Does anyone know of a good deal on balloons?

Go on.....

This isn't some strange contraption designed / invented by Colin Furze is it? I'm now genuinely intrigued as to its alternative uses (I'm obviously very naive!) (highfive)

Not many options at the moment for those looking for bread makers
spatter Panasonic does. It says coming soon but that means in stock.

I do both. Bread makers and home made. Both are great. That's a bagel from bread machine dough. And a dog

Thank you! Much appreciated...

Wow, this looks amazing... Would you be kind enough to share the recipe, please....? Many thanks.

No hard feelings, too many people on here want argue over petty things and always think they know better than you hence the response. Apologies if it came across in the wrong way mate.

Selected quote instead of reply, sorry for the hurt feelings caused (fierce)

Either way someone has benefited due to this individual's good deed, I'm not really interested in a debate over this so I'm just posting my opinion. Please don't reply to my comment if you disagree. Thanks.

Panasonic breadmaker, they were oos everywhere.

If anyone is after a bread maker maybe try German Amazon I got one from the warehouse for about 60 delivered

Use mine often . I keep the loaf wrapped up in the fridge and it's good for three days. Mainly wholemeal with a good quality flour.

I use our bread maker a lot, and have one recipe where the bread keeps for ages. It’s a whole meal and rye loaf. It keeps several days. No preservatives. I rarely make white bread, but when I do, yes, it goes stale quickly. I often load the bread maker in the evening, with the timer set so the bread is ready for breakfast. I really cannot see the point in making an ordinary white loaf that you keep for several days? The ingredients cost more than the ready made loaf at the supermarket.

Yes you are right, I usually buy a loaf a week, I do however enjoy a bit of homemade crusty bread, I will see what I can find out about preservers, it is a shame that we are all put off by the use today or throw away scenario.

I've never frozen bread. Are the slices really soft and fresh once defrosted? :)

I just bought flour.

Did you just buy flour from there or do you have to do a large shop?

Baker. ;)

That's about twice what it should cost. I paid circa £7.50 for 16kg bread flour from JJ Foodservice Wholesale. They're selling essentials to the general public during the current pandemic at the normal price they'd sell to businesses.

Not everyone will have yogurt, lemon etc handy, especially at the moment

Easier just to add what's missing :)

flour is slightly acidic, so using this instead of baking powder will give you some lift, but not as much. Best to leave it for 20min as batter before putting it in the oven to get as much gas production as possible

Baking Powder is a mixture of Cream of Tartar and Bicarbonate of Soda (AKA Baking Soda). Commercial baking powder will also contain cornflour and possibly preservatives, both of which have no effects when it comes to baking so aren't needed if you're making your own. The ratio is 0.5tsp of cream of tartar to 0.25tsp of bicarb, the teaspoonfuls being level. If you want to make Self Raising Flour then use the above measurements for every 125g of Plain Flour. I find it easiest to make 500g of self raising flour at a time using 2 level teaspoonfuls of cream of tartar and 1 level teaspoonful of bicarbonate of soda. (y)

Or vinegar / lemon juice

You try getting the damn things on delivery or collect... Theres 2 types of large spuds, 1 type of new spuds (the most expensive), only the most expensive carrots, no broccoli, no beans, no parsnips.... It's terrible, and yet if you look through the windows there's tons of everything else, they are not allowing you to buy the cheap options on delivery or collect... The local Tesco is doing exactly the same, they are on a con over this now they realised they've got a trapped market...

Sounds like they had it covered then, you probably didn't need to join in aswell.

Good price, but would be better if they were actual baking potato size. Usually just medium sized whites & need to cook 2 for a decent sized meal with a side salad.

Went to Morrisons the other day. There was me and 3 workers stacking shelves in the whole shop. #KeepCorona

Not really upset...just telling facts to people Half my family work in the NHS So I'm the first one clapping on a Thursday. ..start as soon as I wake up...but I also give them a clap when they get home every day/night (depending on shift) Voted hot on deal previously....but it has been up for a probably expired now

You sound a little upset. Or jealous. That they're earning money for doing overtime in a really hard job. You weren't out clapping on Thursday were you. Voted cold.

NHS deal gone?!

Looks like its gone.... 😔

But that's the point. This deal is *NEVER* going to be for "others that need help". KitchenAid don't sell low cost items - I mean look how much a toaster is from them.... so what is the point in jumping on this deal and having a rant about it not being fair? If they were jumping on a supermarket opening early for NHS staff and not disabled, I could have some sympathy, but frankly it just smacks of "it's not fair, I want one and I can't afford it, so I'm going to moan at / guilt trip those that can" and they try to make a brand look bad / insult NHS workers. Which is fine, they are entitled to their opinion, but it still smells strongly of a moaner / troller.

No, the protein content varies, strong bread flour can be up to 14 % even higher sometimes. A good sourdough flour is about 12%, organic stoneground is the best.

This would go really well in my house, a very big house in the country ;)

Love to be able to put my hands on 1kg of plain flour.

These are recycled if we take them to the recycling centre, but we’re not allowed to put them in the recycling bins at home. Obviously, a special car trip to the recycling centre, is not exactly green.

Sounds like they handwashed it. These last less than a year in the dishwasher, so make sure to buy lots! Don't tell Greta cheese. Let's start a petition so that these are recyclable in the future.

Thanks for posting; we have added this thread to the Highlights section (y)
