Are we all in agreement that beer tastes way better when drank from a bottle?

Feel like this is something I’ve recently discovered over the Christmas holidays.

Different receptacle depending on meal. I like can with junkfood like kebabs. Bottle with steaks. And then skulls of my enemies after sacking a village.

A good beer in a good pub easily beats a bottle.

    No.
The sense of smell goes hand in hand with the taste of anything.
If you drink from a bottle, you are removing the smell factor and not getting the full pleasure.

Agreed, but the same applies to the can. Pouring a bottle into a glass and pouring a can into a glass still favours the bottle (in my opinion).

It certainly tastes better from a bottle compared to a can

    But that's not the question.

I think its also better than in a glass. Love putting a bottle in the freezer to chill then it being ice cold after a hour. Nothing better than that.. pouring it into a glass would ruin it.

To be honest, I’d drink it if it was poured into a dog bowl.

I find fresh beer, very chilled to nearly starts taking to freeze taste the best

Drinking FROM a bottle is the question, not bought in a bottle

Draught is best and that's technically from a can ( metal keg)

I think it could perhaps depend on the type of beer you are drinking. Drinking a pilsner style lager from a chilled bottle might well taste better than drinking it from a glass as it might stay cooler for longer and having less aroma released it could seem more thirst quenching and to hit the spot nicely.

But with something like a Begian ale that has a more complex profile you'd want the opposite, to pour it in to a chalice glass to capture the aroma and let it retain a head so it should smell and taste much better than swigging it from the bottle. (edited)

    I feel that's a major assumption .......

@ Lil6ix can you clarify if you mean bottled beer drank straight from the bottle..

a/ instead of poured into a glass

b/ instead of drank from a can

c/ instead of canned beer poured into a glass

d/ instead of draft from a glass

also can you elaborate on 'beer', i.e. which type..
    cannotthinkofone's avatar
OP has already clarified that using a glass would ruin the beer......

Best is draught served in a frozen pint glass tankard

Maybe I'm in the minority but I think beer doesn't taste nice in any form

All beer should be in a glass.

Very much depends on who paid for it .
