You can buy bnib 7110 for 500 quid if you are interested. I had it ages ago and it was very good in its era.
Has EE firmware Wi-fi Calling activated ?
it was not 7110 either, it was custom made for the movie, looked like the old 8110 though...
shame, this could have been quite lucrative.... ;)
Hot because of price vs original price but definitely not a great phone
super fast dispatch :1-2months :D
Hiya, I didn't add it in as I actually posted that as a separate deal a couple days ago, thank you though :)
@Mrswitch I think there is a £10 of G7 play too making it £119 I have just checked in app for me
No problem, we likes what we like, I wouldn't ever try and sway you away from a manufacturer you prefer.
You are the phone mister Mrswitch ;) Gonna stick with Motorola. had them for years and never been any bother (highfive) Though for the record had a nightmare with their web page/online shop when trying to order a phone from them. never again!
No, raised the price from m a couple days ago when I posted it :)
£171.20 including VAT and delivery, unless I'm missing something obvious?
Recently bought this, it's a great phone for the money
Very good-looking phone, reasonably compact
No, just no eglobal deals today because I know what they entail. Endless exchanges that I haven't got time with today (lol)
I thought that HMD Global were some of the old original Nokia lot? I backed the Jolla phone when they split from Nokia after the (lovely) N9. Meego, what an OS. Jolla phone is was too much of a departure, which was a great shame. I would buy Nokia again, but the 8 Sirocco was just ok. I'll wait for the next one. When they've sorted their PureView cameras out.
All u talk about is processors, they mean very little to most people between 845 n 855
Indeedy; as a tech writer of the past 20-odd years, I was closely affiliated with Nokia through the golden ages, present at the "Burning Platform" speech and was lucky enough to be seeded 95% of handsets released through the Windows Phone/Windows Mobile/WIndows Phone era, (including the really disappointing MS Lumia 950XL which felt like a Beta upon release). I've had no involvement since the licences were procured by HMD, and the two Nokia handsets I've bought (the 8 and 9 Pureview) have both left me cold, and a little bit saddened. Since then I've done a few gigs for Huawei & Honor, but I'm enjoying watching the development of mobile as a whole (and not switching handsets every three weeks); it's easy to see why Samsung are consistently doing so well, and I've got a feeling that your love for Xiaomi is well placed - which hardly makes me Nostradamus. (The above is moot if Huawei release a "P30 X" with the P30 Pro cameras in a Mate 20 X body or equivalent; I would be on that like the proverbial seagull on chips).
Brand ambassadors need to learn Nokia history as well how it changed hands from Nokia to Microsoft to HMD Global. Lots of things these days have brand names from the past but nothing to do with the original company. Like Kodak battery etc. Some Golden oldies still think BT, British Gas, Royal Mail still owned by the government or public ownership which is not true.
I was "lucky" enough to pick one up from Amazon Warehouse for £330; it arrived yesterday and went back today. I really wanted to love the phone, as before jumping ship I was a Nokia brand ambassador for years (the E7, N8 & Lumia 1020 & 1520 remain some of my favourite handsets), but this was a real dog of a handset, with the camera being slow & inconsistent and the fingerprint reader being even worse than I'd imagined. A shame, and a real missed opportunity.
Nokia, are they one of these new no-name brands from China?? (unicorn)
Good deal.... Heat I saw that Amazon dropped price to £129.99 yesterday but this is better deal!
Good summary. Add in it's waterproof and a battery life that's hard to beat makes it a very decent choice.
I’ve had Pebble. Moto 360. Sony smart watch. Apple Watch (two models). Now this (in black). I agree with your comments. It’s the best at being a watch that’s smart, (in that order). Not a smart watch.
This watch isn't for everyone - it isn't the best health monitor on the market, and it isn't the best interface for accessing apps. But there is a (minority) of people who want a watch the looks like a traditional watch, but can also tell them who's calling or who's messaging. For them, this is a good price, for a watch that does those things well...
Good price for a great watch.
Nokia 8.1 Plus aka Nokia X71 https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_x71-9652.php 48mp camera :-D
A downgrade if anything, you're losing the optical zoom for a high resolution depth sensor, though you do get OIS in return. And a bigger screen, as if 6" isn't enough. The battery is smaller though the 710 is slightly more power efficient but hardly.
So not enough of an upgrade for you?
Reviews actually suggest it's not that much better, in fact.
Na, hasn't been released yet, shall update title.
I have become quite notchalant about it. (embarrassed) Sorry.
I have notch phones. But they do not cut the picture 😁. See this gizchina.com/2019/03/02/new-update-to-hide-notch-arrives-xiaomi-mi-9-series/
MI 9 or Black Shark 2 with snapdragon 855. Otherwise Mi8 with Snapdragon 845. This has Snapdragon 710 which is nothing in comparison to Snapdragon 855. Just milking the Nokia brand name for substandard hardware.
(lol) (lol) (lol) But to be fair, it has an iPhone notch :D
The operating system is definitely not simple like a feature phone should be
I was thinking to have it mainly because I always wanted to have one of those when I was a kid. And remembering quality and battery life from 20 years ago, I've got my hopes high. But I needed proper internet access same time. That's why I've picked Nokia 5.1 when it came out hoping for quality budget smartphone which lasts for 2 days on single charge. What a piece of garbage the phone turned to be. Instant Android updates seems to be all in beta with random error popping out of different apps. Expecting advantage with instant updates, I just get regular headache. I also have WiFi or mobile data randomly turning off for minute or two because of no reason. Already check it's not WiFi signal nor network issues. But at least it doesn't happen too often. Battery bearly lasts for a day since new. My Samsung J5 2016 got same battery life after 2 years of usage. If not a broken screen, I wouldn't even swap it to Nokia. I guess the only good thing about Nokia 5.1 (and probably other Nokias) is they're quite well made. When I smacked my on the edge of the wooden coffee table it bended (like one of iPhones couple years ago) but other that this everything works and screen is all fine. No any other phone got on my nerves that much, so I never tried to break one purposely, but I guess it shown the only good fearute about my budget piece of garbage. So yeah, I'm not surprise people call new Nokias terrible phones. Because they are (y)
How did I miss this, thanks tyr ;)
Not sure how they pulled it off but terrible phone apparently
Yeah that's what I put in the original post (using Google to check the rate) but it got edited by the mods. Anyway given the negative heat clearly folks don't like this deal, not quite sure why. I can't find the dual sim model this cheap anywhere else...
202.19EUR is actually now ~£175
Had this phone up until a few weeks ago, charging port gets loose and you have to wiggle it to the right point to charge it, eventually it will break, just check the HMD forums, happens to a lot of people. Had to send it back, poor show HMD. Such a shame because I did enjoy using it when it would work, pretty good camera too, especially with gcam but there were a few software issues... Double tap to wake not working, locking up more times than would be acceptable and having to turn the screen off and on again to get it to work (this issue has been around since last year), the bottom part of the screen becomes unresponsive, forcing you to either reboot, or go into the settings and tap on "about phone" then it works again for some reason, bizzare. Just too many issues to keep the thing so I ended up getting the Mi9 and never looked back.
Chinese leak machine. Expected better from Nokia. Very disappointing
No problems from mine either in 15 months of owning. Works and syncs well with Apple Health Kit, MyFitnessPal and Runkeeper, along with the Apple Watch and Nokia/Withing’s blood pressure monitor. If I could make the decision again I’d still buy it.
I'd recommend these for sure, never had an issue and we have 4 users, plus the app does help a lot, that and the my fitness pal work OK together and works with apple fitness stuff as well I've been told.
I agree. These are great WIFI connected scales. The poster above is probably trying to measure themselves without first removing their verucca sock. I'd recommend them, as would the reviews.
Never had a problem with mine. I’d recommend it.
That's odd, they still sell the Nokia stuff on their site, maybe try again? I'm shocked by that behaviour from them.
Arg, damn I'll expire. Thanks
Don't think there is 20% off on this model.
New trap phone heat
What's the best cheap phone that WhatsApp works on?
really messed up by not having a spring loaded button to release the slide
No not yet. Better and cheaper phones elsewhere.
It’s just a shame. I had high hopes. I want Nokia to succeed. (skeptical)
Well the returns process is there for a reason I guess.
Yep. Came with CeX own plug and cable, no box. Not impressed with the camera, fingerprint reader or general responsiveness. It’s going back as I’m concerned it will be black listed within a month.
It probably won't come with box/accessories. May have some cosmetic damage but nothing major.
I'm sure it still is great phone, even before bug fixes - bar has been set so high by rest of flagships. Reviewers naturally very demanding & knowledgeable too, bloody difficult to make cut to 'best buy' or 5-star rating, and competition so fierce.
I'd ask the same and around the £100 mark with UK seller + warranty + dual sim (Looking at the Moto G6 or Wileyfox Swift 2 Plus at the moment unless anyone knows better ?)
Sold out mate.
Wheres the Pixel 3 ?
What would be the best budget phone to get for around £150? I was thinking of going with the S7 refurbished with 12 months warranty, is there anything better I could get (NFC is not compulsory)? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks :)
Surprised no-one mentioned the Vodafone X9, been using it for about three months now after selling my s8+ to get the S10+ and it's quite nippy. Mind I came from an s8+, so was pleasantly surprised with the price and performance so much so that I've decided to keep it till the note 10 arrives. Also it's the cheapest decent phone with NFC, and can be unlocked with a £3 code now or after 30 days by Vodafone. It's £109 rrp but can be had cheaper.
Yeah I reckon so as I'm not a power user really - just like a nice smooth running phone and like to go for an extra GB of RAM and the A2 lite seems the best bang for buck for me. I do like the Sony phones though as they usually have good cameras but been tempted to jump on the Xiaomi bandwagon for a while now so another £130ish A2 Lite UK and I'll bite. Still very happy with this though for the time being and really impressed for £39. Thread deserves a lot more heat!
What's your next phone going to be then? The A2 lite.
I think it's £69 for that one - was tempted but there didn't seem to be too much in it and certainly not enough for me for another £30 imo. Really impressed with this so far although the 3 navigation buttons not being backlit is absolutely criminal. Charging isn't the fastest either but very impressed for £39 overall. Just wish I ordered the eBuyer A2 Lite from the other day but this should tie me over quite nicely until a good deal pops up.
i just bought a huawei y6 2018 £49 quid and it was unlocked brand new perfect
The bottom of the screen tends to lose functionality on these handsets
I text STOPPACK to 150 as soon as you insert the SIM card and it worked great. :)
Thanks, will try it :D
Text STOPPACK to 150 as soon as you insert the SIM card. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
thanks a'lot @Mrswitch (y) ordered one. hmm i wonder can downgrade EE payg to standard plan and remove this bundle...
Just took delivery of two of these today, one packed up to post to CeX and will take the other in branch. Thanks for the post @Mrswitch (y)
It can't be worse, give them a bit of time to iron out niggles with software, and reviewers too to get to know it better. I much doubt that fingerprint sensor is unusable, as it has been suggested. This phone can have serious strenghts that could be underestimated atm, let's see how time treats it
Gutted about this phone, thought the camera tech might be an upgrade of the pure view us windows phone diehards were so fond of :(
Think you seem to have confused the U in hotUkdeald with hotIkdeals. The best deals are what suit the general people. Obviously not in your case but it's horses for courses. It might not be a good deal for you but it seems to have been well received.
incentives that i won't use, i'd prefer the extra data and not get any extra monthly charges
So it doesn't have all the added benefits but you still think it's a better deal. Hmmm
I got one on this deal, and it had the half screen static issue out of the box, widely reported with this phone. Not so hot......
Latest Android 9/pie update 2 days ago (to the initial buggy pie release) has improved things immensely. Phone feels so much faster and it wasn't exactly slow before. Superb phone. I've had mine for 1½ years and can't see any reason I'd need to upgrade.
Excellent find, heat (Fyi, I'm not jealous 😡)
Out of stock. I ordered one because it says dual SIM but now I see it also says single SIM so I will wait and see. If they got the part number right then I think it is single SIM but it does have SD card support which is a bonus.
