Cheers. As I say, it doesn't make sense. Thank you in anticipation.

The nutritional information is per portion as all values are too low to be for the whole dish. I think I will write to them and ask. Will let you know their response

Um... that doesn't make sense. The carbs figure is for the whole dish, surely? If you want, for example, a 4 carb portion then just divide the whole dish by 10 ie ten portions. If you want a 20 carb portion then eat half of the total dish.

Thanks, that’s a bit of pita though? Forgive me if I am being stupid here but.. For example a Black Beans and Mushroom Chili has: Nutritional Information: Calories: 306 kcal, Fats: 10 grams, Carbohydrates: 40 grams, Protein: 18 grams To work out how many portions there is for this I would need to work out how many carbs for example are in all of the ingredients and divide that by 40. Thus giving me the number of servings.

I didn't mean that each meal was four portions. I meant just divide up by number of portions to get the figures and used four as an example. Obviously it depends upon how large your portions are, but looking at the size and quantity of the ingredients should give you a good idea. Apologies for any confusion.

Bit on the small side!

Yes - but I couldn't find anywhere to get it in the UK any more. I think it was 3 x 2.2l pots which would have been good...1.3l pots are just too small for us.

It's in the OP, c'mon (nerd)

How many litres? More details..... c'mon

So that's the reason the sites gone to pot thanks i never knew this.

Yeah I wasn't meaning to criticise this as it's a tenner at the end of the day. If I get the slow cooker out it's normally to do a big dish for the family though, and this is way smaller than mine. 3 litres sounds like more than it is, so I was just warning folk!

i just measured mine, the internal dimentions are 7" wide by 4.5" tall itl do half a leg of Lamb whereas the oval morphy richards one will just about do a whole leg

3 litre isn't very big at all. My Pyroflam hob to cooker dish is 3 litres and doesn't fit a great deal in.

i got one bought for me a few months ago, not used it yet but noticed the lid doesnt fit very well and it seems quite small even though its 3L, i would have preffered the 3.5L oval morphy richards one but as this was a gift i cant take it back :(

Excellent bit of kit, had it a couple of weeks now and after some adjustment it’s great for our small kitchen. One proviso is that it does run quite hot for a slow cooker so if you’re expecting something you can leave on for 8 hours plus you’ll be very disappointed as it’ll boil it to death (as I found out the first couple of times I used it). After using it on high to cook for 3-4 hours in an evening it worked much better. I’d get this if you’d prefer to cook on high for 3-4 hours but if you want a slow cooker to leave on whilst you’re at work I’d look for a different slow cooker.

"New other" at eBay for £31.95 Looks like a nice design with the base fitting inside the pot for storage.

The Andrew James Digital Slow Cooker is fully automatic and features a handy timer delay function that lets you set the cooker away even if you aren’t present. You can then cook food for up to 20 hours on 3 different heat settings so your meal is perfectly cook just when you need it. Your cooker will automatically switch to the WARM setting once the timer is up so your dinner stays ready for serving even if you are delayed.

I wonder about this too, I think it might be handy for vegetable dishes or perhaps for a 1-2 hour delay. The useful feature of this for me is the auto switch to 'keep warm' after a pre-determined time.

I'm not sure if I understand the use of the delayed timer function. Say I'm cooking meat and want a 12 hour delay, this means I've got meat sat on the countertop at room temperature for 12 hours getting all bacteria-heavy. Is slow cooking hot enough to kill off that bacteria again during the cooking stage?

Yup, Red only. Bit of a shame - won't been keeping mine out on the worktop ;)

Shame they don't have it in silver.

parsimony: I think that this one from Argos is much better value at £17.99 I just purchased this one, the ceramic bowl has a couple of like pimples in ceramic coating, will that be OK?

I bought one for myself and another for my daughter and both have seen a fair amount of use without a problem. They all work in pretty much the same way to be honest.

They are indeed too good to be true.

I know I prefer Amazon, for the customer services. I ordered one last week, came with a little dent in ceramic pot. Amazon sent pre paid label no problem. There service is fantastic.

Looks ok, any big differences?
