Had the Arctis 3 but the mic wobbles around on it's own and it's really annoying, my old turtle beach XOThree sounds much better and was half the price.

No idea as I have not used either but I do know the 1s are lower end and if it was a similar price the 1s would have been wireless where these are wired.

Knowing nothing about this topic, how do these compare to the Arctis 1 sets posted recently for a similar price?

I bought some series 7s for my PS4 and whilst they were very comfortable the volume was rubbish. Even after connecting to my PC to adjust the levels... I have sold them now. Shame.

(y) This will help, vital information. I also hate how online reviews from PC magazines, tech sites etc. all list the same top 10 mice and similar write ups. Then you go to Amazon and the user reviews are complete opposite from the buying public. But I suppose that comes down to paid reviews/free products/sponsorships. It makes things so hard to purchase.

I know mate its riduculus. have look on this website. If you are looking for a mouse it can help.

Aaaaaargh. Why are all these devices so shoddy?

I have second Rival 310 within 2 years and I can say its rubbish, 1st one I claimed twice, 1st time for grips second time for grips and double click, got sent second one and after year grips fell off again and few weeks ago i spotted double click too. One word "CRAP" Im tempted to buy Logitech G502 hero but atm is overpriced for me.

I think with build quality issues, you’re always going to get them, and people are much more likely to leave bad reviews than good ones. If you can wait for the 600 to go on sale at Currys, you can usually get it for around £50 and you’d get 6 months Spotify too atm, maybe play in gloves to make sure your rubber doesn’t degrade (lol) I’ve never liked others, I had a R.A.T for a while because they’re supposed to be up there, but hated the Logitech ones. I think because I started with SS and just really liked it, I’ve never gone back (lol)

That is a shame, the set I bought for my dad have been great. Fit the bill for a starter set for him and his racing setup

2 DOA reviews out of 3..not good for QC!

I bought this a few days ago, the sound quality is ok, mic is good but the 3.5mm jack build quality is terrible, every-time I touch the jack the right ear side either cuts out or becomes quiet. Also after that, you need to unplug and plug it back in otherwise the others on party chat will get echos or interference noises.

Haha. They seem like a decent headset especially for £35, which is why I’m risking buying it again

Ah man that is pants. But how was the left ear? (lol)

Okay so this arrived today, I'd also ordered a cherry red xtrfy from overclockers on the advice that they are quieter. Having trying them both side by side I just prefer the softer feel of the steel series, they are much quieter and have this nice almost rubberised matt feel. Going to try some more gaming and see how I feel but just not sold on mechanical switches tbh.

Not all reviews are bad most are very good and rate this keyboard though I purchased the Apex 5 and its awesome with the rival 650 wireless mouse

looks really good! Was just about to purchase it too and then i came accross this review:

Get some quieter keys. I'm using the Cherry Silents and they're awesome.

Wireless version is supposedly plagued with a 'hissing' white noise. Steelseries and others put this down to the wireless connection or some nonsense - but basically it shouldn't exist in a nearly £300 wireless headset.

Why is the top rated review someone who purchased (verified) the wireless versions of these for £152 yet he hates them and gave it 2 stars? That’s a red flag to me (fierce)

Good point, and something that would need confirmation from Steelseries themselves imagine. On PS4 the USB is for the Mic.

Not sure if i agree. I have a pair and the build quality is brilliant and the materials used are solid. I definitely wouldn’t say they’re overpriced, i don’t think you can get much better for the money.

Received mine today but will be sending back. Mic is good, nothing like a studio mic but good nonetheless. Very light and comfy. I'm finding that it's picking up sound leak from the headset. People talking to me are hearing themselves twice. Tested the sound setting on Modern Warfare and can see the mic pick up audio coming out the headset. May just be my mobo though.

Yeh I missed that deal. Turtle Beach Stealth 450 are £55 direct at the moment. I've always been wireless, love the freedom of not being tethered. From my research, only mic quality suffers in wireless.

Doubtful that you'd get a branded wireless set for £50. We got the Corsair HS70 SE Wireless 7.1 headset from Currys a few months back for £69.99, but they look to be £89.99 everywhere now. When I was researching wireless headsets, the majority of the advice was to stay away from wireless if you want any kind of quality sound. I find them fine, but then i'm not doing competitive gaming.

No no no. I game so need a proper branded one but within 50£. A Steel Series would be great! always like thier style.

Not bought any yet. Found a few more choices I'm considering, corsair hs50 and also the hyperx cloud stinger. If your looking for WFH only, the Arctis is probably best for you. I've watched a few YouTube vids on the mic and it sounds good.

Please which one did you finally go for ? I am looking for a WFH headset with excellent noise cancelling function and comfort , so will appreciate a feedback. Thanks.

I think it's down to personal preference. The pricing is now what you call *fair* considering how much the airpods, buds etc cost. I've got a pair of Harmon Kardom, Sennheisers & Sony headsets and I always find myself going back to the Bose due to the clarity and bass that they offer. However I did purchase & return the Bose Soundsport True Wireless buds because of the sync issues that they had when connected to av equipment & mic/earpiece only on one bud for calls, however, once again, I couldn't fault the sound quality though but the wired ones that I currently use, did sound better.

same price at currys online been this price for a while.

Definitely the best headset I have owned. Great battery life, and comfort. I am no expert by any means, but I think the sound quality is really good. The surround sound works a treat on Siege, can really tell direction of shots etc. Could use some more bass I think for music? These are especially good if you use discord. The headset features a dial that alters the balance between discord Voice chat and in game sound. The mic is very very directional, its a tad annoying to have to move it to be perfectly placed.

You could probably use the optical output from the Xbox with the right cable (S/PDIF to 3.5mm? I think they exist) but I think you would only get audio out. It's only a short wire going between the headset and the controller though so it's still pretty much wireless, not like the old Turtle Beach headset with 5 metres of cable traipsed across the living room.

Anyone know if the little transmitter doodad has an optical input? I currently use a Creative SoundBlaster Recon3D Omega wireless headset and the hub has an optical input that I just hook up to the optical port on my TV so that ALL audio going through the TV (irrespective of input) can come through to the headphones. But those headphones are mostly held together with superglue now and the 7 years I've had them has taken a big toll on the battery life! I use a lot of different devices via the TV (Netflix/Prime apps on the TV, PS4, Xbox, Laptop, USB drives).

Not sure if this works for xbox but I don't see why it wouldn't. If you have an aux cable you can plug it into the audio transmitter (above) in the audio input, your controller will have to have a wire plugged in but the headset should be wireless but again Im not sure if it works on xbox and stuff like the mic might not work. Also you can have two separate audio sources playing to your headset at once if you use the "input in" and an aux cable.

The Arctis 9x is great in itself if you excluded my circumstances. Only issue I have with it is that I find the audio to be a tad too low

The Pro Headset is pretty good... the only downfall is the annoying plastic creeking sound that you can clearly hear every time you move your head.

I’ve got this headset when i had a 1X now gaming on PC and have the dongle it’s hit and miss tbf but i purchased a blue yeti and it works amazingly well via 3.5mm not had any issue + steel series offer the best in class comfort which is an A+ from me.

I’ve got the Pro + GameDAC and it’s excellent. Also very comfortable. Played for hours with it on and forgot I was even wearing it. My friends report that the mic is good too.

Meh headset or a good headset?
