WIth all the Euphoria regarding £10 Baileys 1 Litre bottle, I popped into my Local Sainsburys (had a Nectar card but lost it), hoping to pick up a bottle for about £12-13.
And this is what I found.
They copies Tesco style of differential pricing for loyalty card owners, but this is taking the biscuit !
Since when have anyone charged £21.95 for a Baileys bottle? OR £35 for a 70cl Black label ?
A great disincentive for a casual (non Nectar holding) buyers and taking the proverbial ....
They surely lost a sale today.
Seriously, what price loyalty ?

You could say it's a pain if you forget your card but just make sure you have your phone on you and you can access it on the app.
Not sure I would call it "disgusting" though! I'd say that for older customers it may be offputting (those who aren't keen on loyalty cards or even the internet) but they'll be in the minority.
Tip - Even a clear photo or screenshot of the Nectar card bar code is sufficient - I have a picture of hubby's on my phone so I can access any decent offers on his a/c when I'm in-store. Same with his M&S Sparks and Lidl app cards 😄. (edited)
So is he going to take 2 buses to go to Morrisons (or wherever ) just because Sainsbury's are taking the proverbial....
Think it's only Asda who don't do it?
It's nothing new. I used to work for GAME many years ago and they targeting us on pushing Reward cards, and at that time, they actually charged for them too.. (edited)
