It is a cooperative product just like before, Philips provide the lighting part and Xiaomi do the “smart” bits.

Sengled Wi-Fi Classic, Smart LED Light Bulb Works with Alexa and Google Assistant, without hub (2.4GHz WiFi to Router) 7.99 from 15.99
doddza69

As per the numerous reviews these only work on selected broadband hubs. Doesn’t work with BT hub and an absolute nightmare without the Sengled hub

I can add them through ST Not sure how they connect to ST but I would have also said zigbee. If Wifi bulb was able to be added to ST I would have thought the ever so popular Yeelight bulbs would have already found a way...

dwl99

I thought it connected via 2.4 GHz WiFi rather than Zigbee?

Somebody

Correct. Connects as a zigbee bulb.

They also do a bayonet version but you can buy adapters.

Can I ask why do all these bulbs have screw in. Is it as easy to get bayonet type?? Thank you all in advance.

Had the same problem when the outdoor LightStrip went to 112 quid. Put it on here and people vote it down just because they wouldn't pay that price. I just bought this deal, because I would pay this price. Cheers for the heads up.

Bradders69

I have just accidentally selected cold and can’t change it! If it’s cheaper than anywhere else it’s a good deal end of!

sureshot

Normally I’d agree with 110%, but recently I’ve just seen way too many deals, especially freebies that are voted cold, without any explanation.

sureshot

Strictly speaking it may not be, but I’ve got some extremely good advice from members here. Moreover, this site is about community. We support each other in not only getting the best deals, also getting the best out of our purchases.

jamhops

So I also think if a knowledgable person knows of a comparable product for less that counts. Also OP next time put the before/rrp price so it shows people the saving % when they vote (also include @ amazon in the title)

From the picture they seem to be mainly halogen which are simply not worth buying nowadays. They'll cost you about ten times more to run than the equivalent LED, it's not suprising they're almost giving them away

I screwed 2nd one inside my pitch black wardrobe and it give plenty light. Might go pick up two extra just to lay around.

Tetsumi

Thats pretty cool, so just out of interest, do you use your TV like normal say with a google chrome cast or are you literally playing stuff from your PC onto that TV?

Mike_Gibson

The ambilight tv is my next purchase, just waiting for prices to drop for the size i want. I'm using a computer with Hue Sync installed it works perfectly for my home setup as we have it next to my main tv.

KCooperman

My guess is he has a philips ambilight tv...

Tetsumi

So you can set up an entertainment area - for example "gaming area" so this for me would be 2 bloom/playbar lights behind the screen facing 45 degrees outwards at the wall, and then use a light strip which is also included, then you let Hue Sync do the rest for you, choosing game and then choose your main monitor :) You need a hub to control the colours or any entertainment features, however you can turn these on to be a normal yellow/white colour like any bulb you just cant adjust without the hub. How do you link them with your TV? my TV doesn't support anything fancy and dont really want my phone to be constantly looking at the image on the screen to do it. We can do it on our PC's now with Hue Sync, but still looking for a TV equivalent.
