Would love this but my ECAM.23.450S just keeps going! It’s been 6 years and it’s only had one service. Can I justify a new machine while the old one still works?!?!?

ScroopEgerton

BINGO! Yes, and Hue lights are around £30 "just for a lightbulb", too.

Snakeyes646

Is it gold plated? (horror)

HutchAW

Looks amazing, I've always wanted a proper top-class coffee machine at home. But, sadly, I've never had the spare funds to go ahead with it! Still out of my price range, unfortunately, but great deal - thanks for sharing :)

I spent about 4 months a couple of years ago trying some "serious" coffee's out. the tastes were different and pleasing; it was the coffee repeating on me 2 hrs after that put an end to my adventure

cossy3

Not a lot from a machine like this, they're cr*ap

mikemod

Thanks, ordered. My EASM4200 has stopped heating the water, after 6 years use, it's time to retire it and I love Latte :D

MrSweeney

Technically if we're being picky, it cost me slightly more as I took out Amazon's 3 year Breakdown & Accidental damage cover for £29.99. The constant price fluctuation was the reason I took it as I thought if it does break anytime soon then potentially I could have to fork out £500 to replace immediately. Problem is once you have this machine, the thought of not having it is a tough pill to swallow for any caffeine junkie. Has anyone else had any experience of using Amazon's cover for any electrical stuff?

Sorry (first time using this site!!) £150 for the machine?

Shaz717

Hi . can I ask how you paid just £120 for air? My old Delonghi that I have had for 7 years has just given up on me so am looking at buying another!! Thanks

Razi

When it comes to coffee, I have experimented with many different types. Started with instant, can't remember when, moved on to an espresso machine back in 1998, next year moved on to cafetere, then different cafeteres for years, then Dolce Gusto capsules but nothing comes close to the bean to cup experience I've had with De'Longhi ESAM4200 I bought last week. It is absolutely heavenly with Lavazza Qualita Rossa beans. I paid only £150 for ESAM4200 but even at £430, this machine is well worth it as this is one of the top of the range models listed at £799 on ao.com. If you availed of this deal, you wouldn't regret it.

Picked this up in Feb when it was £179-10% and £20 cash back on AO, worked out ~£135 with TCB and have used it everyday, a gadget which won't end up in the back of the cupboard for sure!

MARFW

Ao had it at £179 with £20 cashback, also Ao on Ebay with the 20% code off. Amazon also sell them and if you're not fussy about an open box item, you can snag it for £140ish when in stock.

When and where? I'd like to watch in case it comes down again.

WRT the £145 free gifts for these. I have now registered the product via the Membership joining link on the De'Longhi web site, and got the confirmation email. I don't however have anything to say they will be shipping any free gifts to me. Has anyone else got an email on this, or are you just meant to wait for the Postie to deliver something?

meggie_dude

Awesome machines and while expensive, they are now at a great price. Been after one for a while now. Purchased last one in my local store after reserving. I know its only a little saving - but £4.36 tracked via Quidco for click & collect. Noticed a lot of people on local Facebook group selling the same NESCAFE Dolce Gusto pod machine I currently have, so I think a lot of other people have made the same choice to upgrade to a proper coffee machine. :)

True but the real question is, "Is it a hot deal now?" If it's been £150 (25%) cheaper in the recent past its likely that a much better deal will come along in the not too distant future. I guess people are saying that whilst it is the cheapest deal you can get right now it's not actually that good a deal. That's my take.

PIPS

Not if you have a time machine at your disposal :D

ECAM 23.460 has a milk attachment/tank, and also a display, so would be a better machine. However, both would have exactly the same internal components, and therefore would produce exactly the same coffee.

Does anyone know what the numbers mean on these machines? I've been looking at the Ecam 22.110 but not sure what's the difference.

leanback

I can't find any Amazon reviews of it which is a bit odd unless it's listed more than once. 3camels says the lowest price this has been on Amazon is £240- but that was only very briefly and well over a year ago. So cautiously I'll say it sounds a good deal, heat.

I agree! I don't mean a physical pain, I mean a pain as in an annoyance or nuisance.

TheOnlyRick

Some beans have more oil than others. I find drier ones are less likely to stick. (Sainsbury's own brand brand beans, both red and silver bag (traditional blend) & black and silver bag (espresso blend) version work nicely, taste good and are Fair Trade.)

Aleik

Anyone manage to make a decent latte with this? Not sure if it's just me but I'm slightly nearer "microfoam" without the steam wand. Photo is my best effort by far after 50+ attempts and still nothing like. These things matter. I mean I'm making them for myself with nobody else in the house, but...

ddub

If you turn off the steam button, then turn the big dial for about 10 seconds (until it starts making a chugging noise) it flushes cold water through and allows the espresso straight away :)

ddub

Got one of these about 18 months ago and use it every single day. It makes lovely latte's. I use the steam wand to heat the milk first, then the coffee goes in. I really like using Starbucks Guatemala beans (about £5 for a 250g pack). (highfive)

mann242

We used a cafetiere for years until we bought this in November - coffee is much better as whole bean ground. Cafetiere is nice but we wouldnt go back from one of these. More cleaning and maintenance but worth it.

Ordered on 2nd of march and amazon finally delivered yesterday after 4 " were sorry there has been a delay " emails. Anyhow, this thing is brilliant ! it looks much more expensive than £250's worth, is narrow for a bean to cup machine and I love the soft touch button approach, it's also very customizable and looks after it'self in regards to pre-heating the espresso system and rinsing before going into standby. it's also made in Italy which is a nice change from everything these day's being made in china. Just make sure you properly pre-heat your cups especially as the heavy Italian style one's will make your drinks cool if not pre-heated ! p.s even the none coffee drinking GF has submitted and mention it's a nice thing for friends and family to enjoy during visits :)

For anyone in the market for a bean to cup but whose budget doesn't stretch this far, id recommend the ESAM2600 from AO which I've had for about a week now - £159 after £20 cashback https://ao.com/product/esam2600-delonghi-caffe-corso-bean-to-cup-coffee-machine-black-51294-65.aspx Apparently the main differences between the different delonghis are cosmetic - but I'm happy to be corrected on that

wendy07

the eletta can be had for 325 - 350 - ish if one keeps a look-out for sale deals. eg Very were selling at 350-399 with 12months free interest .

donslibi

Thanks. Actually at the parents place now and we used their Eletta. Espresso is definitely better than the esam I have at home but wasn’t sure if it was the beans. I now have my answer :) Would love a compact, no milk espresso machine. Perhaps the Jura A1 but not yet come across anyone who has tried it. Going to keep an eye out for an offer on the Eletta in the meantime.

margamboy

I disagree, having owed both the Eletta and now a new 2800 there is not a great deal between them other than convenience with the 1 touch functionality and I guess looks which is a personal choice. The Eletta does make fine Coffee and up to the job in a busy showroom providing it is serviced annually, ours has produced over 10k cups of coffee over the past 4 years and still does not miss a beat. However having recently bought a cheaper 2800 for the home I must say it has a better frother than the auto crema on the Eletta and the coffee if not quite as good is still lovely and unless you taste side by side would be hard to tell the difference, certainly punches above its weight at £200 when compared to the £850 we paid for the Eletta almost 5 years ago. The Eletta if you can afford it is a great great machine, but when compared to other Delonghi models at a quarter the price, it's hard to justify the extra expense unless money is no object.
