Thanks Op one of my fave malts (y)
All Bowmore Discounts, Offers and Sale - October 2018
Not one of my favourite islay malts, but an awesome deal if you can find it
Wow. I got the 70cl single mate RTC on Thurs in Dundee but it was £19 odds! Yes for a Scottish Islay one it's quite sweet and not too peaty which suits me
Absolutely beautiful whisky, enjoying some right now! Beautiful dark chocolate taste with a smooth, smoky finish. Enjoy :-).
it's smooth enough for almost anyone to like, I would think, unlike Laphraoig or even Ardmore (Legacy). Probably a bit sweeter than other Islay whiskies, has a lingering tang of lemon or honey or something. Smells very smoky, tastes a bit less so. A unique flavour, really, subtle but good. Having bought Bowmore no. 1, which isn't so pleasant, I was unsure, but I'm glad I got this.
I do like a nice peated whisky, and have tried, and like, Ardmore and Laphroaig. Anyone on here actually tried this, and know how it compares?
thanks bear (highfive)
thanks adult (y)
Yes, but the other side of the coin is that posting could have done someone in Scunthorpe a massive favour: so its a shame not to post because more people would have been frustrated that they couldn't take advantage.
Got this for 18.50 in my local Tesco
I've mentioned this elsewhere, but this was reduced to clear in Scunthorpe at £18, while ten miles away it's rtc at £28 in Brigg. I didn't bother posting as the prices are obviously store specific.
Decent price for the 12yo too.
Your's is a good find, it's £28 r.t.c. at the Bidston store. Heat, OP
Wellingborough has it also along with a few others
Confirm price at Tesco Extra Bournemouth!
Thanks Op a lovely drop of whisky at a decent price (y)
I'd like to try it but I've bought way too much whisky from this site. Good price according to the camels:
It's a decent one to try if you're tempted by Islay malts however I agree with The_Bounty_Bear, for it to be exceptional it needs to be non chill filtered, without added colouring etc... On this basis my favourite malt currently is anything by the Isle of Arran distillery, however it's difficult to find any of their whisky on offer...
It was my favourite back in the day. Many family in the islands, most drink the Lagavulin, some prefer Laphroaig, but nobody refuses a Bowmore. My older brother breaks the mould - he's a Speysider of a certain Macallan version.
The answer to that question is the same as the reply to "Do I need another handbag/ pair of shoes?"
Good price, do I need more malt ?
I prefer "island" whiskies, tried Bowmore no. 1 but found it kind of odd. Can anyone tell me whether the 12 is very different, ie better, please? Make my mind up for me (y)
A very enjoyable malt at a good price.
Thanks Op this is a very drinkable malt one of my faves! (y) From the Master of Malt site; Classic stuff and the heart of the Bowmore range. Smoky, fruity, coastal, delicious
I got it last month for £26 and though that was a bargain. Nice wee dram, the 15 is miles better, but for this price you can not argue
Picked up last two from my local. Grudgingly gave a bottle to my brother
Excellent price for this. Picked a bottle up from Tesco this morning .
Heat. Decent dram for this money.
Can't understand why this isn't flaming hot! Surely the lowest price it's ever been! Picked up three bottles (1 me and 2 for gifts...ok maybe 2 for me and 1 as a gift) this evening, bargain!
It's back at £25.90 again if anyone is interested
So why is it when I post this for £26 at Tesco a few weeks ago it leads to severe responses and voting cold; OK, it finally went to +3.... Don't understand this site.....
Very nice drop. Better than the Bowmore 1.
laphroaig will be a far stronger taste than this. up to you what you prefer though.
This or the Laphroaig Quarter Cask? Tricky. Probably the QC, but would be interesting to try this one.
Pass on these NAS bowmore and hopefully they will stop making them.
You’re right it’s 90p more expensive than the lowest EVER price on Amazon. So rubbish deal then.
Bowmore No 1 is much nicer and it's actually cheaper than this on Amazon.
Had been selling before on Amazon for £20 so the price has actually gone up.
Most reviews I have read are not good. I'm a Bowmore fan and have tried all their other sub 50 quid varieties. Is been put off this by the bad reviews but at this price I'll give it a go. Thanks op
Interestingly, this was the only one that only one that was sold out on the stand with the reduced price single malys.
I'd choose Tesco over amazon. At least they actually pay their taxes and having alcohol to your home delivered when you're at work isn't actually very easy.
Fair point. And I assume that includes free delivery right?
Good point. Something like this perhaps?
Great price for this, well worth it! I just wish they would stop with the excessive E150a (annoyed)
Think you missed a "please" also. ;)
No, you think it. Say "please" next time you want people to do things.
Good find, thanks OP :)
Excellent, excellent whisky this. Good find.
i did that whisky has been deleted i had 3 in the same thread the already posted whisky has been removed.this and the other whisky in the link have not already been posted.
Deal still on which is unusual for Amazon. Probably going to order another as it's a lovely smokey whiskey
Couldn’t help myself from ordering this today . Looking forward to trying it
Lots of people think that it's the water, which runs though peat bogs, which gives Whisky its peated taste. These people are talking codswallop. The substance is in the smoke. See here
This is my current favorite. Thanks OP
Heat for price. But I'm more of a bourbon kind of guy
Different animal altogether imo. No 1 is more bourbon influenced and is quite young tasting, spicy ish with vanilla notes. Still nice for sub 25.
What's this like compared to the 15? Obviously not expecting it to better it; given the price.
Never has it in stores near me
Not at either carlisle stores unfortunately ;(
Please don't, that would be a perfectly good waste of lemon Fanta :3
Not at my local one it isn't. (annoyed) I think its a very large busy store though, so perhaps their stock turn over is high. Or something.
I wouldnt recomend it as a mixer. Bit too peaty for fanta lemon lol
20.70p now :D
£23 at Tesco now
No age though unfortunately
Great price. Heat
So I take it you limit yourself to wholly owned British companies when it comes to beer and other spirits as well? What about grocery shopping- do you apply the same logic to that as well?
Expired - £34.84 now
It was £25 in October but only on a lightning deal which don't usually show on camel.
I checked on camelcamelcamel before I made my post and that site confirmed that the regular listed price was £29 from Oct 30th until around 20th Dec, where it rose to £34.84 until this new drop to £25, so while you're not mistaken on the Whisky, you are mistaken on it being £25 at amazon for a good while now. Perhaps you're a Prime member and it's been £25 since November on Prime? I can't say. I know I ordered a bottle for £25 in their Black Friday sale when it was part of their Deal of the Day though.
Yeah this is what I might have typed if I could have been bothered. Well done :) Aged statement is usually an indicator it’s a better offering. Like the tallisker :)
Great Malt.......Similar to Laphroaig but not as peaty. Well worth a try at this price, sure I've seen it at £20 somewhere recently though :/
"Really strong and different" That'll be because it aged in the bowl. :/ Merry Christmas
Must admit the description doesn't exactly entice me with this one. "not massively complex" and "one dimensional" aren't descriptors that grab me personally. Price is fair though so giving it heat
When I first had Bowmore, it was disgusting, my toilet smelt like a peat bog the next day (pun intended) , it is really strong and different. This and Macallan are now my favourites. :D
£25 now but legand is still £22
One of hubbys favs so might be tempted
Great price for a decent enough whisky. Just wish Bowmore would have • less of a core range • Non Chill filtering • Natural colour • Higher ABV% It would really turn the whisky from above average to very good
Excellent price; paid £25 each for 2 bottles recently. Don't expect it to last long now that my son is back from university (whatever happened to Watneys?)
Ordered a bottle. Thanks
