I bought this last year - the cars were broken within a day so wouldn't recommend. It has different cars to the normal scalextric, however Amazon were really good about a refund. Amazon reviews have 34% giving a 1 star review so I am not alone in the disappointment of the product
All Scalextric Discounts, Offers and Sale - August 2018
I remember people scrambling over this when it was reduced from c£100 to £60 before xmas. At £40 it’s a steal. Just purchased one to put in the away in the loft for next Xmas 40p quidco as well - all helps £39.60 :D
Yeah, I got this for nephew at Xmas to see if it's something that he would like
Very good find
Are the controllers adjustable to limit the speed?
They had one in my local down to £30 three days ago. Should have posted, didn’t realise it was such a good price!
Slough Tesco extra
Thanks @Talibmania which store did you find these?
saw plenty in widnes and warrington, yesterday though!
Anyone spotted any around South Wales?
just seen a bunch of these in tesco Bury if anyone is interested.
Thanks anessi. I wondered if it would be because a lot of the reduced toys posted on here are the same price in the St Rollox store.
That’s right, I remember seeing it on HUKD Playpennies at the time.
Saw these at £35 around October last year in Wigan.
Oh so it's full stops now......lol (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol) (lol)
I concur, one lane works fine but the other one had major issues. There was too much power (tried adjusting the power on the controller) and car would fly off, sections of the track doesn't work. Ive tried all the known remedies, brushed and blew every part of the track, replaced braids and put the tracks back together. I'm gonna exchange for another one to see if this is just the odd dud one. Maybe I got the one you returned! lol
This one has an automatic lap counter and a hairpin bend section of track. the amazon one has more layout possibilities and an option to elevate the track.. otherwise not much to choose in between them other than the car models ;)
Would anyone know which is better this one or the one on amazon for £20.00 ? thanks
Me too, still got it, tempted with this just to add on to the 4 sets we now join together, the things we do for our kids ( not ourselves obviously)
I just did exactly the same - jinx!
Great, bought as an extension for micro rally set for my little one (and me)! :p
Build quality on the cars is pretty poor. Tyres often rub against shell.
He's always playing with himself, so why not? ;-)
Bought this last year can't say I was that impressed with it. The metal connectors frayed quite quickly and the cars were temperamental.
Heat - worth it just for the cars!
Thanks for posting. Great last minute surprise pressie for my teenage son and husband to play with on Christmas day!
I think most did! OOS after 7 minutes of posting. (:I
We have both, the kids get out the Scalextric much much more. Anki are cars are slow compared to Scalextric. They are different beasts, buy both, but get a cheaper digital Scalextric set.
Why is it soooo expensive? Still don't get it 🤔🤔
1:1 scale at this price?
What does it mean 'digital plug ready' .. These aren't digital?
I try not to let my kids enter the digital era because they will miss out on nostalgia like this
yes, last 3 sold out now.
Out of stock ?
Good little app for slot cars. And obviously a few extra straights make it better too.
Out of stock....
Great price. Scalextric just never gets old.
Thanks. Can't argue with that price. Stocking filler for 5 yr old (and me) Ordered.
Thanks!! Just ordered 😜
003.5? Kitten Galore?
Thanks will be taking it back then buying it back
Now £39.99 with that code, cheers!
You can't beeeeaaaat Scalextric :)
I always wanted a new Argos.
Sainsburys selling it off cheap already?
No, see my comment, no. 2, above.
£106.95 now. (3 in stock)
Out of stock, but still available to order for delivery under Other Sellers on rigt hand side
Niiiiiiice and thanks for posting :0)
Back in stock this morning, just bagged one for the kids.
Just saw this in my local Asda, its now £40! Checked, online price has dropped to £40 too.
Was on my grandsons Christmas list..thanks for post.
Ordered for the Grandkids for Christmas. Perfect first scalextric! Thanks op. Great price.
Heat. 1 Christmas present down,
Plus double discount for asda colleagues today and tomorrow. ... which is 20% off on total price in store & online...
Even with 15% it's still not as cheap as last week
Great lunch box price heataaaggeee !!!!
That's odd; PRIMEDAY didn't work for me only PRIMEDAY17.
Both work it seems, their email said just PRIMEDAY, that's where got it from.
Lego Friends Cupcake Cafe was £24.95, it's now £36.02. Even with the 15% off code it's too expensive. Can't see anything in the Lego Friends range worth getting at these prices.
ah smart! :p
How handy are you with a saw and some glue? Take the chassis of a scalextric car, glue on the body of a train. Best of both worlds ;)
would this be suitable for my dad or is a train track more grown up? :p
Yes does include two damage resistant cars. A big advantage of arc over digital is you can use any slot car pretty much, great if you've got kids as scalextric are £40 rrp each now, pretty gutting when they go flying off into the wall at the first bend!
The pic should be the one with the box, if you just use the one with track people will think that's all you get
Using code LMVQL gives 20% off at Very making the Hornby set £47.99 (code valid for existing customers, expires 11 June). Still don't know if my son needs it though!
If it's the Royal Mail postal train it'll arrive late with damage to the carriage...
I agree its currently the same price at a number of other retailers including Very so whilst a good price (compared to the RRP) not really a great deal
I love Hornby but the Postal Express set sells for £60 to £70 odd elsewhere (£59.99 at Very). The £120 Tesco quote is the rrp so I think they were selling at too high a price to start with. Still anything to do with Hornby gets my vote.
