HyperX Alloy FPS Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Cherry Red switches £70.98 @ Amazon

Browns ;) Perfect balance of speed and tactile feedback ....

I understand the spec, I was more just griping because I like switches with some tactile feedback that are clacky enough to wake the neighbours

Cherry Red switches have the lowest actuation time and resistance out of all the standard Cherry switches, so they have the quickest response time when pressed which is why nearly all "gaming" keyboards have Reds. However it makes them less suitable for typing because they have almost no feedback.

Why are all the gaming keyboard deals always for MX Red switches! Nice deal anyway (y)

I have this board, got it cheap during Maplins closing sale. What I like: • USB on the back for charging • Buttons come off easy, helps with cleaning & replacing keys • Braided cable that unplugs, great for when you need to clean your desk. • Cherry keys great for FPS gaming. • Pre-Programmed lighting effects (no software to change this) • Aluminium body that's cold, looks great and feels sturdy • Deactivate windows key when gaming

I bought a used one of these, best gaming headset out there. last one cost me a fortune and is nowhere as good. decent for music but plug directly to soundcard

I had mine for 4 years they are the best headset on the market with the best value for your money.

I had one of these for about a week before I sent it back. To be honest I don't know why these are so popular, to me they are just an average headset... The sound quality is OK but mic is TERRIBLE! Also the 7.1 sound is crap - causes too much echoing/distortion, you'll end up turning it off... Seriously stick to 2.0 with headphones for the best quality sound. I Ended up getting a second-hand Sennheiser 'Game One' for the same price, I was much happier with my purchase.

I am seriously displayed with the (god awful) alphas should I go back to these at 59.99 or wait for a drop at black Friday?

What are the best quality headsets? I'd strongly advise everyone against turtle beach hence I'm asking.. I had an xo four which snapped after 15 months.. then I spent out on what I though was an upgrade.. XO Seven which snapped after just 9 months.. I eventually after excessive attempts to get hold of their attrocious customer services got a replacement (4 months after raising the rma) which is now doing the same thing and whilst waiting for that one used a 2nd hand Turtle Beach Sentinel headset from my brother which he had hardly ever used and that one also snapped on the arm (all exactly the same issue read the Amazon reviews) after just 3 months! I'm an adult and look after my things.. turtle beach are clearly made from cheap plastic which fractures for no apparent reason and then snaps when you put it over your ears! Now I want a good durable quality headset but don't know what's best!

Changed my mind. This deal would be hot if not for the terrible service of currys. Was due mon 3rd and still not been delivered INSTORE for me to collect.

How do I undo an expired deal as this is now back in stock ?

I bought both this and the K95 Platinum on the same day for Prime Day to compare them and return the one I didn't like (or both). Ended up keeping the K95, the speed switches are just a bit faster and also the spacebar on the Alloy RGB felt quite flimsy

Anyone have this keyboard ? If so what do you think about it ??

Also in stock at Amazon for the same price (nerd)

Kingston HyperX 8GB 2666 MHz DDR4 £58.95 @ Amazon (16GB for £117.90)
Found 17th AugFound 17th Aug
You arent going to find DDR4 for much cheaper than this! 16GB DDR4 @ 2666MHz for £117.90 is a bargain

What section in bold? And could you please explain your statement (quote) "8+8=8GB Dual Channel". ...Guess I'll be waiting a long time for the apology I'm due; rather telling I think.

The section in bold IS you saying the exact opposite. Hundreds? You work as/for a system builder?? I could possibly claim hundreds, but then I have been building/moding computers since before Windows came out; I think I still have the floppy disk install for Win95 somewhere.

Did I say otherwise? #confused I will however now say that a matched pair kit is very rarely required despite what is stated. This is the experience of doing hundreds of ram installs.

Would you like to explain your statement above? ;-)

Having unravelled all the double negatives - yes you havent said anything of the sort. "Matched pairs are only useful when you want to squeeze every drop out of an overclock on the memory." The world we live in is not perfect; despite identical specs, two RAM modules produced sequentially on the same machine can be different enough that their performance can be very different when it comes to overclocking. The same has been known and acknowledged about cpus for may years; one may overclock by 2GHz without issue, another may not be capable of 1GHz overclock even with vCore tweaks. In fact I have experienced it; with 2 identical 3.2GHz Phenom II x6 cpus, one wasnt stable beyond 3.6GHz, no matter what I did, the other will easily clock to beyond 4GHz without tweaking any voltage settings on exactly the same rig.

Peeing off potential customers is a terrible way to drive traffic. This is a balls up, not a marketing strategy.

Good way to drive web traffic. (y)

Thanks mate

Not sure on their email if it's not on their website. As I say, I would use the Resolver complaint website (resolver.co.uk, there's been a recent post about it on HUKD) to raise (and if needed escalate) your complaint, as Resolver has their email addresses for initial complaint stage and also for escalation. Good luck.

anyone ordered from BT?? 4x16gb@ £61 not cancelled yet

It’s like people (customers) forget that people (staff) make mistakes. Should this cost companies money? Staff their job? Or just be cancelled and everyone walks away from the situation no worse than they were before (maybe a reprimand for the staff member to remind them the importance of due diligence and the importance of not upsetting customers).

I did the same and was offered the same. The listing is correct, other than the 7.1 bit. The offending part is the last picture which leads you to believe it comes with the extra, I think it's just an upgraded model of the original Cloud as it's branded with PS4 Pro on the box. Still a good price for a very decent headset, but annoying all the same!

Yet they still have that picture up on the item. What is wrong with them? Baffles me how companies so big as Curry's can easily get away with false advertising.

I don't think the sound quality is that great on these but maybe I am just used to my 3.1 surround sound or I have some settings wrong somewhere will have a play

I messaged Currys via eBay informing them that the listing was misleading since no hard case or Velour cups were included. They offered me a partial refund of 10%. XD

Alpha, that was the on I was thinking of. Either way these headsets are unbeatable for the price. I love mine.

I’m not sure if the speakers have been upgraded but these are slightly upgraded to the original cloud, having the inline volume on the cable like the also upgraded “Cloud Silver”. You see many people saying the Cloud ones and CloudX’s are discontinued or that they are old because there is also the Cloud II but actually the Cloud II is more a PC version having the 7.1 usb dongle which is no use on console, the CloudX is aimed at the Xbox and the Cloud Silver is a all rounder. The newer headset with new speakers is the Cloud Alpha, that comes with the same as the Cloud Silver, a cloth bag and inline volume but no second set of pads or hard case.

Don't these have upgraded speakers to the standard HyperX headsets? I use the HyperX Cloud II and they are incredible for the price. Heat added BTW.

Yes, rather thick too. I’ve actually bought the “Cloud Silver” last week, these are the newer revision of the standard “Cloud” it has a new inline volume button. From what I can see the only difference with the “CloudX” over the “Cloud Silver” is it includes a hard case instead of a soft pouch and some extra velour pads which are two items I really wanted. Also the “CloudX”is £10 cheaper from what I paid for the Silvers.

What is the cable like on these? Braided?

How is everyone finding these? thinking of returning them as my mic is picking up audio from either a game or music on both Xbox one and PC but they sound great which is a shame

Don't know whether to get these or the Cloud 2 for the XboxOne? Anybody know if one is better than the other for console?

Currently got the cloud 2's, loved em but daughter broke them and the mic no longer works, even with a replacement. Trying to decide between these or the revolver s?

Got these today. They are plenty loud enough on Xbox 1x using 3.5mm jack on the stock controller. Previously using turtle beach xo1's via turtle beach plug in adaptor Two points though. 1) sounded quieter initially with volume dial on full till I realised sound in settings was set to half (these settings are ignored when using turtle beach adaptor above). Plenty loud enough once set to full in settings and then adjusted to comfortable level using in line dial. 2) inline mic switch doesnt work if you forgot you turned mic off in the xb1x settings lol.

There is a thing called "Push to talk" :). The mic on these or the stinger is not the same quality as the modmic. The zalman mic will match the quality of these for £8 if you only care about gaming it's more than good enough. It has clips to attach along your headphone cable if 2 cable are a concern. You can then pick up something like the aforementioned sennheiser 206 for £23, AKG K92 for £33 or maybe the AKG K240 for £51 or whatever headphones you prefer. Later if you decide to get new headphones you can easily swap over the mic. Some people will prefer having an all in one and that's fine just so long as it's an informed decision. Gaming headphones are just headphones with a mic built in some people don't realise that. If you are the sort that has to worry about your headphones breaking because you wear them while gaming(wtf are you doing that this is a concern? :)) I highly recommend spending more on some beyerdynamic DT 770 when they are on sale they will last you decades.

So these or the HYPERX Cloud Alpha Gaming Headset as both currently £59.99 at Currys? Looked at th cloud 2's but the headphones themselves don't seem any different (same driver) from cloud or cloud x and as these will be mainly used on Xbox one X the usb 7.1 dongle would be wasted on me for £15 extra. The alphas have detachable input cable so seem the better option compared to cloudx as not bothered if Microsoft have approved the headphones lol

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege? I play on both PC and Xbox the same game, so I don't know which one to go for. The Xbox version doesn't come with 7.1?

Gen 3 don't have mix amps. Base station and 3 eq settings that can be used and custom ones put on by pc.

Can someone explain how these work on a pc, surely if it has one jack plug, what do you plug it into for both the mic and earphones to work?

Collected mine today at Currys. Had £25 giftcard so was at the perfect price (y) Now back to £39.99 and £34.99 @ Amazon.co.uk Quick test and seems very good, very happy!

Been looking for a budget headset for a while, awesome! Can't wait for it to turn up, then I can play pubg in peace :D

Got one of this from the last Curry's sale a few months back at similar price. The sound is good, cable is solid all though the headphone could feel a bit plasticy flimsy after a while. Just be aware that the mic is just ok. The mic input is very low for some reason for me, even when I've tried all sorts to bump it up. If you bump the input enhancement up, you could record with your normal voice but there would be a lot of background noise.
