Posted 4th Feb 2023
I Switched up to higher data plan but when I looked at future bill discovered had lost discount of 50% offf forever more ( I had a whole year left) called SKY who said can’t change back ..leave …or 25% offf (effectively 16% due to new price increase and 12 month contract so I left after 15 years

Good on you, I left Netflix after 35 years because of their price rises.

Whilst I understand you wanting to register here on a none sky related forum to post the rant/warn/rant. Sky has only had a mobile service for about 6/7 years.

Thanks for confirming that Sky respects "early upgrade+cancel" at no penalty (off premises sale).

Firstly, let me say that I do find you are the most helpful person on this discussion section.

However, I do think it's fair to challenge your response (regardless of it's legal validity) and ask why didn't Sky simply have the courtesy to mention to the OP that prior discounts would be lost.

Not everyone is legally savvy like yourself and Sky often use this to their advantage.

Sky are rip-off merchants anyway. You're better off without them. Congratulations ✊

Same here . I can’t change to a different plan with 50% discount anymore which i hv been doing for past 2 years . Best they can now do is 25% if I want to change . I also have 1 more year for my contract to end . They said this is the first time in 5 years they hv had price index increase . It’s also effected the free sim for life I took out 2 years ago and I will be charged £1 for it . (edited)

Agreed. Even after the rise paying £4.50 for 6GB and £1 for the 100MB sim. Also holiday in South Africa so paying £2 for 24 hours roaming is amazing. You can use your piggy bank as well.

My free SKY sim has gone up to £1 a month. But I agree with OP the reception and quality of the network since last year has been horrendous. I am currently looking to port over to one of the Lebara deals for the time being until after April.
