No not sure but it said about duel SIM in the instructions. Not a feature I am going to use so can't really test it . Not sure how I added the price up so wrong lol . Still only £5 odd a month for the contract after the phone cost

Voltix

but u still get Chinese version with no warranty in europe

usernamenotavailable

Also, £16/month for 24 months is £384, not £320, so maybe this deal isn't so bad after all?

usernamenotavailable

As far as I've read, UK version has the dual-sim feature disabled and can only use the second slot for microSD storage expansion. Amazon UK seems to sell the single-sim verion as well. Are you sure yours is dual-sim?

usernamenotavailable

What about the charger? Regardless of USB standard, I'll need to plug it to a socket and I am wondering if buying from tobydeals means I'd need a plug adaptor or to buy a 3rd party fast charger (I don't have one yet)

Not sure now since it dropped abit more. Got a friend one on your deal. Really happy about that price. Cheers for the deal.

ImperialWookie

Yeah the volume change is excellent, along with the new rotate nav bar button are my two favourite things so far. Lawnchair is basically a more customisable Pixel launcher. Simpler than Nova but still highly customisable. Also works extremely smoothly. I have mine setup to mimic the OnePlus launcher and it's beautiful.

fishmaster

I haven't heard of Lawnchair. I'll check it out. I use Nova Launcher. I enabled the new navigation swipe up on home button but I found I would swipe up sometimes kind of miss swipe in frustration and close the app I was working in. So yeah it needs work still. The Pixel 2 is the first phone where I've thought this is how a phone should work. No lag, superb software. Best Android device I have with the Nvidia Shield TV a reasonable close second. Oh yeah I like the volume slider OSD in Pie, the volume thing is something that's needed fixing for ages, no changing the ringer volume anymore when you wanted to change the media volume. Works very well.

harrerdarren

That's one good point about my Huawei p10 lite I can change default storage from internal to SD card but I personally find with 32 GB internal I only keep Google play music and photos on the SD card

harrerdarren

This is the issue a lot of people are complaining that this isn't happening on Nokia and Motorola android one handsets hence my hesitation in actually buying either one

legobob

Yeah I agree it is a hidden option, I think mainly due to most customers not knowing speeds of memory cards can affect performance ;) . The Nokia 3 right from launch and up to now deffo has it (if bought from UK)... The Oreo beta may be different just with it being a beta as they are always tinkering with bits before release though (y)

misterleoni

I had a Nokia 3 running both 7.1 and the Oreo beta and that didn't have adoptable storage either - despite only having 16GB. Surely those with phones running such lowly storage are likely to be less tech savvy too, so more likely to run into issues.

legobob

Some manufacturers took the adoptable storage option out of their versions. Adoptable storage is now supported in devices under 32GB to help those with lower internal...so you may not get the option in 6.1 and above as it has 32gb

Literally EVERY UK Network out there (for the last 20+ Year's or so anyway?), has BOTH Locked it's Phone's, UnLocked it's Phone's, Locked it's Phone's, UnLocked it's Phone's, and ... There's no definitive formality or anything (when it comes to such things basically), as those Network's are forever changing their minds on such thing's (1 a minute like). So it's hard to sometimes speculate on such thing's - irrespective of which Network it is (the way I see it). But though, I've formally bought 2 of the Nokia 3310 3G (2017) version Phone's on O2, which were UnLocked though, IF you buy it from O2 online, but IF you buy the same Phone in person with O2, then it will be Locked though ... (So bare that in mind too - online purchases, and in person purchases of Phone X, Y and Z, are NOT necessarily the same, even if said purchase is literally for the exact same Network!). :-D Food for thought moments basically. :-)

quincemeister

Just got one and it was unlocked too :D

I'd recommend this to light smartphone users. I used one as a temporary phone last year and it runs all of the general apps with no lag. It's received many Android updates and is currently on 8.1 Oreo, soon to be upgraded to Android 9. You won't find a better phone in this price range. EDIT: If you don't use your phone much, except for a couple of calls and messages per day, average standby for this phone will be around 8-11 days from my experience.

wimbojimbo

I used this phone for 1 month! Terrible! Slow laggy experience to the point of nearly being useless! Avoid even at that price.

peaceoff

2gb of ram is rubbish (unless it's running Android 3 or less). If the Android version is higher than that then you will find the phone lags A LOT every time you open up an app (including dialer)

Funnily enough Poor battery life is one of the most common complaints people make about phones.... Each to their own though, personally I'd rather carry a phone around that is 1mm thicker and weighs 30g or so more and have a 2-3 day battery without having to think about if my battery will last until i can next get to a mains socket.

kiora

Yes, it would last longer if they fitted a bigger battery. Who'd have thunk it? It charges to 80% in around 30mins so realistically no one is going to care?

Uridium

So imagine how much longer it would last if they'd fitted a decent sized battery.......

AndrewFranci-b2794.07392

It isn't an issue. The battery lasts really well, much better than I expected. Easily lasts a day off heavy use.

IMS provision files are Network provided, usually preinstalled - had one on my Nokia 6301 with Orange Unique ‘Wi-fi Calling’ over 3G, and with several Blackberries with actual Wi-fi Calling chips until they choose a worse Wi-fi Calling ‘app’. HMD licence the patent/tech from actual Nokia Networks https://networks.nokia.com/portfolio/ims-volte https://networks.nokia.com/products/open-telecom-application-server-tas-old

breadfish

I bought one from O2 for £39 which is unlocked/unbranded but unfortunately VoLTE isn't working on any network. (fierce) There's an IMS settings menu which is completely blank (no add/options) on O2/Vodafone/Three though interestingly, the menu vanishes when I use my EE SIM. Despite this, calls still fall back to 3G. Hopefully support will be added in a future update.
