Made in illegally occupied areas of west bank by Israeli company.

e.g. If you're using a hand plane it wouldn't be stable but it would be OK for a power plane. I've got one but the first one I had, the plastic bit at the base of the leg snapped when folding it away, was very brittle, maybe they've fixed it now.

In my opinion, this table is very wobbly, nowhere near stable - I do lots of DIY and I own one for 3 years now, I use it for odd job that doesn't require stability. Why do people think it's stable?

didn't have any stock close by but got same price on Amazon. Have to go to other sellers and choose Amazon, its back ordered due about 3rd of July. Cheers Op

Just another update now totally unusable But survived a bathroom and kitchen renovation If you are not confident with power tools and jigsaws especially avoid as too flimsy

Helpful (annoyed)

This is a useless piece of trash. The metalwork is of such thin gauge you can bend the frame without trying! At £1.99 I would still give it a miss. Better option at Olson's on special . . .

TC has this: "Place a reserve and pay-instore or purchase online for collection in store on for £10 or more between Friday 1st December and Wednesday 6th December 2017 and receive a free £5 voucher and spend between Tuesday 26th December and Monday 8th January 2018 inclusive. The voucher will be issued in store on payment or collection of the product ordered." So, if click and collect, you need two trips. Not for me as my nearest store is in more than 10 miles away :( Heat anyways for the deal :)

Get a couple of the Saw horses and probably 4 x 8" or bigger quick clamps. Works fine for me, though I fudge it with only 2 clamps. Should buy more.

Make sure you buy 2. One is not good enough. Very flimsy. I purchased 2 last time and it is perfect.

I got one of these a long while ago. Chopped some wood outside and forgot about it. Its been outside about a year and its still like new haha!

As others have mentioned it clearly says £2.99 delivery

The Aldi saw horses are definitely better for sawing on and more stable but lack the ability to hold items whilst sawing or planing or chiseling items that will fit that you might want to do at a later date. Stability with these will decrease the more you use them. The choice is yours.

Bought two, two broke. Bought 2 of the cheapest b&d workmates for a little more, both still work and have had a lot more abuse with no problems. Honestly, don't bother... False economy buying this tat.

you get what you pay for.. I got it som etime ago and not happy... Piece of crap.. Legs very fragile, very small. I regret spending £10 on it.

I was going to suggest getting a genuine Workmate from Amazon for £12, but unfortunately they've put the price up. It was £12 for months.

Go to Ceylon and get yourself a tea chest along with a nubile native to hold your wood. Much better option!

Flimsy, wobbly, infact more sturdy before you put it together, throw the work bench away and use the box

"Homebase have ULTIMATE 72 inch 15 draw steel workbench" Why would you want to draw it 15 times?

I saw this instore, I thought it was something only a few stores had. It looked really good to me, very solid and the drawers were very smooth running. The Homebase one had a years warranty whereas the SGS one had 10 years warranty. Personal choice whether that was worth the extra.

Mate the only thing i've lost is time to a troll who acts like a 5 year old and £20 on cheap tat that can't do anything near what it's advertised to do. I know the deals over now, but for anyone looking at these... don't be as tight as I was and spend a little more on something that'll actually last and work for any diy job you'd need to use it for in the future. Who buys a workbench just for cutting some plastic guttering? Mental.

Don't split hairs mate, you've lost.

Right, where exactly does it say light duty on maplins page? it says max load 70kg! they're also not cabinets, it was holding cheap studwork spread over 2 of these which weighs less than 10kg just so I could saw it. These formed the uprights for shelving units. The rest of the assembly was done on my patio using repurposed palettes from my work. Also, how does the weight it was holding have any bearing on the handles snapping from turning? What a troll. Beginning to think you have a financial stake in their sales how you're defending this cheap tat. You've wasted enough of my time.

You're not doing it right. It's not designed for building cabinets mate. What part of "light duty" don't you understand?! What makes you think a £10 bench would be man enough for that? I have used it sawing plastic guttering, holding things while paint spraying, clamping things together being glued with epoxy, drilling pilot holes though various items, keeping things firm when using a heat gun etc, etc. If you're trying to use things heavier than the bench itself you should buy a more expensive bench fit for purpose, not breaking it by overloading it and then complaining it's the bench's fault!

These are OK but the legs use a very brittle plastic, when I was folding mine up the legs use a kind of "lever/fulcrum" system to pack the table together. Something was obviously not aligned right inside so the force on the top bit of the leg ended up snapping it off! Whole table rendered useless. Luckily it was under warranty and Screwfix replaced it, but it's obviously a known fault as I noticed the replacement had bright yellow warning tape on it saying "Don't use the legs to open the table". Also it is a faff to open and close, there's not much tolerance.

Are the newer non-cheap ones bad too? Someone was selling an old one near me recently for a tenner, it went quick, I would have bought it for the new price of current ones!

I got this from screwfix for £30 its not bad not brilliant I have one side locks easy one is a pain and its a bit heavier & bulkier than I thought it would be but it is sturdy has some cons to a B&D but has more pro's for me. Glad I only paid £30 for it myself but this is the best price you can get for one at the moment.

use this code to get it for £40 CLUBD86S4 it's £10 off £50 so you'll have to add something for a fiver

Bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. Just thought £45 was B&Q's regular price though, so didn't post it. I also found a £10 off code online so effectively got it for £35 with click & collect. Not used it yet though, so can't comment on how it performs.

Fitted my Makita LS1016L to this no problem, I would say this is pretty much universal, nice and sturdy for the money

Wouldn't think so TBH as the cutting surface is way higher than normal saws, so the rollers hardly would go that high. Have been to my local Aldi (Fri 18:15), chuck-a-block, turned around and will pop round tomorrow again

I think they are all pretty similar with what they fit. Mine fits up to 14 inches (distance between front to back holes) and up to 30 inches (left to right holes). So as long as your feet fall with those dimensions, you should be OK.

Is this piece of kit universal? I have an Elu (now Dewalt) flip saw - does anyone know if it will fit?

Same price for the Evolution one at B&Q at the moment. On off for £50 then using the £10 off code bring it down to £40 for click and collect. I bought it Saturday and I'm very happy with it.

nobody will pay 80quid for that. You can get it for that price at Amazon for better brand like Black & Decker 2 weeks ago

I bought one of this about 2 months ago. It has been about that price on clearance for quite a while. I wouldn't say I was super pleased with it but I'm not going to vote this cold, in fact I will tick it as hot because what I'm about to say regards the product itself rather than the deal being obtained for those who want to buy it regardless. Firstly, I'm going to say that it definitely isn't worth £80. It should never have been at that price as you would expect to get a better workbench for that price. But at £35 is it worth it? I dunno for sure but it depends what you need it for. I got it to do general diy stuff and I've already used it to cut laminate flooring with my jigsaw. It did the job. It wasn't rock solid and sturdy but I don't think that I would have received a much better service or a lot more ease with one that was. What I don't like is that it feels quite wonky. Some things are not properly aligned. Again for £35, that's perhaps excusable but for £80 I would have felt robbed. I think the problem was that I expected a solid piece like the one you see in the picture worth £80 .. it's metal after all but when I put it together, it didn't feel great.. it felt more £20'ish (pre-brexit) or £30'ish (now). Would I have bought it if I had experience using it? It depends if there's an alternative one which feels MUCH more solid while it also has some of its key features, such as foldable, adjustable height and clamps etc (I would even be prepared to pay a little higher say up to £60). I there's no such alternative on the market, then I would say its a decent buy .. because the solidness only carries you that far for a non-serious (or occasional diy) user Good luck with whatever you decide. Perhaps if I've managed to lower your expectation a little, then when YOU use it .. it might feel a lot better.

It won't be MacAllister, as that's B&Q's own brand, it'll be Aldi brands like Workzone or similar.

Mine is quite sturdy and the ones for £10 in Aldi are the crap wood ones but ok for £10

Shame its only got one single support be perfect otherwise. Its not made of wood like the cheap ones if its not sturdy its no good.
