Yeah, saw your comment, was nothing wrong with it. Sorry man.

I left a comment comparing the PX to the Momentums and it's been deleted, odd? I guess the moderator doesn't realise how close the PX and PX5 are

MrSwitch

(lol) (lol) Thanks for the heat

fwd079

Both are better than Sony. B&W is better than all three. I tried really hard to like Bose QC32 II despite a good noise cancelling system, but being an IEM guy just couldn't get myself to appreciate them. Personally if you have smaller earlobes then I'd go for these than any of the others. Heat added, Mrs Witch (original, I know (lol) )

Thanks. they GBP139 on Amazon at the moment brand new. Gonna give them a try.

Pretty good, and a steal at £85 at CeX when in stock, but it's a much older model without the latest BT chip, ie. not aptX HD or Adaptive. This is a late 2019 model, cutting edge tech

ProMint

what about KEF Porsche design Space One Wireless?

Thanks for all the help. After lots of researching I have just ordered the Dali IO-4 for £220. The PX7 were very tempting but I decided to go with something that has a flatter response and without enhanced bass frequencies. Also didn’t really need ANC

It’s my post so go easy please... I’m looking for the space grey ones but for anyone wanting the silver ones it’s the cheapest I can find atm.
adrian.cunliffe

Hi folks, I am looking for 2 sets of headphones, to listen to tv at night so doesn’t disturb the kids above . We have a Panasonic tx55ez952b TV. Do these headphones connect to the tv you know, or do we need some sort of receiver ? total novice at this sort of thing. We just want great quality earphones to cut out all noise, and kids can’t hear a peep

toondavee

Can you confirm which branch and what date you purchased the space grey ones? The Newcastle branch said that the would normally only match the same colour item (silver) but would be willing to provide the space grey ones if they could see that they have already supplied them at the reduced price.

ghow007

What warranty do Richer give on these? Thanks

Very good, amazing wireless sound, but uncomfortable on ears. This was sorted with px5/px7, waiting for a deal on these would seem sensible to me B&W's forte is sound quality, not ANC. If you'd be using them in very noisy environments I'd maybe look at other brands

All Android 10 phones support aptX Adaptive

trott3r

Just a FYI aptx adaptive (latest version) changes to the best quality it can support depending on signal quality/distance. Th PX7 supports it but i havent seen any DAplayers or phones that support it yet. I use my PX and did use the px7 on my pioneer xd-100r DAP but it is only apt-x standard version.

Shinoke

Does Sony support AptX HD? As LDAC is their codec - so that's what they normally use. Their headphones use LDAC and not AptX typically. LDAC implementations can range from AptX to AptX HD quality or higher really, depending on the bit rate supported/chosen it seems. I don't want to ditch my stylus. It looks like LG may be releasing a competitor to the Note though. Edit: Looks like Sony support AptX HD across most of their phones and headphones actually. Just not their true wireless earphones.

Plugman17

Yes Samsung only supporting apt x and ldac is very poor. Samsung state that it’s because it’s unstable well I moved from Samsung to Sony because of it. The Bluetooth range is around 20% better than the Samsung so I dont understand it.

pjn

Funnily enough, just been reading about the Shure Aonic 50 too. Early reviews are looking good.

Get these, PX sound very good too but uncomfortable, ANC not as good; KEF older model

italian_plastic

Torn between these the KEF Space One's and also the PX. Which one has the best overall sound quality? Also want some new headphones for work but also practical enough for plane travel.

deleted1655616

Those extra features you mention usually come at a premium if implemented with real QUALITY, not at 30%-50% of price. Yes definitely wired is king, but BT tech made huge strides, adding to cable-free convenience the ANC convenience, ideal for commuting, noisy offices, general out and about. Best, open-back, wired headphones now confined to home use

wanderer_forest

Most reviewers seem to rate the Sony's as class leading for active noise reduction, ahead of Bose. Personally, I'm not an audiophile and don't listen to much music so that's a plus. I would go for a budget pair that deliver 95% of the quality at 30-50% of the cost. The market is flooded with headphones that are good enough for the vast majority, along with all the extra features (call quality, dual pairing, voice assistants, aptx low latency etc) that are probably more important to non audiophiles than the high end minutiae of sound quality. If you really really want the best sound, surely wired headphones remain king?

deleted1655616

No intention of sounding cool, because I AM cool. I don't need to sound cool, I just don't care how I sound. Will never care. I just sound like myself, no other human being has my specific sound. Unique sound signature! (lol) 'Cans' it's what folks call these engineering marvels nowadays, vocab changes with time. Not a youngster here anymore, just keeping up with the kids...

For the start of a 5.1 setup, at LEAST Denon x2600 (I am running monitor audio silver 50's with the x2500 (upstairs for stereo only but wanted something that had all the bluetooth bells and whistles and running a second set of speakers) and they really do sing!

matej_jones

I've never owned the 606s so I can't give an informed opinion on them. Depends on what your end goal is really. If you're aiming for mainly a home cinema setup then getting a package is probably the best way to go. If you're going to be split between music (that should really only be listened to in stereo) and films then it might be worth spending a bit more on the fronts and making up your budget on the rears. Try r/homecinema on reddit and there's loads of advice on there.

HotBot

Depends on what you can afford. If I were to buy a package now I would get the Bronze 2, as they are being sold off (or Bronze 5 if you have room for floor standers).

I was thinking of getting a new NAD all in one system as it just seems like the next step forward for me.

Used to, had Marantz and Kenwood Amps but with Home entertainment becoming bigger made sense to use an AV receiver instead.

Verbal.Kint

I always dreamed of having the Nautilus's :(

johnno73

Would happily get these if my 601 S2's weren't still brilliant.

Verbal.Kint

Only as a generalisation floorstanders are going to sound different, usually better depth and low control due to the cabinet size. But a good stand or bookshelf can outperform a cheap floor and of course the aesthetics and practicalities are different. It's not fair to judge floor v stand in many ways, Apples and Oranges. For the money involved you really need to be able to do a working comparison, hopefully another 3 weeks and Richer demo rooms will be open. Edit: Just thought that Richer's CS is quite good and under the distance selling regs you could buy both, try out and return one set.

Yes there are quite a few of the air's on eBay. Must say I've had no problems with mine and its still going strong. Was considering trading in for a wireless though as they support android as well as iOS

majorwedgy84

cant comment on wireless, but talking specifically to Airs they dont take em. Looks like the standard zeppelin is still being taken so maybe worth trying to pass off as that if want to sell to them specifically. ebay/facebook likely to be better options

lord_trumpington

the airs are oos but they do have a C grade wireless available

majorwedgy84

Nope. Look again, no option to buy and no option to sell. They are unreliable and no doubt they had to pay out on fair few before deciding to pull them

CEX are still selling them. I was considering trading in my old air for the newer wireless model

B&W are one of the oldest Audiophile manufacturers in the UK albeit the headphone range has been around for around 8 to 10 years. I had the P7 and they were amazing.

deleted1655616

To be fair to Beats, Apple eventually forced them to grow up and deliver a more mainstream sound, supported by the owner's chip expertise. Studio 3 was turning point, upgrade due soon

theADDict

Oh man ... B&W are a different League then beats. I had the px.... Absolutely amazing sound. Literally I had tears listening to old tunes that I loved. However.... They are heavy and uncomfortable Now have the px7's, and while a little lighter, much comfier, the sound profile is no where near the perfect neutral crystal clear beauty of the px. Still looking for my perfect BT headphones.

fiqqer

Bowers & WIlkins produce high end speakers. The sound quality is first rate and these are very comfortable. £ for £ they make mince meant out of Beats products. Do Beats produce anything this high end? https://www.bowerswilkins.com/en-gb/home-audio/nautilus

Incremental improvement, if you have the PX's i'd say there's no pressing reason to upgrade.
