It was not my intention to boast and I'm glad you're satisfied, I however was not. The RX 580 performs much better on paper than in real life. I use my GPU for simulation work, AI modelling, 3D design, rendering, and gaming, amongst other things. In all these areas, the RX 580 performed much worse than my previous GTX 980. I've no brand preference, and I love a bargain as much, if not more than the next person, but this is not a bargain. The reviews on Amazon will give you some indication of that. In my opinion, cheap hardware is a false economy.
Buy cheap buy twice doesn't really make sense in this market. It makes sense to buy at a certain price point and buy twice over a couple of years to ensure performance increases with advances. Either way you were complaining about a £150 gpu and boasting about buying a £400 gpu instead. It seems you would have been happy with a rx580 but spent 2.5 times more on something to do the same job. Not much of a bargain to me. - someone who is very satisfied with their rx 580.
My point being - buy cheap, buy twice. The RX 580 should've been on par with my GTX 980. As for the Punto, I owned one of those too once, and what a POS that was! So instead, I saved my pennies and now daily drive a 4 year old 450 HP competition spec Subaru (y)
Similar to how I bought a Fiat Punto that had issues with it's wiring, transmission etc. returned and replaced with a Ferrari 812 . Far superior...
Yes , sorry forgot to mention I also under volted. No issues with the card since I made these changes fingers crossed.
