best headset in the Cloud 2 - the difference between the Alpha and Cloud 2 is night and day. The Alpha is definitely on par with entry level audiophile headphones, I think these beat most £100 headphones.

Was just watching the review videos of this headset literally this morning. At this price, it's just difficult to say no, so I ordered one :D

I have these. Great headphones! I highly recommend them!!! As above you can use 3 solutions for surround sound: Razer Surround @ https://www.razerzone.com/surround Dolby Atmos @ https://www.dolby.com/us/en/apps/access/pc-xbox.html Windows Sonic @ https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/mt807491(v=vs.85).aspx Plus my Asus Formula Motherboard also has Asus Sonic Studio. Its also worth checking our your own motherboard.

Isnt Windows Sonic Free and does the same thing? However, this past summer, Microsoft added Windows Sonic for Headphones to Windows 10 for free. It’s a virtual surround sound system that I think sounds much better than HyperX’s dongle. And it’ll work with your existing sound hardware/sound card. You just plug your headphones in and turn on Windows sonic in the sound options. Microsoft also added support for Dolby Atmos to Windows 10, which is a different virtual surround sound system that works with your existing hardware. I think it’s also quite good, and also better than the Cloud II USB dongle. It’s free for the first 30 days, and 15 bucks after that. These two new surround sound options are also available on Xbox One.

These are good on XBox One X especially if you have the Dolby Atmos plug in. The downside is not all games support it and it does cost £15 to buy. But the good news is they offer a 30 free trial so you can test it before you buy. It is basically Dolby's own software for virtual surround sound with vertical seperation making any headset surround sound.

Aran.D nailed it. I've used all types including membrane and sissor switch keys. It's personal preference (blue may give you a slight disadvantage in FPS) but I've also settled on brown. Gorgeous for both typing and gaming. 8)

Pre-owned headphones?????

I paid £40 for this a couple of years ago on amazon and it's the best headset I've ever owned. Smits still going strong!

https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/video-games-and-tablets/playstation-4/playstation-4-accessories/hyperx-cloud-ii-headset-gunmetal/p/158082 Brand new same price some left in certain stores.

I've been looking at these for quite a while, not sure if they were labeled as pre-owned last night but never new, usually as refurbs, they cycle through them quite a lot.. Some come up as refurbs, some pre-owned, some recertified at Maplin.

Could’ve sworn it didn’t say pre-owned last night
