Fact is fact though. 6500k is as close to natural light as you going to get. Any more then 6500k and yes you will notice blue. I understand everyone has preferred light colour and 6500k isn't yours. I love it though. Perfect for kitchens and bathrooms.

6500K might be an attempt to replicate natural light but that colour temp gives an awful bluish hue to everything. Blue light is being shown to have health implications as we move from incandescent to LED.

OP is this for six?

6500k is natural light. Horrible natural light AHH.

Yes, these will be fine as you're main light but at 9.5w (60w equivalent) you might find them a little dim for certain areas.

Are these bulbs just for lamps wall lamps etc or can I use these bulbs as main light fittings

Good price, heat added. Note that these are not dimmable,

Great price, paid £6.66 on the last promo.

They used a 40 watt bulb for heat, not thermite.

Thanks I needed to buy a replacement lamp for my daughter. The glass on these just sits in the base and I accidentally knocked it over, cracking the glass. Not ideal for kids that will touch it or clumsy parents.

Thanks for the feed back :)

One of those intoxicated student nights!!??

Thanks op!

Philips Wake-Up Light Alarm Clock HF3520/01 Coloured Sunrise Simulation - 5 Sounds and Radio Function £84.99 @ Amazon

Because I bought the one from the deal the other day thinking it was a good deal as it had over 200 heat, then this one with a little less features gets incredibly down voted... Maybe the other one actually wasn't a good deal...

maybe the price, I personally do not know. I do wonder why some people get so concerned when a deal they post is voted as cold and ask for explanations. Do people get paid for posting deals?

yeah there are couple of feature different, Phillips don't exactly make it easy to find the differences. The most major one for me is that this one only has an 8 minute battery life, the 7 sounds one has a 4-8 hour battery life.

much as i hate to agree with tempt - its a lower model for only slightly lower price though the difference isn't only 2 sounds, even on the highlights spec comparison this one is missing a midnight light (whatever that is) as well as a usb port (for whatever reason) and there are probably some other differences this one has been this price before, the other one was a tenner cheaper than had ever been on amazon (ignoring lightning deals)

I can't believe how cold this one is going when the one the other day went to over 200 degrees, perhaps there was vote manipulation on the last one to influence people to buy it.

Ordered!! Thanks for that. I need some of these to light up my life

You can get non-flicker LED G9 bulbs but it's hard to find them as small and bright as incandescent bulbs with a decent lifetime. I went through a lot of cheap ebay ones before finding some 8w Ultrafire LEDs and they still aren't as bright as the halogens were. Even those have only been in for a year now. It's telling that the highest power ones that Phillips do are 2.5w 204 lumens. I have found big chunky LED bulbs with a G9 fitting that were bright but one of them failed after about 6 months. The good ones I got were from FastTech.

Hot, I paid nearly £10 for these at B&Q beginning of this year (fierce)

Some people are never happy. You're putting your own obstacles in your own way. LED, Dimmable, Purist, Free knowledge... feel free to add more to the list.

Non dimmable though. (fierce)

I got some at the weekend to go along with the one I already had. The only flower for about 4 weeks with big stunning gorgeous flower heads. Once they flower I don't cut back or anything I just leave the lovely green foliage and also the seed heads.

It actually has many different types :)

I've got "peony in my garden and blooms in June for about 4weeks it's not very long but it's an absolute stunner of a plant.

I like Peonies they produce a beautiful flower but sadly not for very long 2 weeks if your lucky & if it rains hard on them while in bloom they go into a soggy mess.

What wattage are they screw or bayonet

Osram 50w led flood light with PIR - £24.78 @ Amazon
Found 10th OctFound 10th Oct
Good quality branded spotlight at a great price.

The one you mentioned is not driverless. It also has an embedded IR sensor - it is better to have a sensor separately installed as it is another element which can break - sorry - will break sooner than LED array.

Not sold anymore?

Next time pick a driverless floodlight - usually LED driver fails while the LED array is still working fine. I am using my Brackenheath iSpot 50W from Screwfix for a couple of years now without issues but it is not sold anymore surely due to lowering their floodlight sales because of it's durability.

Yes you can...just make sure the plug has a 5amp fuse in

I bought different once from Amazon they failed in less than a year the support from Amazon was less than help full for things like this i would go to a bricks and mortar shop that you can take back

Osram Smart+ GU10, Multi-Colour 6 W - £19.79 prime / £24.28 non prime @ Amazon UK

Seems like a good deal, works similarly to Phillips Hue but at a much cheaper price.

Hi - re the you know how many Xiaomi products you can connect ? I guess it acts like a gateway, rather than having a separate gateway included?

Yes, anything ZigBee should work

I didnt find them as bright as just the standard white osram smart bulbs but the colour option is good

Gone up a little bit since I got mine... If you haven't got one or access to one for a whole five minutes, you will need one of these to flash it too which would bring the total up to £16... Alternatively you can flash it with an Arduino but for the sake of a few quid it's a lot of messing about.

Where did you get your usb sniffer for zigbee from for £6 please?

And yet I still think in MPG when it comes to car economy, the fuel is sold in litres and my speedo shows units in miles

If you don't want a bright bulb you no longer look at the wattage at all, going forward you only look at the LUMENS the higher the lumens the brighter the bulb and then the only other consideration is COOL WHITE/WARM WHITE (cold light is very clinical and not many like it) Wattage is now dead and the tech will be constantly moving so your 6W in 2 years will probably be 3W etc but the lumen/light output will always be the same.

Lately I've been replacing the last incandescents with LED bulbs and if the shade is thin or a glass bowl type, or it it's for a table lamp, finding 60W equivalent too bright, so had to source 6W (40W equiv) LED bulbs instead.

It's saying 1-2 months now and no subscribe and save option anymore.

Did you get yours? I'm struggling to connect to Hue or Smartthings app. Have you managed to yet?

I think you need a hub. I'm planning to use with my Smartthings hub

Mine arrived today though I forgot I'll need a eu adapter

Can someone help me out please. Do I need some kind of gateway for this , or can I operate it straight from an app?

My bad! I've become so used to Amazon Prime, I forget to factor that in.
