It is a stunning bit of kit but extremely expensive. At this time unless I was desperate I would wait for the 8th gen processor refresh as that’s quad cores all round.

Also that according to iFixit, it should get a -1 out of 10 for repairability as you have to ‘destroy it to open it’. Even MacBooks have pentalobe screws so you can replace parts without damage...

It's 100 bigger that's why
2 prices you put on here are cheaper with royal mail , royal mail deliver quicker than UK mail 😁
I've had problems with ipostparcels. They didn't collect the parcel on the correct day and even though they knew they wouldn't be collecting it, they didn't bother to let me know. It was for my sons 21st birthday, so he didn't get it in time. Phoned them up. No apology. Customer service is terrible. They didn't even respond to recorded delivery letter that I'd sent to them. Had to use charge back in the end to get my money back.

You get what you pay for with cheaper postal firms.I always work on the …You get what you pay for with cheaper postal firms.I always work on the basis that smaller, less valuable parcels are fine to send by the likes of MyHermes / UKMail, but anything that's remotely fragile or valuable should be sent by a more reputable firm like UPS or Royal Mail. Yes, it's more expensive, but it's less risky.MyHermes recently delivered a package I sent which had been impacted with such force that there was a hole not only in the postage box but also the box of the item inside - and this was with it having Fragile tape all over it! That can only have been deliberate.

Have to agree on MyHermes. Around my area the lady who delivered them literally throws them over the back gate. Had several parcels broken by her. MyHermes say it must have been in such condition before they delivered it etc.... so I sent them the CCTV footage.... they still haven't responded. Then they also delivered a parcel to a neighbour and didn't leave me a card... neighbour was wondering why I didn't come to collect it thinking I was being lazy or expecting them to do it for me. When I contacted MyHermes there response was just a simple one line email with "Parcel shows as being delivered on ...." nice.

Ooh saucy
Kids loved it more than many of the other sets we've built recently. Made it their "pet", fed it, and played with it for quite some time. It is not fragile at all, despite its looks. Practically no parts falling during normal play, all parts there are sufficiently attached, the more pointy ones are attached using some of the sturdier hinges. It's also surprisingly big for the amount of parts - when I saw the bags, I said to myself "I don't see how this would be 63 cm long", but here it is...

It doesn't look a great build, could be fragile too, but i have to admit, it looks great from the pictures and the price seems much more realistic at £27.

But as others have said, its daft allowing them to be able to increase mid contract, lets face it, its really not that hard for them to predict a few months in advance, there are plenty of other service contracts where the price is fixed for the duration.

Well they were keeping with the rules before but some lazy customers, throwing notifications to rubbish bin, started to complain and of course Westminster & their lackeys in Ofcom got involved

BOOOM !

Nice! So you've paid £86 for the S8 & 2 months of usage? Did you order direct or via someone like mobiles.co.uk? Did you get an email notification of price increases?

Does this work on third-party contracts ie mobiles.co.uk? Took out a 24month contract for a Pixel 2 in Nov 2017 and would love to have the same ie leave free

It's not even close to being close. Being capable of processing a HDR signal doesn't mean a TV is capable of displaying it anything like it should actually appear. That doesn't mean that it's not fine for the price.

I was going to buy a Samsung 49mu6400 but felt this Sony was better, especially when it dropped to a price lower than the Samsung. In your opinion, given your dislike for this Sony, which sub-£500 TV should I have bought instead of this Sony?

I'm not an expert but it seems there are very few 4k Tvs for sub £500 which feature local dimming. However I have just come across this brand called TCL, which seems to have gotten some rave reviews recently for a particular model of theirs. The P series TVs can be had for 600 dollars. Apparently this TV is unavailable in the UK now, but is said to be the best budget TV around by reviewers and is being reviewed by UK sources so could be available soon. It apparently has a 10 bit panel, HDR 10 and HLG (and apparently supports dolby vision too) compatible, as well as having local dimming. If you can wait this TV might become available in the UK some time soon.

As for the Sony, if you just want it for gaming then you'll notice a difference. However, for general 4k content watching, and HDR performance you'll notice brightneess issues and underwhelming HDR performance and picture in general.
