I know the modern way is to go look, touch, use in a shop then buy online. But for a few pounds more than ecommerce equivalent , I'd rather just buy an item like this from the shop. Let's see how easy it becomes to return anything (once opened) from online shops when all the High Street shops have gone.

Would never advocate PC World Currys over Amazon, see what returns are like after 6 months.

£110 in PC world without a code and you can go touch feel, return easy etc

These are virtual 7.1 surround sound, they've been around for years, some better than others at their implementation. But you can get actual true 7.1 Headsets, I think Asus make one, and I believe Tritton used to as well.

TRUE 7.1 each can has 1 Front, 1 Rear, 1 Surround, 1 Centre & 1 Sub Driver. Virtual works from software and some are very very impressive. Regardless this headset is very well reviewed.

Lol already got the hyperx cloud and Corsair HS70, would of definitely picked these up and gave them to my dad for Christmas 😁 he watches lots of movies on his tablet with earphones and complains that they don't block out much noise

The geese are strong with this one!

I had that with another headset with my old PC, it was the motherboards onboard sound not being shielded correctly, happens on other devices too sometimes. I switched to a USB sound card and my issue went away.

Be good if somewhere could price match and we were actually able to collect or get it delivered :)

"HyperX CloudX Pro" The marketing department clearly had more than just a hand in naming this device. (y)

HyperX Cloud Alpha Gaming Headset - £69.56 @ Amazon

A great gaming headset used by professionals, usually 90 quid. Discord and Teamspeak certified.

I've got the g633 Logitech and can't express how good it is. I play first-person shooters mainly (pubg, Cod blackout) and the 7.1 on it is the best I've tried. Better than astro a50(my friends I used when deciding to get a new headset) and better than the sennheiser gsp 550 I ended up buying but I'm now returning as they were twice the price and nowhere near as good. You could pick up a pair for roughly 100 quid and if you wanted to go wireless can go for the g933 at a little extra

All of the hyperx cloud line are the exact same headset. Hyperx just keep re releasing them so they can keep the price up and prevent sales from declining.

so if you could get some headphones which had all the same features of the Sennheiser HD 800 S, with everything crafted to perfection and each headphone driver is individually matched but looked and felt like the cheap china tack you linked and the price for these was £100 . Would you get them?

It's hard to take you seriously when you keep quoting legislation that hasn't been in UK law for years now.

You won't find a genuine Sennheiser HD 800 S in China since they are handcrafted in Germany, hence the high price. In this case you are buying the Ferrari of headphones, everything is crafted to perfection and each headphone driver is individually matched. The HD 600, 650, and 700 are manufactured in Sennheiser's Ireland factory. The lesser models are made in China. Best regards

Not a bad price for 16gb of DDR4!

but i theres already been 3000mhz on here for like £110.

Good news is it looks like RAM is starting to come down to a resonable price again.

That Fury runs on C14 at 2933MHz constantly 3 years ago, so this one is way better. Also C15 2400=C16 2666. More or less.

No! Latencies are more important than the speed and the Fury is 16 while the Corsair is lower at 15.

If you have not started using it, I think best send it back. Basically free upgrade even if you have to pay for postage

Ah man annoyed I missed this

OOS online. Might be lucky if you live nearby a store

I didn't rate these, I prefer my Astro A40s.

Apparently you want to be at 3000mhz or above to really benefit from a Ryzen CPU. Lower than that and you are doing youself injustice (like me, but I have learnt my lesson)

Is there a particular RAM speed where going any faster on systems with Ryzen 1000 or 2000 series CPUs no longer pays off?

Not sure what you mean with "half-decent". Because people are stupid enough to aim for the fastest (and most expensive) RAM they can get doesn't mean there are any benefits.

Strangely I can only find HX430C15PB3K2/16 when I view with a private tab and not logged in and it then says doesn't deliver to Spain :)

Hot from me

Why is this cold?

I don't have a lot of experience of mech keyboards but I type a lot (and fast) so I buy with that purpose in mind, rather than gaming. I had a cheap Chinese brand Outemu Blue 'board a while back - and the racket it made was unbearable!! It didn't help that over time it developed a stutter for no apparent reason (typing "tttttttt" etc), rendering it unusable. I would've moaned to Amazon but it was about nine months old - filed it in the bin. Now using Kailh Reds, which was to be my last ditch attempt at trying a mechanical. Much, much prefer these. Quieter (still makes a little clatter compared to membrane, but not jarring as those horrible Blues), keys feel smoother to type with than Blues, and nearly a year in, it still functions perfectly - no horrible "stutter"ing. TL;DR: I'd recommend Reds if your first experience of mechanicals was Blue - Kailh are supposedly very similar Cherry MX clones.

Totally agree i love my Merc :)

I've had my eye on the HyperX Elite for a little while, as it's a mechanical keyboard that is not completely hideous (unlike a lot "gamer" peripherals) and has media controls. Just not sure how I'd get on with the Cherry MX Reds as, by all accounts, they are super-sensitive, I'm used to membrane keyboards and I've not used a mechanical keyboard since the Model M keyboard many, many moons again.

Managed to pick these up today, didn't have a red n black pair on the shelf, took the Gold pair and the case to the till and asked for them to be scanned but both came up for £89.99. I wanted the red/black ones anyway and since their website said that they had them in stock at this store, the lady called the warehouse and they brought a pair down to the till, she scanned them with the hardcase and they come up at the £60!! Thanks for this OP! Worked with the hard case for £60! <3

Browns ;) Perfect balance of speed and tactile feedback ....

I understand the spec, I was more just griping because I like switches with some tactile feedback that are clacky enough to wake the neighbours

Cherry Red switches have the lowest actuation time and resistance out of all the standard Cherry switches, so they have the quickest response time when pressed which is why nearly all "gaming" keyboards have Reds. However it makes them less suitable for typing because they have almost no feedback.

Why are all the gaming keyboard deals always for MX Red switches! Nice deal anyway (y)

I have this board, got it cheap during Maplins closing sale. What I like: • USB on the back for charging • Buttons come off easy, helps with cleaning & replacing keys • Braided cable that unplugs, great for when you need to clean your desk. • Cherry keys great for FPS gaming. • Pre-Programmed lighting effects (no software to change this) • Aluminium body that's cold, looks great and feels sturdy • Deactivate windows key when gaming

I bought a used one of these, best gaming headset out there. last one cost me a fortune and is nowhere as good. decent for music but plug directly to soundcard

I had mine for 4 years they are the best headset on the market with the best value for your money.

I had one of these for about a week before I sent it back. To be honest I don't know why these are so popular, to me they are just an average headset... The sound quality is OK but mic is TERRIBLE! Also the 7.1 sound is crap - causes too much echoing/distortion, you'll end up turning it off... Seriously stick to 2.0 with headphones for the best quality sound. I Ended up getting a second-hand Sennheiser 'Game One' for the same price, I was much happier with my purchase.

I am seriously displayed with the (god awful) alphas should I go back to these at 59.99 or wait for a drop at black Friday?

What are the best quality headsets? I'd strongly advise everyone against turtle beach hence I'm asking.. I had an xo four which snapped after 15 months.. then I spent out on what I though was an upgrade.. XO Seven which snapped after just 9 months.. I eventually after excessive attempts to get hold of their attrocious customer services got a replacement (4 months after raising the rma) which is now doing the same thing and whilst waiting for that one used a 2nd hand Turtle Beach Sentinel headset from my brother which he had hardly ever used and that one also snapped on the arm (all exactly the same issue read the Amazon reviews) after just 3 months! I'm an adult and look after my things.. turtle beach are clearly made from cheap plastic which fractures for no apparent reason and then snaps when you put it over your ears! Now I want a good durable quality headset but don't know what's best!

How do I undo an expired deal as this is now back in stock ?

I bought both this and the K95 Platinum on the same day for Prime Day to compare them and return the one I didn't like (or both). Ended up keeping the K95, the speed switches are just a bit faster and also the spacebar on the Alloy RGB felt quite flimsy

Anyone have this keyboard ? If so what do you think about it ??
