Thanks @viashton I can never find a pen; buying these ensure I can never find 12 pens
All Chisel Discounts, Offers and Sale - June 2018
cheers got this, still going strong :)
It takes 2 clicks to cancel , easily done.
A month's free trial is a way of sucking you in - you then have to cancel. It's bit like dealers providing the first fix free!
Errrrm, actually you can buy the item for £10 by simply signing up to Amazon with a new email. You get a month free trial of Amazon prime. I've shopped with Amazon over 10 years and never paid postage once.
Half as bad isn't good! It's just another commercial drug - once you're hooked....... It removes the ability to weigh up each and every deal on its merits and adds a degree of obligation to use it rather than shop around. Back to the original point: YOU CANNOT BUY THIS ITEM FOR £10! Are people's faculties really so dulled by the Amazon drug that they cannot understand this?
Nice price I huntering from last year for that, thanks
Oos, good find tho
£15 amazon prime free del

Cheaper here http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stanley-RSLCQCFSS5L-FatMax-Folding-Chisel-/142447970409?epid=1613192120&hash=item212a8f8869:g:~ZAAAOSwwrtZy8hB
I’ve had one of these for a couple of years. As a Chisel it is far from great. It does work and for light use it gets the job done. If I was going to use it more I’d buy better. However I find it an invaluable tool for the bag. The butterfly handle means I no longer play Russian roulette with my fingers hunting through the bag. I also find this really handy for removing silicone from round the bath, sink, shower, etc. Opens boxes well, a handy wee pry bar, etc. If you don’t see this as a serious chisel, you’ll use and abuse it. Which is where is becomes useful.
I saw similar in tkmaxx for £9.99
Do chisels cost that much! Damn
Are these better than Stanley?
Lidl also have digital calipers at £9.99 at the moment.. I bought a pair, and they're really good for precision measurements ...
+1 for the belt sander suggestion. I sharpened all my chisels a couple of weeks ago on a 60 grit belt. The chisels are good quality and did not adversely affect the grit on the belt. Also useful for tidying up screwdrivers.
I bought one last year - I wouldn't waste my money on it. It doesn't sharpen drills with the correct relief and a pain to set it up in the jig. The knife sharpening is very hit and miss. Just gathering dust along side my normal bench grinder which is what I've gone back to using. Cold
Had this when laston offer... went back next day :-( Does a good angle on hss drills, but far too abrasive... more so than the grinder! Chisels are held by magnet, on a plastic sliding guide.. Its a toy :-(
yep, at this rate will need to find a hit deal on another shed X)
My experience is they are too soft, forever grinding them.
Also £14.99 @ screwfix
Yeah noticed the same with the generic looking Makita consumables. It's a shame as their power tools are nearly always excellent
A 13mm chuck should grab it and get u out of trouble but they are sds to not slip in chuck n provide max torque.
They are SDS fitting and will NOT fit a standard chuck. Any SDS drill will take them.
got these the other day. solid build and great solid case to hold them. bargain
I got the £6.99 set from BnQ. There are 6, a sharpening stone and case- They're great!
Now in stock for £19.99 ..
still £19.99 http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/c.html/ref=aw_ol_c_nn_1
Still available to order @ 19.99 from Amazon... :)
why has this been expired?
Ordered. Cheers OP
Yes, sorry I made a mistake I thought it was £24 for the set direct from Brooklyn. Checking back on what I actually paid it was £17.43 for the set.
Cheaper to buy the set via Brooklyns deal of the day, not EBay. Thanks op
If you want to get the whole set it is a bit cheaper to buy it off there ebay store £22.98 (ebay item: 110903596043) Edit: Ignore this I made a mistake the set is only £17.43 from Brooklyn direct
Thanks OP - just ordered a set.
Me too - seems like a good price for decent chisels as, from experience, I know that they can be VERY expensive. A lot of BRs daily deals aren't great IMO but occasionally a very good deal crops up, like this. They are also a great company to deal with. Quick CS service response and problems resolved very well. HOT
Well, these are reduced...
Get what you pay for with Chisels.
None in the Straiton Sainsbury's, I dont think they stock them.
My missus would use them as screwdrivers......
Good chisels for the price but aren't the same quality as the original English made 5002's.
We once watched an apprentice trying to chisel concrete on rotary hammer setting, oh how we laughed. :p
ha ha sds wood chisel . because of the rapid hammer action of the sds drill is so quick and shakey it wouldnt be good for a wood chisel.Bad idea , thats why there 50% off!!!!!
You wouldn't want to do it on drill mode is the point I'm making - hammer mode, sure, but for drilling you'd want an auger. I wouldn't want people thinking that they can use their sds adapter in a normal drill and trying to use these chisels in it.
Updated to read "hammer action of the drill"....although...LikeYouDontWantToKnow said...notches :p
You would if you were a plumber wanting to notch joists
wish id added these to my drill set :(
deal of the day ......... now £7.89
very good deal
Been looking for a decent set of chisels, looks like you found them for me Op, H & R for you thanks! Ordered and picking them up at my local Screwfix Counter on Monday. Although the deal shows reduced to £8.80 from £19.99 the set appears in the new catalogue No. 96 on page 697 at £31.99! So a really Hot Deal!
