Is this the same one that is also sold in Apple stores?
Picked one up from Bluewater (Kent) - nothing on display, but asked the manager and he said he’d check the stockroom. Came back with a brand new one sealed in plastic - he scanned it and then seemed reluctant to hand it over....lol.
They have a ‘few’ available he said. Also the Sphero Spider-Man is £74.99.

Yes i can confirm its national at £89.99
I phoned my local Disney store today and they’ve reduced them again to £89.99. Off to pick one up this weekend, so glad I didn’t buy one last week, I was tempted but at this price, it seems a bit of a no brainer. Might even try to get a price match from John Lewis to get the two year warranty.

Just to close the loop on this deal: mine arrived this morning. No time to try it yet...

The box is about the same size as a shoe-box: well packaged for a cheap toy from China. Delivered by the postman and he needed a signature.
Mine has arrived. Good for spins but not great for much else!
The steering is not proportional which I was expecting at this price so I find it hard to do circuits and not crash.
Goes pretty fast.
All in all not a bad purchase, I just need to get used to driving it.

They both have the fine motor skills of an out of control Wreckit Ralph.

They are pretty sturdy, they can take a fair amount of abuse especially in stock form.

The Grasshopper is not a car with good handling but with the stock 380 size motor it doesn't really have enough speed make it an issue. If you put something more powerful in it WILL spend a lot of time on it's roof which can be annoying. I have even put a brushless motor in mine and it's near undriveable but it all held up apart from the body work.

A grasshopper with the stock motor is ideal for beginners but if you wanted something more powerful then I would suggest skipping the Hornet because it's essentially the same chassis with a bigger 540 motor and struggles with the power. For a buggy that can handle a little power the Newer DT02 and DT03 models are far superior. The DT03 Neo Fighter is dirt cheap too and usually comes supplied with an uprated motor and proper oil dampers.

The Grasshopper/Hornet/Lunchbox type chassis has very crude rear suspension that essentially stops working whenever you are on the throttle because the gearbox is always trying to rotate the opposite direction to the wheels and the shock absorbers are right on the axis of rotation and so get pulled open and cannot compress. This is great fun but means the more power you have the worse the car handles with the rear end taking off every time you hit a bump because there's zero give in the suspension. The newer Chassis designs have fully independent suspension all round so handle better and can take more power without losing composure.

£40.77 now.

I've found a UK seller on ebay for £42 so tempted to get one from them, what are the battery run times like? And does anyone have a link for the spares?
BAD company to order from.
They spend ages processing orders and then when they do send them out you're even lucky if you receive it.
My first order never turned up and I mistakenly decided to try them again, wish I hadn't, because a week after placing the order its still processing.
guys and girls, can anyone please help me?

I bought and self built a subaru impreza rc car back in the day, and I got it out the loft to have a mess around with the dog, but the transmitter doesn't work anymore, some batteries leaked. How would I start going about repairing it? I assume I would needa new transmitter and uh... a gizmo to put on the car? Please help.

That would have been nicad and not lipo?
You can get one of these on eBay for just over £43. You will need to upgrade the pinion and drive gear cogs as they wear out pretty quickly but are relatively cheap as are all the parts but it's still a good quick little car for the money.

Anyone know If this is any good for this type of thing at this price range ?

Update : The penny has now dropped , me thinks this refers to the range of the transmitter / receiver lol , this would be perfectly acceptable as you probably couldn't see the damn thing anyway at that distance.
