My god Rob gravatt, that name takes me back, Sierra cosworth's, BMW M3's. Great racing, touring cars has always been my favourite.

Used to love scalextric, although mine was mid eighties with the Escort and Datsun. Tried to get the kids into it but they didn't feel the magic ;(

(lol) (lol) (lol) It's a decent car, one of my favourites! 8) (y)

Ha, my son has a massive track that we fill the room with occasionally. We have this Sierra already, there's a few more cars in the prime deals too...

I still have the cosworth Scalextric set from the 90's with Sierras in them... i am so tempted to buy this as an addition to the pair!! EDIT: Bought - was too tempting to pass up! I hate Prime day, My wife will hate me, when she sees the junk items i bought on prime day turn up tomorrow. (fierce)

I had abad experience with Micro Scalextrc. It's v cheaply made. Such a shame.

Reviews say the quality is pretty poor. Shame as I would have gotten it as a starter set for my kids, but if adults are breaking it then it won't last five minutes with the kids

I love the realism... Police and Fire Service actually racing to a job (lol)

Update 1
Update price drop from £13.77 to £11.72 on 27/05
Cheapest I've seen this Scalextric extension pack: Scalextric C8555 Track Extension Pack 6 - 8 x Radius 3 Curve 22.5° Track Accessory. Keeps dropping in price.

Even cheaper now: Scalextric C8555 Track Extension Pack 6 - 8 x Radius 3 Curve 22.5° Track Accessory

I’ll keep my deal eyes 👀 peeled.

Bear in mind that these are radius 3 curves. The ones that come with the sets are mostly radius 2. Adding some radius 3 curves can add some variety because they can be taken at a faster speed. They also give more layout options and can also help make the most of floor space.

GREAT price. Didn't need but bought anyway...

ordered yesterday, arrived today. Super quick that!

I found the modern stuff more boring as the cars have magnets on the bottom (or at least the set I tried did) making it really hard to spin out. The cars are also more reliable so less tinkering. I think the memories do play tricks too - Lets face it, it was exciting when you'd never driven a car/played photo realistic graphics on a console!

I had Scalextric in the 1980s and it was brilliant, had a huge semi-permanent setup in the loft. Can still smell the WD40 and the sparking brushes. Around 2010 I bought a kit, a bit like this one and it was rubbish. Is modern Scalextric rubbish compared to the older stuff? Or are my childhood memories playing tricks?

Is this mains or battery powered? Edit: just watched an unboxing video: Its mains powered (y)
