Any idea what the difference between this and the DW341K is- the 341k appears to be the newer version

Sorry, But just cos it say's Dewalt on the side means nothing, I had one of these cheaper Dewalt's for work, Dog of a tool, No matter what I did it couldn't hold it's blade straight, No better than any other cheap jigsaw.

Great deal ordered. Cashback with Quidco and Top cash back as well.

I must be tired... Just read "10 piece Jigsaw"... And thought to myself "that won't take very long to complete... 😁

Decent deal Tenner on amazon for the Bosch blue set which is a good deal if you’re looking for blades with a longer shelf life. Bosch Robust Line Wood and Metal Jigsaw Blade Set, 10 Pieces https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001IBMNU0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_bm4uBbZ7P9W30

Good dea, butl on ebay is a better price difference for £7.49 in a few pence compared with prime (but would rather get next day delivery for a few pence) but better of for non prime members https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142744238830?clk_rvr_id=1583221896908&rmvSB=true

Curious why this is cold - can’t buy them cheaper anywhere online, and they are the cheapest they’ve ever been on Amazon...? I did a google search and I can’t find them cheaper anywhere! Strange.

DeWalt Dewalt DT2290 Jigsaw Wood Blade Set (10 Blades) - £7.57 Prime / £12.06 non Prime @ Amazon
Found 30th JunFound 30th Jun
Usually a tenner, good set. Also HSS metal set listed separately.

Completely different product and not in any way comparable. The metal will be softer, the teeth ejection will be lacking, and they last no way near as long. The Silverline ones are fine for rough, basic work. If you’re doing anything which requires precision/not burning the wood/won’t bend after a couple of uses then you spend a little extra. Cheap power tool accessories have always been a false investment for anyone other than very basic DIYers from my experience.

Or if you on a tight budget, you can get a Silverline five piece set from FFX with free postage for only £1.31...

Dont know why people vote cold and not give any advice but found here they are pennies difference but you would have to pay postage £5.75 on top. But find the Amazon deal better even if you dont have prime. So votted Hot. https://www.powertoolsuk.co.uk/dewalt-dt2290-jigsaw-blade.html

What can you cut with this ?

I think I'll go for lidl one. More powerful 800w a light and laser guide. It's cheaper also and still German made obviously not Bosch. Only thing I'm not too sure about is design. Anyone used this particular design before? Any negative or positive design feedback will be appreciated.

Bosch is usually a no-brainer, Check it cuts straight though, I seem to recall a bunch of these not being aligned correctly. It's an exception, honest.

Cheap. But i do wish I'd bought one with a little more power. Still, this will get the job done eventually.

If possible i only buy Bosh tools, they have always been fantastic

I went to get one yesterday but they hadn't received them in the delivery lorry, comeback tomorrow, so I went today and they said they aren't getting any. The in store advertisement signs had also been removed. (annoyed)

Man, just Let it Go...

I was after one of that famous Disney male mouse, but they had none left! Someone has definitely been taking the Mickey!

I'd get one of those "3-5" years from Disney shop, last time I took me only 4 months to complete.

Thank you, I'll give it another shot later nice n slow, fingers crossed, as if it is that I will be very happy. Incidentally I ended up free handing it to try correct, and while it's closer to the line it's more wobbly. Just knowing that people manage to get acceptable cuts has given me hope and the confidence to try again.

I think quality save is in greater Manchester only and only certain places at that. Home bargains is whole of the u.k. It's odd though

Yeah, there are lots of both Home bargains and Quality Save about, but come to think of it... never both shops in the same centre...hmmm...

They are the same, do u have both shops near u too? Gotta related somewhere

Hmm, I took a pic of some thorntons that I thought might be a good deal- don’t think they’re that good, so didn’t bother posting, but look at the price label...

Hmm just googled. Don't think they are the same company but the have to same supplier if produce: They are supplied for by TJ Morris Ltd. Because of this, Quality Save is often confused with Home Bargains. That's off Wikipedia (y)

They do. The idea is so simple its brilliant (y) I use a small one about 1 1/2 foot with a bit of wood screwed underneath at 90 degrees for quickly cutting/squaring the ends on bits of wood/cladding etc.

Thanks, I'm going to make one of these, could save a lot of time and effort. (y)

^^ Jus sayin' ;) Saves the mental effort of calculating your blade offset as well, clamp it right at the cut line and go... :)

You could just use a 1200mm level clamped to the plywood sheet as it will do the same job as this clamp from Lidl, that's what I used to do until I got myself a plunge saw with guide rails

Yes, that was the very reason I asked my question above and, judging by the replies, the answer is no. It seems it will only take a workpiece of about 100cm (1000mm) and an 8 x 4 sheet is 2440mm x 1220mm. A pity, because most of the things I cut come in 8 x 4 sheets.

The SELs were there, just no items. Asked a member of staff but he couldn't say if they'd come in, and apparently if they don't arrive on the right delivery chanced are they went to another store and won't come in. Interestingly one SEL said reciprocating saw, but that isn't listed as being at mine anyway.

Lidl deals are regional. Check on line with your postcode.

Empty shelves in my local, no sign of this or several other bits. Either they'd all been cleared out before lunchtime or they didn't arrive :(

Got one last year can't fault it. Redone my roof and it must of cut about 50 lats on one battery.

Personal preference obviously, but I find the body-grip jigsaws much better than conventional D-grip ones. If you've got small hands the Metabo equivalent might be worth a look as it has a slimmer body.

Are the blades standard on these ? Will any jigsaw blade fit ? Cheers

If they censor their own reviews they probably have a team of brown tongued lackeys posting on here . No wonder every £5 0ff £1000 spend argos deal gets voted hot.

I missed out last time so ended up buying Guild 750w ( buyer return ) noticed the screws holding the blade in are naff so bought some new ones and cuts through 22mm chipboard lovely!

beware Argos reviews, I bought the Guild drill and discovered the description was copy/pasted from a more expensive model. Customer services only solution was take it back, 30 mile trip, no recompense. Wrote this in review, Argos review people rejected it... No value in reviews if the business being reviewed decides what goes in
