Accommodation suggestion in London

Posted 20th Jul 2023
Hi,

Could you please provide me with advice on where to book affordable accommodation in London for a group of 5 adults and a child?

I'm fine with zone 2,3 or 4 tbh.

Check out youth hostels yha.org.uk/pla…don - may get booked up over summer

Another option is LSE - which open up uni accomdation but can be basic but central locations

    lsevacations.co.uk/Hom…spx

    Good luck

Does it have to be within the GLC? You have to consider your commute time as well. At first thoughts Newham is relatively cheaper but may not be to everyone's taste.

    Thanks will look at Newham.

    I'm ok if it's in zone 2,3 or 4. Don't mind travelling.

Also what is the 'breakdown' of the five adults - ie which ones can share a room(s). You might find a Holiday Inn, Travel Lodge etc on the outskirts but it will still be dear plus all the travel costs.

Where in London are you visiting and for how long?

Haven't decided yet where I would be visiting, I don't mind travelling for an hour though if can get a cheaper stay.

Holiday Inn and travel lodge costing £300 a day at least.

I have a trip to London coming up, cheaper to stay just outside London, as long as theres a tube connection then happy days

Have a look at hotels around London Docklands usually pretty cheap and only a 10 min tube to central London. I've stayed in an ibis and a premier Inn at the docklands both were very good

How many rooms? When? Which side of London? Just stating which zones work doesn't help when it can take a long time to get across the city.

I second LSE accommodation, although very basic, it is in a very central location. Our school take 50-60 children each year and we always stay there! Can only book in non term time though. Breakfast is amazing!
