You're probably right actually that if you keep it for a whole year you'd be fine. If you wanted a year's life insurance with these guys, that would be a win-win, but if you're only interested in the cashback (like I would be to be honest, having a long-running life insurance policy in place elsewhere), then you would suffer from diminishing returns. Profit would only be £28 if you keep the policy running for a year as opposed to 6 months. Which may or may not be worth the effort depending on your opinion.
PS, I ended up paying for at least 2 or 3 months extra when I last took out this offer, as L&G were really slow issuing the vouchers, and required chasing. (edited)
Wouldn't that constitute fraud?

The idea is you put no to everything, so not actually interested in the product, just the voucher.
"Legal & General reserves the right to cancel your Legal & General Life Insurance or Decreasing Life Insurance policy or your eligibility for an e-Gift card should we discover or have a reasonable suspicion that the terms and conditions of this offer are being abused."
Having insurance cancelled by the provider can cause issues when taking out insurance further down the line. Don't think I'll risk it.
If the fraud is discovered, then you will not get cover from that company again. Not worth the risk.
Even if you finished the full year the profit is £28 which isn't bad considering deals here for amazon are £6 for putting in £40-50.
But surely by agreeing to pay £6 a month for a year £72 in total and after cancelling after that period is not abusing L&G t&c?
I got that email through and it lets you choose the gift.
Yet here are we giving some of it away for free in exchange for fiery Great British and Northern Irish sales that may pique our interest!
£36
It's up to you if you can be bothered to wait 6 months for £64. Not much effort imo for free cash essentially.
So we should get this letter/email within 60 days of policy start date, though we don't get the e-gift until six months payments have been made?
Same here, anyone else has this problem and found a solution?
Had to contact them by phone to sort it out. Didn’t get original email but something similar

Just to update that, with a bit of patience, my other half's email came through today and we started the 167 day counter to receiving the amazon voucher
I'm also chasing up AIG for another £100 Amazon gift card, did anyone here take out Life Insurance with them around the same time? (edited)
I got an email this week, saying to select the free gift, but then have to wait the time scale to claim.
So can confirm it looks like you can claim for £5 per month
