Turret-Buddy

Hey Sasha, no gloves

Jo44

I don’t think all subscribers did - I received an email saying I’d ‘won’ a subscribers prize of the seeds, and to enter the draw for this months - a pair of gloves!! probably getting rid of leftover stock - but as I’m on the cheap 5 for £5 membership it is a bonus!!

Knighthammer

I did get the seeds advertised with the magazine

daz1969

Like Turret-Buddy I just got the seeds too

I agree, but you never know where you get it from. I've got a friend who over the past month went out once, to supermarket, and once with the kids in the park. She's been tested positive, she does not have a clue where she's got it from, she thinks it is either from the supermarket or from sitting on a bench in the park. I completely agree these going for a walk or riding a bike don't need these, but I strongly believe those going to supermarket or using the public transport should wear them. It will probably not help much unless you're very cautious, but may help.

rsg444

Of course there are limitations and one should exercise caution if needed, for example you’re a carer. My comment is aimed at those who I see regularly that wear surgical gloves while going for a walk, or riding their bike in the park and depriving the people who actually need them, such as health care professionals.

sheffield788

So, no need to carry hand gel with you according to some, that particular gel smells bad or is only antibacterial, now just wash your hands. Never mind there are carers visiting about 50 people every day, should they ask at every visit to use their sink? You go at the supermarket, you touch the trolley, no hand gel, no facilities to wash your hands. Like you find taps at every corner of the street. Alongside other poor restrictions imposed, one of the reason we have the highest no of cases in Europe may be because people don't wear masks and gloves. In other countries these are compulsory for now. Should we assume we have the highest number of cases in Europe because in England people don't wash themselves?

rsg444

Or just wash your hands

sdylan

I think the other boxes should be released to the public now as nhs has enough supplies now

The subscribers version does not have the seeds other than Aquilegia or gloves which is a little irritating. It turns out that at least the Aquilegia won't flower until next year since it takes quite a while to germinate. I am not sure I am that patient!

Or a stray patch of diesel, now thats a surefire killer of many a rider! Try Slovakia i live there 6 months of the year very motorcycle friendly!

MildmanneredCalvin

I'm not a fan of long journeys on the bike, for that specific reason. You can be the best rider but come across the dumbest driver and you will lose to them each and every time. What I would like to try is some mountain road motocross, not sure if they do it in this country or not.

Bassinvader

Haha yeah i ken what you mean my old pal Davie was a Hells Angel one of his best pals died at 120mph+ hit a tree head on - police had a bit of bother finding his head totally decapitated - true story - and my cousin Keith died under a bus in London - put me off driving like a nutter for life! Yeah looks like Darryl the crossbow mans bike on TWD lol I am fully ready now for the Zombie apocalypse now! ;)

MildmanneredCalvin

I hardly ride a widow maker (lol) Just a Suzuki RV 125, use it for commuting to work. Yeah I got robbed I guess although I need it in XXL. Not the easiest size to find. Was looking at Ruroc for their awesome designs, but they're over 400 notes :p Knox makes a whole great range of stuff. Really high quality if you ask me! Congratulations on winning your bike, she's a beaut.

Bassinvader

Ha yeah ive got the Scorpion Exo1400 £199.99 ye were robbed dude. Whats yer ride? Just won myself a CMX500 Rebel in an online competition so the old Kawa GPZ750 is now archived! Have to have a look at Knox! (highfive)

cactusbrandy

Mine arrived. They fit fine for XL, but they are very snug fit. No issues at all for anyone doing XC mountain biking etc. They're not restrictive at all. But they are definitely snug as heck. If I knew no better, I would assume they were always designed as MTB/XC gloves over Motorcross.

cactusbrandy

Anyone comment on sizing, despite the guidance above? Same for me on MTB - I'm a size 11 in goalkeeper gloves, but where I would opt for XL elsewhere, this suggests large here. Anyone got these? Edit: measured again, and it says XL...lol...must try harder!

ncd

Thanks, yes for that price can't go wrong really (y)

Akira_Cat

They might be a bit bulkier than MTB gloves, but MotoX still needs movement so you might be okay. £8.37 is worth a shot. Cheers

ncd

Thanks OP, just wonder if these are too bulky for mountain biking? I'm after a new set of gloves.

Go screwfix wider choice decent prices and most sizes

asac

Not an astonishing price for cheap gloves that you'll have to replace regularly. The coating comes off in a few months, they tear easily, they get wet easily (from the back). For much better gloves on a budget, get some rigger gloves, the yellow and black ones in leather and canvas, for under £5. For example, these gloves are £2.50 and much better quality: screwfix.com/p/site-kf110-premium-rigger-gloves-yellow-black-large/155fr Bought them at B&Q last year, they've been perfect for gardening and survived a lot of abuse. I have used both types and honestly, they're more breathable, more water resistant, more comfortable, more shock absorbent, actually thorn proof... Having leather on the tips is so much better than a rubber coating. Not going back!

exactly what i did , lol Gardening as in getting your gloves muddy or at risk of been spiked by a thorn / rose bush then all pvc gloves would be better protection and more durable (think they're the red ones the white wrist), if it is just to handle power tools like a hedge trimmer , lawn mower etc then these would be fine.
