You normally get 2 yrs warranty along with Bose, I had issue they replaced be with a new headset , they give you a free pickup option and free replacement delivery

I agree about the downgrade element of your comment, although I must say that, having upgraded from the Mark 1 to the 2, then on to the 3, there was a massive improvement from the already excellent 2 to the 3. I’m glad I did it.

The Sony to these? wouldn't be an 'upgrade' - a downgrade if anything. And unless you have money to burn, probably not worth upgrading to XM3's

Worth upgrading from the 1000XM2 or not?

The Bose 700 are comfortable, but I’m not convinced when it comes to their durability, and the noise cancelling still isn’t at the levels of the Sony 1000XM3, in my opinion. I bought the Sony some time ago and tested out the Bose 700 recently to see if I should change - I decided not to because I already have the better of the two

You dodged a bullet because they're £214 from OnBuy. The thread here is poor price for these.

Really? I find the Bluetooth terrible. Even putting my phone into my pocket interferes with the signal. I had a pair replaced and they are the same. I literally have to stand still to use it, cannot walk around the room while the source is static. Might as well be wired.

They're headphones, not a pair of flared jeans.....

Probably important to be aware that there can be lag issues with these when watching videos. I can't get mine to sync the sound with video on Netflix, NowTV etc. Bose support are currently being rubbish and claiming that it's normal for Bluetooth headphones, but this isn't my first set of BT headphones and I've not had this problem before ... Bloody good headphones otherwise, great noise cancellation..

It has already dropped.

Not well. Bose brought out the 700s to take them on. Go with the B&W PXs. Then you can pretend to everyone you're an audiophile. That's what I do.

Behave son.

Get the Sony's better all round, some die hard Bose fans will claim they're a bit more comfortable... what they really mean is they're a smidgen lighter than the sony due to lacking lots of features. Shame the new Bose 700's look so awful

How do these compare to the SONY WH-1000XM3

Nope! You can get the qc25 for around £115 on ebay!

Is there a cheaper version without Alexa?

I have just two credit cards - Amex cashback and Clarity. The latter is used only for foreign transactions or when Amex (and PayPal) is not accepted.

I’m not worried in the slightest. I was interested in the cards in general and for sites abroad that aren’t as reputable as amazon. I was trying to get the best deal possible which would require a fee free card, which I don’t yet have. If Halifax clarity offers better protection I may as well go for that, not necessarily for this deal.

Thanks. I’ll probably go for the Clarity card. I just see loads of people using Revolut here and not much mention about protection. But thinking about it it’s usually for he various European amazon sites.

Heat added received mine today what a buy great sound 100% satisfied

Those are good headphones but having the ability to have 2 devices connected is a big one for me and Bose customer service is absolutely amazing had a few Sony products in the past getting through to someone is a nightmare. Also being much smaller on the head compared to the Sony’s is a big thing for me I can wear them in public and my anxiety won’t be at a high thinking people are looking at me. The flatter sound signature means they’re not powered by bass which can cause headaches to me, along with being much for looser on the head Both are amazing but I think the Bose are a better option for myself and the Sony’s might be a better option for you!

I was trying to sleep with them but I roll over a lot so I was scared I was gonna crush them (lol)

Problem is, these are so good, I sleep with them attached to head, now with summer holidays coming up, they will definitely come into use!

In my opinion do yourself a favour and get the Sony MX3’s over these, I think they’re better in every way

Costco today had Bose and Sony. I can confirm that the Bose ones felt lighter and slightly more comfortable. The Sony ones were marked "Bluetooth not operational - demo use only" but actually the Bluetooth worked fine and I was able to connect to my phone and play some ALAC music. I thought the sound was pretty good. Unfortunately the Bose ones did NOT connect to my Bluetooth, so I wasn't able to do a proper comparison. If the Sonys had Bluetooth 5.0 I'd probably have bought a pair. But as it is I can't help feeling I'm buying last-generation tech. Guess I need to wait for XM4 / 700 series and compare those. I wonder if an imminent XM4 is why Costco have the current deal on XM3s.

Yes, I believe the Bose ones are reckoned to be really good for calls

But the Bose ones are good on that no? I heard the Sony are not...

Obviously it comes from the original material, but no headphone speaker is capable of producing a flat frequency response from 20Hz to 20KHz, so to overcome the limitations of the speaker it probably boosts lower frequencies to compensate. That can often produce 'muddy' sound with a lack of clarity in the lower mid-range. No idea if it does on the Sony ones or not - I'll have to try to get an extended audition to find out whether I like it or not.

Thing is, it's not overblown bass at all... It's just what already exists on the source material, it doesn't find bass from anywhere and add it in artifically. I don't like too much Bass at all personally either, but i don't want anything filtered out either, i would like to make that choice myself And yeah, some people may want to listen to just audio books..... but the majority wiill be listening to music or movies with explosions etc, the Bose just won't have the same impact. Call quality is absolutely fine for me and the Sony app allows for you to alter the bass and has an equalizer too

I've got some. I love them. If I get mown down by a car I never heard coming, hope the headset survives for someone else to enjoy.

I have these, got them with a similar warranty. They’re genuinely amazing. I don’t usually spend this kind of money on things I don’t need but if I lost mine tomorrow I’d buy another pair. Makes travelling much easier with the house cancelling and you can wear them for hours very comfortably. Only downside is if it’s particularly hot where you are, they don’t breathe very well.

The low latency is a bummer really is you can tell it's out of sync but they're so comfortable that I didn't return them, great for flights I'll just use the cable to remove latency, not the most ideal solution but oh well

Those thinking about the Bose 700 - they don't even have AptX support, what a joke. But then nor do the QC 35 Premium headphones from a headphone/speaker company that don't even have decent sound. Can't believe I even gave consideration to these.

The Sony's aren't much good for people with big ears I've afraid. Small or medium only. I really don't rate Bose, tried the QC 35, and thought they felt cheap and plasticky - visible screw in the earcup hinge etc. But they were very light and comfortable, and the earcups are larger than that on the Sony and Sennheiser noise cancelling headphones. Do these not have bluetooth low latency then? That means they're no good for watching videos.

I love my AirPods!... and they dont mess up my hair on the way to work so bonus (lol)

Looks like they got delayed slightly to 11 July.

When is the release date?

Bose is far better than the Sony for comfort. This is because the Sony ear cups are too small - particularly if you wear specs. There is very little difference in noise cancelling. Sony sound quality may be slightly better. What worries me about the Bose ones is the non removable battery - which would likely fail in 3 years. Can't remember whether the Sony is removable

You'll likely find better deals for the QC35 once the new 700 model is released

Even if the performance was exactly the same as these it will bring the price of these down hence why I stand by my original comment

Beware of the QC 35's - they have a non-renewable lithium ion rechargeable battery inside. Once it stops holding a charge, you have to bin them.

What was the reason for that post>?

That is interesting, as I remember reading reviews of the QC25 that compared them to the QC15 and said that the noise cancelling may have slipped a tad in the re-design that allowed battery-less operation when noise-cancelling wasn't required. I guess battery-less operation isn't really an option with bluetooth headphones, so that would have been an easy win to just restore the QC15 design and add a battery+bluetooth module! :D

Boss that, lad (strong)

That depends entirely on what you listen to. The Bose, like the Sennheiser and AKG ANC offerings are pretty neautral in terms of a measured response, that's not subjective, that's fact. Rtings do a series of tests to report on their differences objectively. The Sony on the other hand are artifically bass heavy and colour the music, they're 'warm'. If you listen to EDM/Hip Hop, the Sony will suit the music well. If you listen to acoustic, vocal, classical or expansive sounds with a larger stage, then the Bose are the more accurate sounding headphones. Again, fact based. Whether you prefer accurate (the one with which the producers wanted it to be heard) or a coloured version of the music is down to your preference. Codec wise, musically unless you listen to a lot of lossless audio, you won't hear any benefit of SBC vs AAC (Bose)/AptX-LDAC, what you will hear is the drivers, the tuning, the response of what you placed over your ears. But, you will see the difference if you plan to watch a lot of video, there's a latency over SBC that will cause lip sync issues. If you want something with a neutral presentation but with AptX, check the cheaper Sennheiser PXC 550, they're my personal favourites and escape the limelight of the Bose/Sony war.

Warning if you have a sensitive inner ear: these things made me feel extremely sick. The noise cancelling creates a lot of pressure in the ears and can cause motion sickness. And the sound quality was pretty rubbish anyway, in my opinion.

Sony WH1000XM3 if you can get them at a similar price go for them much better sound and connectivity

Anyone tried Regent Street in London?

11 Silver pairs still available in Meadowhall when I bought a pair at 6pm tonight.

I bought a pair last Sat 27 at Ashford. See receipt abov

United Business Class used to provide Bose noise cancelling headphone when I travelled with them a lot. Never had the balls to nick a pair so I bought my own QC1s. Then QC11s and QC15s on the trade in deal that sadly is no more. They make such a difference on a long haul flight but even Nice to London I feel the benefit. My mate is on his way from Nice to the Philippines so I said he could use them on his trip if he managed to get me a pair at FNAC for €179. (Dealabs) Hope he’ll give them to me when he gets back as they’ll be my daughters Christmas prezzie. Btw United used to let us listen to the plane talking to the tower which I found fascinating.

Nice Airport OOS for the €179 new ones. But worth checking Dealabs for up to date info. Hopefully they’ll be back by Thursday as a friend said he’d pick up a pair for me
