Got one from the tat truck and free popcorn :) They must be loosing money on this - surprised if they sold double figures of the bulb when I collected it.

Hallway lights with motion sensor (hue) most simple thing but awesome (after perusing the misses not to touch the switch) day and night they are the brightness I want :) The other lights are best for when I am on holiday or want a bit of light with Alexa's help... i Just ignore the money I spent as it added up slowly lol

It's like all conveniences, they don't sound so great until you have them and wouldn't want to go back. "Why would I need the air conditioning when I could open a window to get proper fresh air!" Personally smart bulbs (at 10 quid a pop, no hub, xiaomi yeelights) added timers so the lights now switch off at 11 without me thinking about it, they also come up slowly in the mornings to wake me up. They turn off when I leave for work. Nothing too amazing so far. It was when I added a Google Home to the mix that they became really useful. A hands-free interface for the lights so when you've just sat down to watch a movie with your other half and you've accidentally left the lights on you can turn off the lights without getting up.

I intend to revisit it in future but with smart-switches rather than smart-bulbs so it's backwards compatible with old-habits. I wouldn't go for these as they're not apple-homekit compatible afaik, I was just talking about smart-lights in general. :)

However, you're not being open minded, to the fact other people find them useful, at all. Most have attempted to explain their situation and you still persist and therefore come across as wanting to pick a fight (or trolling), whereas if you had accepted that some find benefit and then replied "thanks, but I still don't see a use for me", then fine. Your counter arguments about "surely any motion activated light does exactly the same" or "buy a cheap remote controlled light switch" still involve some expense and potential wiring that not everyone is comfortable with, plus this can combine those features for a start, along with the convenience of an app and syncing with existing IFTTT services etc. Likewise, where you questioned why you wanted a light on when you're not in, well plenty of people leave a light on when out for security, or use a lamp with a timer, so this is another pretty obvious benefit that further questioned your intentions. If you think I am being defensive, then fine, but I actually don't have this product myself, but am interested and thinking it could be potentially useful, at the right price.

Think fire flys in a jar.

I had the same issue with the single solar light bulbs from pound shop same design , i just heated up a needle at the bottom to make a small hole which you cant see to let the water out , really badly designed .

These are rubbish. One small led at the top of each bulb. Taking mine back. The B&M Bargain ones are good with several LED's per bulb. Very bright and long lasting.

i bought similar to these from Asda and both sets stopped working, the bulbs actually filled with water believe it or not.

did you clean it with vinegar every now and then? and use filtered water? If you're in London these devices wont last 5 min! our water is so bad!

Contact Amazon about the order, doesn't necessarily have to be in the returns section. I did this for my girlfriends cheap waxing pot that gave up the ghost after 7 months and, even though it was not supplied by amazon they still refunded me via a gift voucher that was activated once they received the returned item after sending it to them free post.

Phone them or get in contact with the manufacturer, must have at least a year warranty

To be fair, it is pictured next to a phone with an app running...

Elmoandtelly03: I would have sent it back How to go about with that? No option to anymore on Amazon.

💷 If it's pure value you're looking for you can't go wrong with the IKEA lights. We bought them for our wedding marquee back in 2012, then used them in our first house and still going strong in second 🏠 as well.

Just picked mine up, staff wernt aware of the offer. Still had the discount

It beats my current setup which is a Yeelight in a socket with just a wire and no shade. Was going to try finding a glass ball for it to make a sort of DIY ambi-light but when seen these 2 thought they'd do nicely. Its just braving the trip to Ikea without getting lost

I've got one of these, although they are cheap, they are quite flimsy and are not at all stylish. But they do the job.

Decided to go for these instead, seem much better value and uplighter/ambient

Must be all about that dirty affiliate income Gearbest pays out.

Voted cold, sorry but they're trying to conveniently manipulate everybody here.

The problem isn't oos or old deals.. it's HUKDs weird "whitelist" for Chinese vendors on Amazon. They don't actually share the list with anyone but the amount of deals I've seen deleted because the seller is from China is crazy, considering the cheap trash you can buy from gearbest where customer service is awful yet posting a deal sold by Chinese vendor but fulfilled by Amazon(easy returns etc) isn't allowed?? Baffles me..

Ordered! Thanks to new Ikea light fittings I’m on all E27’s for the main lights. Thanks OP!

I'm after white ambient as the wife always moans cool is too blue and warm too yellow, with the ambient she can't complain. Don't see the point paying through the nose for colours that'll get used the first day and likely never again unless by accident.

How long do these types of bulbs usually last for? A few years max. or closer to 10? Could someone please take a look at this thread and give me your opinions? Thank you x2

Don't they know most standard UK light fittings are bayonet?! (annoyed)
