Three data reward Sim

Posted 13th Jan 2022
Hi All.

Does anyone know if the three data reward SIM is still a thing?
I let one of mine lapse and the number has been disconnected, so I'm after something new for my MIFI thing.
I have seen that I can buy one for £10 and then get the 200MB of data a month free, but I can't seem to find the free SIM alone anymore.

Ta muchly

The dedicated freebie DR SIM order page at three dot co dot uk /Free_SIM_MBB/Order was taken down around 16 Dec 2021 and now diverts to standard 3 PAYG landing page.
Not aware of any other replacement order form for the freebie version.

Three's "store" subdomain suggests you can still get one, but it is bundled with 1GB data & costs £10.
Not clear how any subsequent freebie 200MB/month works, and may even be erroneous:
    store.three.co.uk/Mob…1GB
with similar £10 cost resulting via dedicated DR page at
    three.co.uk/dat…ard

RWG are charging now too. The era of completely free data seems to be at an end.

Not quite. With reference to 3UK, £10 is the initial one off charge, sort of administrative charge to send out the sim card and prevent people requesting multiple free cards as before. 1gb is bundled for first month's use but then 200mb free every month after that. Text messages are only 2p each and presumably a chargeable activity has to take place at least once every six months. One could say it is almost free!

When did this change? I activated another 'free' SIM in December.

I think it changed around the New Year - it seems you now have to pay an initial topup to get the free SIM (I ordered a free SIM in Dec that I only activated the other day, so definitely so no ongoing charge).
