If there is no hole it would be like a pressure cooker? If the lid is closed strong enough or blocked it could lead to a possible health and safety issue. In short: I am happy that it has an air hole. I think we all should.

Deal. Have this model and it is much used. Is starting to rust but nothing from George Home seems designed to last more than a year or two. We'll be looking to get something bigger but as our first slow cooker this has been great.

A good price, but I think the product is not as good as oval shape slow cookers. This is because the lid has an air hole in it, this releasing the built up temperature. Hot for price, but I won't buy this again.
