Samsung Guarantee V Richer Sounds

Posted 20th May 2022
Just purchased the Samsung qe65qn95a from richer sounds price beat (£1,179) compared to Samsung's website offering of £1,199.

Richer sounds offer 6-year guarantee on the product compared to Samsung's 5-year guarantee.

I'm led to believe that the 6-year guarantee via richer sounds depreciates in value throughout the 6 years.

Would Samsung's 5 year guarantee be the same? Should I have went with Samsung direct?

Is one better than the other?

I've read millions of posts on here over the last few weeks and my head's all over the place. I'm thinking now it may have been better to have purchased it through Samsung.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I claimed on a richer sounds warranty a couple of years ago and they let me pick an equivalent model which cost more than I originally paid 3 years prior. Not sure if it’s the same now but I was super impressed.

Can't speak for Samsung but Richer Sounds it definitely depreciates. Which is fine by me. I had a TV develop a fault at 5 years and 11 months ish. It cost me around £1000 when new and once it was determined it could not be fixed which was after the 6 year mark they gave me a credit of around £550 and as tv's are cheaper now I got a 10" bigger upgraded TV for a few hundred quid out of my pocket. I cannot grumble at that really, pretty fortunate regarding the timing but I only buy my tv's from them for that reason.

On top of that the new one had quite a few dead pixels out of the box so they sent me out another one right away which had no dead pixels. I cannot fault their service at all.

Don't Richer still refund the warranty cost at the end if you have made no claims?

My Sony amp had a few months to run when it developed a buzzing, RC took it, gave me a like for like replacement and fixed the part, took about 2 weeks, but I was reminded that I wouldn't be able to claim the warranty cost back. (edited)

100% better off with RS, or pretty much anyone other than Samsung, i have loads of Samsung stuff but they are notorious for the bad Customer Service.

About 10 years ago my 47" 3D LG Tele had a weird green line going down one side after 11 months, RS sent it to LG who put a new panel in... A year later it happened again, they said it can't be fixed but we'll give you a like for like. The TV they offered was fine but I asked could I have credit and pay a little extra? They Said yeah no problem, so paid something like £100 and got a 55" 3D Samsung

Richer Sounds are great when it comes to warranty claims. I received a gift card to the full value of my purchase price after the LG TV developed a fault, the first time it was repaired. The second time RS offered a replacement, I opted for a gift card as I had another TV to use.

Don't worry, you're in safe hands with RicherSounds.

I've used Richer Sounds and got a replacement soundbar in the last 2 months of the warranty period. Totally hassle free. Additionally you need to remember that whilst it depreciates current high level tech gets cheaper as time goes on and is taken over by the next best thing. Consequently you should be able to get an equivalent TV should the worse happen in say 3/4 years
