Where are you guys getting the information on the differences between versions? Was going to get 100 packs from ebay for ~£50 but this is better value! The £773 article is madness, who on earth would try and complete a sticker album without anyone to do swaps with? Isn't that the fun of doing it?

Would this be a better alternative at the same price? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01GFPWNJE/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1523482814&sr=8-5π=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=george+foreman+grills&dpPl=1&dpID=31YQe0XzZGL&ref=plSrch

Steaks, burgers, chicken breasts (butterfly first), bacon - only limitation is your imagination ! We even use ours to reheat oven chips. Only thing I haven't mastered is cooking an egg on it. Ours is used a few times a week, now on our 2nd after wearing out the first one after 3 years hard labour

Thanks, ordered :-)

Got one of these for this price from Argos recently and have to say I love it. Now hopelessly addicted to cheese & ham toasted bagels. The massive pro is nothing seems to stick so its super easy to clean. Its big enough to fit 2 standard size slices of bread side-by-side so you could heat 2 toasties at the same time.

Costco £10 ish for 20 packs

hypersonic

The only way this will be beaten is if somewhere like Morrisons does a 3 for 2 on them again.

Romin.Nassiri

Why is this cold? if you get the starter pack (album and 5 packs) also bundled in with the box of 100 packs it works out £67.99. That’s just under 65p per pack. TCB 12% returned £8.16. So final cost per pack is 57p... I can’t see that beaten

MajorCheese

I really have no idea how they get a "professor" to come up with these headline numbers. Surely swapping is a big part of the fun. I know I'm lucky to live in Manchester where there are regular 'swap' meetups normally. We went along to a couple at the football museum/Urbis during the euros album and filled most of it there, had to send off for the last 20 or so, mostly shineys. I think this year will cost us max £110. That's allowing for lost/damaged/unswappables. As the "professor" says - 137 packs. Well that's £89 to fill the album at Groupon/Argos/Ebay prices (65p/pack). Not counting gifts from Granny/Grandad etc.

To be fair, using these for anything other than deliciously crunchy toasted sandwiches is asking for a whole load of trouble trying to clean burned on meat juices from the plates. We've got a great Tefal one and it gets used most weeks, but it's rubbish for chicken and meat.

Rolling? Can't say I've had that problem myself to be honest. When I slice them in half the only issue I have is with the top half sliding off the bottom half when I press it down, but you can fix that by just cutting them straight. You could always try flattening the baguette a bit by hand before you put it in?

kmirza

Doing fine with panini maker but how do I stop baguettes rolling. I have to literally hold it with my hand and end up burning hands. Any tips?

djbenny1

Nice one, just make sure if using the baguettes you squash them down to flatten a little (using the handle - not too hard though as your filling may squeeze out!) and cook them in the press until the bread is nice and brown on the parts in contact with the plates. They'll be nice and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, then! The filling will be like lava though, so take care

Infiltrator

We use our breville to cook sandwiches, toasted wraps, bacon, steaks, chicken breasts, burgers, sausages, reheat oven chips, etc etc. Tried all the usual sandwich makers, George foreman grills and junked them all for this one, now on our second, the first one was just worn out after 2 years hard use.

kmirza

Now school is closed so 14 year old can get on with panini maker ;) 🤔 :|

I have one of these and they're absolutely fantastic. Toasts a sandwich in about 2-3 minutes from cold, or about 30 seconds if you allow it to heat up before putting your sandwich in. I've made burgers on it before, and while it's possible, there's no drip tray for the grease, so I don't really advise doing this.
