Yeah they aren't exactly accurate, but I use it more to give me a rough idea of the temps inside my demi-johns.

samcatch 56p delivered on Amazon (I have prime, no idea on non-prime delivery price)

Used to use similar for home brew temperature readings can be a little off..

Not knocking this, but there are loads of these for the same price on eBay. I bought a few for my homebrew a few weeks ago from the link below. 99p for one, then discounts for every extra (2 for £1.69, 3 for £2.29, etc). Exactly the same item as the one you've listed.

Yes I got one around 3 months back also bought fish tank artificial plant set for 49p

Does this work with IFTTT?

Looks good, but what's the benefit of Bluetooth? The display looks big enough that if you're within Bluetooth range, you'll be able to see it anyway.

I had two of these together (one belonging to a friend) and there was a discrepancy of 1.5 degrees. Never trusted it since.

21.99 now..

They do mention this one too. Nothing stops in stock for long in the Tesco Direct sale , you have to be quick or you miss out. Tesco site seems to be down now, wonder if it is getting too much traffic. Can't even track my orders. Site now back up - think they have now sold out of these , link goes to one at £21.99

That is the second generation Gro egg which is no longer in stock

I’m trying to make up my mind on which one to buy for my wife, I’m her carer and need something reliable for when she is poorly.

According to Braun’s site, the top 2 make a point of having a Pre-warmed Tip but the Scan 3 doesn’t mention it. :/

I was going by this on Amazon.

All braun one pre heat

Backlit display, temperature display for various age ranges, storage case which also holds the spare tips. Should also be more accurate than the cheapest one as it pre warms prior to taking temperature. All in all worth the extra few pounds.

Ear replacements are on offer at the moment on amazon

Boots sell the filters, very expensive though. Most eBay and Amazon sellers are either expensive or fake. That's why they sell the actual thermometer so cheap!

Does anyone know where you can buy the ear replacements?.

Theres a reason the NHS use these, mine has been faultless.

Very durable. Use it in my GP practice

Thanks OP, just ordered for our second baby due later in the year. Read a few reviews and looked pretty positive - anyone have any experience with this one?

Yes definitely the best ones on the market. I agree. They were using them when I was in hospital last week :)

Had one, it broke, bought a Tommy tippee one. Wish we'd bought another one of these instead. Best one on the market imo

If this helps anyone - I returned mine. A nice idea from a reputable brand, however it always showed a higher temperature compared to conventional thermometers. Some measurements were over a degree higher, setting false alarms. Also, be aware that these thermometers are not manufactured by Braun, they are manufactured under their licence.

I've noticed most GP surgery's and NHS wards use the Braun infrared inner ear model which I purchased because of this. The Braun range seem to be accurate and highly recommended.

We've got this and it's brilliant. Never had any problems with it. When my two are ill I can take their temp without them waking.

I’ve never used this one but only last night I ordered a HuBDIC HFS-900 Infrared Thermometer. From eBay. £34. The HuBDIC’s are great. I use them at work (NHS). Korean made.

Reviews ain’t brilliant

which Boots, there is 2

A word of advice if you don’t mind, this looks like a very impractical idea. It comes with only 10 pads - assuming that the pads actually stay on, that’s a 10 use thermometer. The review says that you have to shake it for it to activate, not sure about others, but shaking a baby is not a good idea and shaking this beforehand and then quickly sticking it on might be tricky to say the least. There is no good reason to stick a thermometer on a baby, it’s not like you have to monitor their temperature all the time. You’ll know to take their temperature if required. The Bluetooth aspect is just a gimmick. Get a normal thermometer if you really need to keep one.

Thank you. So it’s national then.

And hotter. When you get it (eventually) let me know what it's like so I can say "I told you so!". :D

I posted a real world review here - it's hopeless - don't bother - but still it gets hot. I wonder about HUKD sometimes! :/

I'm keeping an eye out for a deal on the Xiaomi temperature sensors. I'm not sure about the accuracy with these things but at least the battery life should be decent.

Anything over £15 gets import duty/vat + deferment charge. Customs doesn’t wavier it but you might find the shipper has paid it.

£2.83 for a humidity meter? Yeah, you're not gonna get accurate results from that.

Haha, yeah, I'm no Einstein but I've tried all permutations, thanks though! (nerd)

Not trying to be smart but have you put them in the right way? When you look into this battery compartment there are 2 springs at the bottom that would suggest the flat part of the battery or the minus terminal normally goes to these but only 1 does .

I received mine on Friday, but it doesn't even turn on. I've tried a range of AAA batteries too, but still no luck.

need one of these when you go on the pull what`s hot and what`s not.

I used them about 6/7 weeks ago. All went well, I will use them again.

Don't think this one will be better... only way to get true thermometer is to finish all this "safety" crap and get back to old fashioned mercury thermometers. BTW, maybe someone know a place where to get one? Some blackmartket on TOR or anything? :D

You've ever been to Norfolk ...have you?

Thanks op,was about to buy one full price, perfectly timed deal. Bought a Knietic St Johns Ambulance one from Tesco but it was reporting my mums temp as being 40 one minute and 34 the next, complete piece of garbage. The district nurses use these Braun ones and they recommended them.
