Just got 2 at £4.00 each the wok and Pan . Bargain . Thanks OP
It just won't sizzle like the back room of a Chinese takeaway
Balls. Got 1 yesterday at my local in NI but I've an induction hob. Is it that bad?
Thanks got one this morning :)
Don't waste your money! Go to your local Chinese supermarket, buy a proper steel wok, then either look up how to prove it or take it to your local Chinese takeaway and ask them if they'll use it for a week if you buy a few take-outs. Nothing will beat that for non-stick-ness! This cheap one will have the paint coming off on your hob, assuming you have it hot enough as is the idea with wok cooking. And the non-stick coating will probably come off into your food. Nice huh!
Not for induction I don't think
Hmm, doesn't seem to say what the non stick surface is. You should be very careful. Most common coatings are very bad for your health.
Can't complain for the price, but it is non-stick...
How big is this?
Black in stock, heat added, great deal even if u only get 2 years
Out of stock!!
Blame Trump if your house is smaller than a cooker.
i agree with golly not for me but great price.hot from me also (y)
Bargain price. Don't like single ovens but it's a good price. 2 yr warranty. Good find. Have some heat, on the largest burner!
your pan may not be hot enough and/or your cooking it too long
If you've ever seen Chinese/SE Asia chefs cooking with woks they only cook one portion of food at a time, that way it's fast and the veg keeps that crunchy/al dente texture. Wok's are not meant to have 4 big family portions of ingredients cooking in the wok at the same time. A small portion of ingredients keeps in contact with the heat continuously, too much and most of it stops cooking and ends up all over the cooker.......floor......walls.....
Get a carbon steel 14" wok (do not get a non stick one), learn how to season it and take care of it. Use the highest heat source you have available, use a oil with a high smoking point (e.g Groundnut), ensure your ingredients are dry before you start, don't crowd the wok. If you want to delve into true asian cooking, "The breath of a Wok" by Grace Young is a great book, it taught me a lot.
Thanks OP, ordered the 30cm.
oooh its an omelette!! OmG (skeptical)
@wishihadadonkey No I dont mind at all :D thanks for the effort (highfive)
It’s a frying pan I was trying to fry eggs kept getting stuck !!
They're not idiot-proof, that is true. My guess would be you let it get waaaaay too hot. Max cooking temperature for neverstick's nonstick coating is a little over 200C, gas can easily exceed that, especially in a wok. Of all Neverstick's products I think the wok is the one that's a little questionable as 200 is rather low for stir frying. Also cooking an omelette in a wok?!?
I bought a load of these pans when they were on offer at asda, I think they are brilliant and work perfect with my new induction hob! Apparently some older induction hobs they arnt compatible so make sure you keep your receipt x
Got both the frying pan & large wok pan. Great pans & even the wife’s cooking doesn’t stick ;)
These are amazing. Unlike other brands. Been slowly replacing everything with these and had no issues for 2 years with them chipping or anything. Only thing I would say is Scoville have Scoville 2 which is better. If poss go for that and try to get the ones with the metal handles (I think JL sell them).
i got a neverstick a few year ago food still sticks to them there not that good
Chorley FM, coming in your ears
nice I'll check when I'm at my sainsburys today.as far as i know i wont be travelling near the O2 today (cheeky)
I prefer a Steels Non Stick Tin Wok, free from the O2 Arena, if you go on the right day ;)
I'm happy for you ;)
I only paid £2.25 for mine in the Maryhill store in Glasgow last week
I managed to get this on Amazon for £11.20 (now £27.84) but this is still a great price. Heat added!
Here’s the barcode if interested
Bought a similar one from Asda for £12
PTFE negative for Tefal . Much better ceramic hobs with lids now available.
How much are they selling on facebook bruv? ;)
Good find op
They don't put PTFE on any Ceramic pans, you are getting confused with Teflon coated pans, even then there is little harm unless you eat the pan itself.
More opinions please UKhotters! Am tempered but not sure only 1 review says its s bit small. Thanx for post Op
Cold. Gotta go carbon
Voted hot. Hope the base is thick as stainless steel is not good conductor of heat like aluminium or copper.
Cooking oil on a high in it, something with a high flash point like peanut oil, for extra penetration into the metal you can use a blow torch to heat instead of a home hob. It gives the pan a coating and works the same way non stick material does without the material. Just don't get detergent on it. Clean it with cold/hot water, nothing else. You can use bamboo to clean the more stubborn stains. The flavour from each meal adds to the season and keeps it non stick. I'd say most woks in commercial kitchens use this method. Look it up, plenty of 'how to's' on you tube.
Sorry this may sound like a daft question but wot do you mean by ‘seasoning ‘ a pan ?
I've got a revised arrival date of 15th May. Price now up to £18 on website. Thanks OP
That coating doesn't look like steel to me. Whatever coating it is, you'll end up eating it in your food eventually. Do what you like. I had these for years and they're very versatile. But, they always break down eventually. That's why I went with a steel one. Seasoned properly they'll last a long time.
Perhaps it depends which warehouse you live near? Mine arrived this afternoon. Lovely thick base with "Tefal Induction Techology" written on it for those worrying about that. Bargain for £11.20
Found it now for £10 at Tesco (Seacroft, Leeds)....donno if it's nationwide. Wasn't after one but reviews seem good so...why not !?
Found it today for £13 at Tesco (didn’t say reduced or special offer). Best pans I’ve used &very non sticking!
Got mine for £12, absolutely nothing sticks to it but it doesn’t get as hot as I’d like
Wow £12 is a bargain, I thought it was well worth £20
Yes, £20 is the usual price. I bought one for £12 a few weeks ago.
Thanks Boz. :D
I'm a fry I've seen better deals.
And please dont call me a tosser, i am a lady. (lipstick) Wok is the world coming to. Yes, i can go on with the wok puns :S
Do not buy this, go to your local chinese supermarket and get a steel one, then watch this video.

Thanks. Brought one to try reviews on Amazon was promising. Heat for deal
From the Amazon listing for this item. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bodum-Chambord-Cast-Glass-Diameter/dp/B017E3ZIRK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1522333230&sr=8-1&keywords=Bodum+wok Q: Is the internal part unglazed? I do not want a finish on the inside. A: The inside is unglazed. But the manual says not use hard utensils as it is some special mix of iron. I coated the inside of mine with oil and baked it for 1 hour in the oven to season it. It got a proper coating and i cant see the original surface any more. A: No, not glazed, and I find it heats very evenly, very good really
Does this have some sort of coating on the cooking surface of the wok?
Do the Chinese supermarket woks work with induction hobs? Wondering if they would be too thin to register properly with the hob. Maybe this Bodum Wok is better suited to being a good casserole pot?
Thanks Yatty (highfive) I also got a grater £4 https://www.bodum.com/gb/en/11409-01, bread box £7.50 https://www.bodum.com/gb/en/11555-913, 5 large storage jars £4.75 https://www.bodum.com/gb/en/8700-109-2 Spent £54 so got free delivery already have a cheap wok. . . .with handle :D
