Building a gaming PC

Posted 23rd Jul 2023
Hi,
I was hoping someone could give me some advice about building a gaming PC for my 13 year old boy.
He has worked extremely hard this year at school, so I told him we could build a gaming PC together this summer. He currently uses a laptop for games, but it is about 10 years old which he uses for his homework. Therefore the games he plays are very basic. I want the machine to be able to play games at an ok rate, doesn't have to be max settings. I have a budget of about 1k.

There appears to be some good components posted in the last few days such as:

SSD:
hotukdeals.com/dea…597

Graphicss Card:
hotukdeals.com/dea…878

Would these be ok for a new build within my budget?
Also, what other deals are good for the other parts, which would all work together.

I have not built a PC for about 10 years, so everything is all very new to me.
Oh, I think his main requirement is that it has the fancy RGB lights.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

A PC that can play games and a gaming PC are 2 entirely different beasts.
£1k starting budget for a gaming PC is about the norm, if you can do it cheaper - do share the specs!
Looks like this deal just popped up - even has the RGB requirement!
