Would this be good for small kids

rachelandgromit

Well I was able to book the car hire online to the checkout so I would guess so as normally care hir places are open to meet the planes. The alternative would be to get a taxi to the accommodation which should be fairly cheap and collect the hire car next morning back at the airport. The airport is only 3-4 miles away so it shouldn't be expensive getting there and back if you don't want to drive at night when you arrive. With the first night I'd book the accommodation, it's free cancellation anyway, so you can email and explain your late arrival and if they can't accommodate it just book an alternative. Definitely you do not want two nights in the ice hotel, trust me! Bear in mind you're using the toilets at the nearby cable car station, which are fine for the night but there are no bathrooms so to speak, shower etc. One night is plenty, you can get there early for snow activities, walking, etc and looking around, you'll go to bed in the ice hotel, then next morning get up and do what you want and leisurely leave. You'll want a warm bed!

lovetolaugh

That is really great to know hun. It is my boyfriend's birthday 1st of January and I would love to book us a cheap adventure like this in January. I am just worried that I will do it all wrong as it would be nice to have two nights in the ice hotel aswell. Arriving so late at the airport on the first night, would it still be possible to pick up the hire car then? And also, would it be too late to get into the first hotel's accomodation as that is quite late for someone to let us in? Sorry for all of the questions x

rachelandgromit

No problem. The ice hotel is an amazing experience especially for people that don't want to do the one in Sweden that don't have the serious money to do that trip!

lovetolaugh

Thankyou very much. This is an amzi g deal and I really love seek g deals like this. Really appreciate you taking the time to do this and hope that there will be more x

Thanks for the tip on duty free prices, was going to buy at Luton.

Ideal peak time aurora viewing Jan-Feb. When we got married on June 1 between 9-10pm it was daylight and we had 22 hours of daylight, so if you want spring weather and daylight then definately later in the year.

Ana10

Which transport would you suggest to use from the airport to the hotel and vice versa?

Emily666

How much do they charge now??!

zaheer2003

Yes it was disgraceful behaviour, I'm surprised that no one sorted that guy out, the woman was a bit of a dope, she didn't really stand up for herself and deal with that guy after he assaulted her. And I've no ideal why they keep saying that he can't be prosecuted after he used racist language.

slate2014

To teach them a lesson Other scenarios- they would have had the passenger thrown off for sure

Please check if this covers Luton airport. If it doesn't, you pay another £2 for the bus from Luton Airport Parkway station to the actual airport. Buying the train ticket to Luton Airport "station" is an extra £1.50 and covers the bus ride.

plath

group save means you have to travel as part of a group of three (or more). if you don't follow the terms and conditions of the ticket you will be liable to a penalty fare of £20 or twice the single fare from your originating station to the station your arrive at (whichever is greater). and "i didn't know" will not be taken as a valid excuse (unless you're a really fit bird).

I was in Amsterdam last week and it's busy but didn't have any issues at all. It's very safe and such a beautiful city. Maybe if you are in the main stretch of the red light district at 2am on a friday night/saturday morning it might be different, but even when i was walking through the red light district at almost midnight on a thursday, everything was fine. no different to walking through Leicester square in London when it's busy. Also the red light district is only a few streets in the middle (De Wallen) - if you are easily worried/bothered then just don't visit it and stick to places around the very nice Herengracht, Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht Canals

corrineleroy

It's really a good deal~ thx

I went a month ago and stayed in a different XO hotel and it was really nice (XO city centre is only £40 a night if you don't mind a room under ground without a window (lol) ). If you fly I'd recommend getting a transport card from Schiphol airport, at the IAmsterdam shop because all Amsterdam transport is card only, unless you have the correct change each time.

oliver1989

Brilliant city !!! The drugs are a bonus (party)

I go almost every month, usually by car. It’s still lovely and feels safer than London.

Tui have some great last minute deals if you're prepared to hang on until 1-2 weeks before departure. Far better than Jet 2 or Thompson.

AnonAnonAgain

Spent my first holiday abroad here for 2 weeks around 8 years ago, don't remember the pool lookin like that but the inside seems the same. Was a lovely place but it is on the top of a very steep hill (if that bothers you it's only a few euro for a cab from town). Although it's probably not the same now there was a bar/apartments called scala (run by christos and vangelis) down the hill that was fantastic and even let us have a room for free on our last night. Not a short walk to the beach but pleasant, there's also a land train that'll take you there, also its shingle not sand (y)
