Who doesn't appreciate a Big Clive video? His little asides, plus his determination to educate us into the world of duff electrical gear, along with his regard to going the distance even if it's mildly dangerous, make him a favourite of mine. Oh, and hot for the light thingy too.

Im sure Ive got Mysophonia all I can hear in this video is him eating a chocolate ball how long do those mothers take to dissolve (horror)

I was just about to reply that he's reviewed this already, but someone got there before me. I still watch his videos, even if I don't understand when it gets too techie :)

Don't think he was too impressed by them ;)

You need the most recent Big Clive 2017 Halloween review to complete the experience:

Blooming USB (annoyed) ;( arrived today, how can I use these at my daughters wedding?

It must have a coating because otherwise it would short out and not work. The ones I have have a clear thin coating.

The clear plastic wiring is covering only around 2feet of the wire ..then it's uncovered copper wire

If they are anything like the similar ones I have bought in the past then the wires will be coated in a clear plastic covering.

Got it before it expired, thats OP!

Osram Smart+ GU10, Multi-Colour 6 W - £19.79 prime / £24.28 non prime @ Amazon UK

Seems like a good deal, works similarly to Phillips Hue but at a much cheaper price.

Hi - re the camera.....do you know how many Xiaomi products you can connect ? I guess it acts like a gateway, rather than having a separate gateway included?

Yes, anything ZigBee should work

I didnt find them as bright as just the standard white osram smart bulbs but the colour option is good

Gone up a little bit since I got mine... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292534717165?ul_noapp=true If you haven't got one or access to one for a whole five minutes, you will need one of these to flash it too which would bring the total up to £16... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/142243984141?ul_noapp=true Alternatively you can flash it with an Arduino but for the sake of a few quid it's a lot of messing about.

Where did you get your usb sniffer for zigbee from for £6 please?

Thanks OP, got the Blackburn lights (front one at 75 Lumens is stronger than I need for commuting in London) but can't fault it at £4.50!

Tredz are also doing the OnGuard Brute for similar. This is a 16mm as opposed to the 14mm but doesn't come with a cable. Decent prices across the range! I've got the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Mini which is ace. However, luckily I no longer live in London and commute to a secure site so my spidey-sense is dialled right down.

Ah the one I have is 14mm (see here: https://www.tredz.co.uk/.OnGuard-Pitbull-Mini-DT-Shackle-Lock-with-Cable_61152.htm). I wrote one of the reviews but just noticed I've only had the lock 4 years, not the 5 years I stated above. But yes, you can get locks that should be even more secure but they usually weigh more, cost more, or both. For me, the above lock has sufficient security (I think it's Gold standard) and still be convenient enough for everyday use. And a very reasonable price of course! But everyone's requirements and budgets are different.

Read the ops comments hence my comment, being smart I bought mine in spring early summer (strong)

Only 13mm though. I'd be wary of using it as a primary lock on anything worth a few bob. This is a fantastic no-nonsense list of the top locks you can get. Well worth bookmarking: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/144109/

My link previously refers to ones from last years deal. Click to zoom in on pic then you'll see the switch on the side. It goes upto 90 secs. You've picked the wrong ones by choice. The longer duration ones do exist from Lidl. Suggest to hold out until Lidl releases them again. Livarno Lux LED Night Light

I did buy one of each from the last Lidl deal and they both stay on for about 45 seconds.

Lidl do have battery & mains motion ones that can stay on for up to 60/90 secs. I have one from last deal. You'll just have to wait until the next deal comes back. As Winter is approaching very soon, I'm sure these will be back soon.

They had nicer looking ones in Lidl recently for £3.99. As for switching off after 20 seconds that is much too short. The Lidl ones switch off after 45 seconds but in reality a bit longer would be better, after all they are very low power led so having them on longer is only going to cost pennies at most.

we have the lindam one and pretty happy with having them in the hallway.. though i must say at £3.50 the one posted by mymymy above definitely looks nice..

Great price for what they normally go for, have some heat!

I set it a few PSI more as it drops once stopped on my 18" wheels, I have a decent analog pressure gauge I use after to get it spot on. My old RAC640 was more accurate but I wanted something smaller to leave in the car

I have the older digital model, apart from losing the football adaptor everything still works great, don't think this is worth double the price I paid then. Unless you are in a hurry simply wait for it to drop again.

I remember there being a lot of reports of the digi display packing up on these. So i bought the cheaper analogue RAC610 one. Had it about 8 years now and still works fine. Was well worth £8. When these are going they vibrate like hell, which is what i think kills a digi display. My advice, buy the cheaper analogue one.

I have one of these. Paid less last year. Happy with it but every now and then it doesn't seem to stop when it reaches the desired pressure. Anyone else having this issue?

I bought the older Ring RAC630 model back in 2012 for around £14 and found it very reliable. Had a slow puncture for last 3 years so gets used once every couple of weeks or so. Would've replaced the tyres but they are 255/40/R18 run flats and I cant justify the price when they still have quite a bit of tread left. It has been little to no hassle topping them up, but can't vouch that this newer RAC635 model is as reliable.

Thanks, OP. My set of magnifier/specs arrived today (16th Aug 2018), that's 14 days after I placed the order with BangGood. And they are very good, too. As already mentioned, with a magnification of x20, they are designed for extreme close-up inspection work. They work well, especially with the included LED lights. Great job, thank you.

Always glad to help :) Make it a great weekend

Ordered, she says thanks...

If it's that small that she needs these, Gear Best do several USB magic wands and mains powered ones. Just sayin' If it's a look you are into that's another thing entirely. ;)

I think TPVision (,new owners of Philips TV division) should buy out Philips Hue division and stop the rip off pricing (their TV range is now supeb value) (cheeky)

Just a word of warning, I had a hue light in an out door porch for a few months. I think the recent heat killed the bulb. Not sure if these ones they are selling for outdoor use are more tolerant of temperatures?

Just got simple Hue ones, they are cheap and really good.

Thank you for this! :) Think I prefer these square designs too, my other option was getting a clear globe style and some Yeelights in there

I actually think this is a good deal. Is anyone able to point me in the direction of a cheaper one please?

Ladies hot = this exact item is cheaper than you can currently get elsewhere. Cold = you can get this exact item cheaper elsewhere. Cold does not equal “you can get something that looks a bit like this but isn’t this cheaper”.

Bought mine for a fiver works locally via wifi not remotely so doesnt need a server and seems to do everything the Phillips can and mine is 5 metres! 50 Sovvs for an led strip and small wireless controller circuit roflmao some people are Brand monkeys!

Cheaper alternatives are useless If they do not play well 100% with your existing devices. Even the ones that are discoverable by the hue app, are not compatible with many features within the hue ecosystem and therefore about as much use as a chocolate fireguard to me. Youre talking about backend servers - you realise hue needs these also to route out of home control to your hue hub? You realise Phillips do put r&d into these devices? You can research into the way that colour termperature of LED lights is tracked in a bi-axis curve instead of a flat line, and the challenges that brings. There’s also testing with all the various accessories and infrastructure they’ve release or about to release on a constantly changing roadmap with new products coming out all the time. These are fairly niche products that don’t just create themselves, cost money to design test and build.

It may not be cheaper somewhere else, but their are cheaper alternatives. The design and technology involved in building an Echo Dot (one of your examples), along with the software and back end servers running it, and continous updates is a lot different to a simple LED lightstrip. I can appreciate the RND that goes in to a more technical product, or a product that needs further development or management throughout its lifespan. However some products markup prices are not justifiable and do not offer a good deal for the consumer, customers who accept this are part of the problem when it comes to inflated prices on products. We all have our opinions, mine is a load of rubbish according to you, but to me and others, despite this being a lower price than normal, it is not a good deal.
