Hey everyone,
So I'm going to be buying some furniture from Argos soon, spending £500 - £600.
Are there any deals, vouchers, offers etc (including credit cards, PayPal) that I can utilize to reduce the spend?
I just remembered that a few years back there was the "Buy £100 Gift Card, Get £10 Free" deal - I ideally, I would have bought 5 of them and saved £50. Anything like that nowadays?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Second this
Agreed.
That is exactly what we are looking at, plus a bookshelf to match. The ebay store is currently cheaper than the Argos site, but the Argos site includes a mattress.
Guess it's just pot luck when it comes to a voucher though!
You can save a further 2% (£7.92) if you pay by bank transfer instead of credit card.
Don't forget to use any accumulated Nectar points.
However, Airtime Rewards will only be payable on anything that you pay with your credit / debit card. So, theoretically,
£600 - £429.99 = £170.01 to pay on the card @ 4% (£5.80) cashback on Airtime Rewards, plus £34.40 for the gift card, plus the bank transfer saving, will mean a total saving of £48.22, before spending / receiving Nectar points.
You must make your own decision when it comes to spending your money, but I can safely say that I have probably spent over £2000 in the last 2 years using them. I have recommended to friends, some who have jumped at the savings, others who consider 5 - 20% to be "not worth the hassle".
The cards are normal gift cards, but are mostly issued as e-cards. You can use them as you would expect.
It can be a bit of a faff buying numerous cards to get to the total you want, but I am sure your time, in minutes, is more than paid back in £s.
You will need to bear in mind the sales terms of your target store. For example, Argos will take no more than 3 vouchers online, but go in store and you can just show them at the pay desk.
Marks and Spencers have some useless scanners on the food checkouts, so you might be a while as they manually type in a 20 digit code per card. Yet the clothing dept can scan properly. It's probably worth taking your fresh lobster burger upstairs.
If you use Google Play, then you could buy a card at 15% discount, save another 2% on the total fee, and then buy your yearly subscription to Google One, at their discounted rate, and end up paying about £67.76 for their £80 service, and qualify for "10% back in store credit on Google Store purchases" (edited)

Thanks, however, we have looked at IKEA, and they don't have what we need. We have spent two weeks looking at various furniture outlets, and this particular set has all of the bits and bobs that are needed.
Haha, thanks, forewarned is forearmed!
I use airtime rewards too. Recommended.
Good shout - I'll check both mine and my wife's first. Thanks!
We bought tv stand from Argos and it was really rubbish. But we also bought two arm chairs that are very good.
Great work there
Thanks for this comprehensive post.
I've never heard of Cardyard - is it reputable?
Thank you, that's really helpful.
Yup, and typically doesn't include the actual bed that we are looking at!
8% with cardyard, with an option of a further 2%
