Good price, but no good for me, I’m 6’1”.
All Black & Decker Discounts, Offers and Sale - August 2018
Good price but be aware that it's tiny: very small lawns only.
That is why I booked two of them in different shops. At first some parts were missing but the one I purchased from another was fine. Box was damaged, true. There is still one on London at Hanger Lane 100% fine, as I canceled my order.
It might well be a good price, but as it's from Wickes I suspected there would be issues with this. I got no call from them or text. I had to chase customer services. They got the store to call me who said all the boxes were badly damaged. I wasn't going to risk things missing from it. I'll wait for a deal elsewhere or buy a different product instead.
Sweet, on the complete off chance went into Sittingbourne store en route to somewhere else, had one left which was £20 down to £10 due to missing some fixings, used Wickes Pro card for another 10% off so paid £9, got it home, built it, two fixings missing, called B&D spare parts line and in post, 1st class arrive tomorrow. So from me a huge thank you Mateusz_Margol
I wouldn't hold your breath. reserved one last night and paid via paypal, then get told today they are out of stock. Wickes are an absolute joke when it comes to their click and collect service. This is the 3rd time its happened, complained to customer services who don't want to know. Wickes really need to sort themselves out, completely useless compared to others. Moan over (annoyed)
Thanks OP. just picked mine up. There are still 1 each in Shipley & Ealing according to website
I wouldn't try to blow it if I were you ;)
Thanks OP, just picked up the last one in Hamilton. Surprisingly good vacuum (handheld works well too) compared to the Bosch one I have which was significantly more expensive. Briefly tested as it's for a relative.
80% 4 & 5 Star. Reading the low scores they are largely about failure to charge: I have one and find it great but just once it failed to charge: I'm pretty certain it's because I hadn't put back fully into the charging cradle (too easy to do but now I know...).
Is that a detachable whistle !!!
Got one. Great piece of kit. I usually hate black and decker stuff if I'm honest but this is really good for money. Still hate them for not making Dyson style filters. It is absolute pain to clean filter but otherwise great kit.
Got one fills up quite quickly and loves to get loads of hair in the bristles but other than that good hoover
just dry... anyone got one of these, the last time they were on offer?....how u finding it?
Had one very similar to this, and had to pull the skin off my own rice pudding.
Is it wet and dry?
Apologies, should have stated, battery and charger included. Bare unit is £61.38.
The 9.6v can be found for £2
Sadly we found the battery life is dire on this. We bought it for the caravan but it barely lasts enough to have a quick Hoover about. Maybe it's just ours? I'd probably buy an Aldi one currently available for half the price and 3years warranty.
Not the cheapest its been from them. Bought mine in February this year for £25 on a half price offer. Takes 16 hours to charge for about 30 minutes of use.
If you've only got that garbage trickle charger then this is definitely worth getting (y)
£12.50 more and you get a drill too? https://www.studio.co.uk/shop/en/studio/black—decker-18v-li-ion-drill?source=TK1Q&cssoc=047&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI6YGz3IW82wIVQlXTCh278QpTEAQYASABEgK0nfD_BwE
Yes, mine was delivered to store during the week and I picked it up yesterday. It is actually the updated livery I got (I.e Orange and black without the 'lithium batterytech' writing). Tested and working fine.
Did these turn up? Mine seems to be stuck in limbo somewhere - dispatched several days ago but not arrived at store.
It's a very good deal considering the batteries usually cost 2/3rds the price of a new drill.
Fair enough - I apologise. (highfive) I did order one, on the basis that it can go back if it's not right.
My drill was a sealed black and decker combi drill in it's case. I can confirm that my current one is 1.5A and has a b&d sticker on the bottom. It may not be on the website as it is the old version, superseded by the orange and black coloured one which has the same part number: BL1518
this is what I needed! Wish I saw this when it was £40! I will just have to continue manually raking it in! booo lol
No longer available at £40 :( Great find though!!
Your not wrong, I was totally amazed at how much crap it pulled out of my lawn, it took two trips to the tip to get rid of it all. Followed up with a good grass feed and 3 weeks later the lawn looked fantastic.
Out of stock from Tesco Direct, at £40. Still available at other sellers for almost double.
The link goes to one sold by Power tools direct. Only items sold by Tesco Direct are being reduced, not other sellers. That aside, are we now going to see a post for every item that Tesco are doing? We have already had a few this morning. I just followed the first link to see what else they had. Some good deals to be fair.
I have the lithium Ion gardenline pole trimmer from Aldi and it's superb.
Anyone know if Ryobi batteries are compatible with Black and Decker equipment?
Tesco link says 'This pole hedge trimmer has an 1800-2350mm adjusting length ranger' For comparisson with other pole hedge trimmers Tesco's is 400W for £30. On Aldi's website theirs is 1010W for £59.99. Toolstation sell a 900W Einhell trimmer for £93.96. Screwfix have a 550W MacAllister trimmer for £59.99.
Are the black and decker hedge trimmers any good does anyone know. No reviews for them.
I've got one of these and it's great for the car and I often use it for a quick carpet clean around the skirting boards at home too. Maybe the other poster had a duff one
I bought this model (18v lithium) a few years ago and found it totally useless for the car, let alone for quick jobs round thr house (thought it would have been better for £80 and had some good reviews. I tried it several times with checking I had no blockages etc with no luck. Not sure if I had a dodgy one, but was not impressed. I know it's a lot more money, but got the Dyson V8 with all the attachments recently and love it. I would save a little more for the Dyson to use for the car and around the house as I felt this a waste of money.
I paid £44 on Amazon warehouse promotion last year, it's a good vacuum but I would pay more than what we paid
Great machine for cleaning the car and around the house. Very good reviews and doesn't seem to get this low priced very often
Assuming it’s the full width of the door then whilst it’ll do it’ it’ll take a bit of time and effort, you are also likely to use quite a few sanding sheets - in short yes it will do it but you’d be better off using a planer and using the sander to give a smooth finish.
This any good to shave a couple of mm of the bottom of a door
Should have voted hot caught the wrong one with my clumsy thumb ;( ;(
If you wanna take my comment seriously feel free
Danny that is fraudulent, stingy and immoral behavior that drives up the cost of shopping for everyone else as does theft.
10% cashback at halifax rewards.
If this is anything like it's predecessor I'd avoid it like the plague, that was the worst drill I've ever used.
The one from Studio is not a hammer drill.
I have an old B&D 18V cordless hammer drill bought around the same time. Looks like the picture. Bought the drill above as my old charger has broken. It arrived yesterday, and the batteries/ charger are interchangeable between the two :)
Very similar to the one I got from aldi. These are more than adequate for many a job. And can't complain at the price What are the batteries interchangeable with?
I wouldn't use it on concrete Brick could be okay
Yes. Yes one bit ph2 and one flat
Can this drill be used to do flap pack furniture? Does it comes with the drill bits?
Over priced even at 30 quid,A garbage range of power tools, Using the word 'Power', Very lightly.
I wouldnt recommend the mouse Sander. I got one from asda for £15 at clearance but it fell to bits after 3 days of use.
The mouse sander shows up on the ASDA groceries app.
This is what I read over and over again in the reviews. This just cannot be ignored and now has me steering clear of black and decker battery strummers. I’m now left wondering what the best battery powered option is, with similar specifications or better, at around this price.
I've had two and both bearings in the cutting head went. The first after 3 months, the second after 12 months. Not robust enough for brushcutting. And it took 4 months to get the first one repaired at the black and decker authorised repair shop!
Seems to have build quality and reliability issues, which is a shame.
Wish they would reduce the price of its little brother to about £80-90 then I’d bite.
These are so handy bought one 4 years ago
Ditto the folks above - got mine for £90 on Amazon just under a year ago. Very good strimmer, powerful and the battery life has never been an issue in my suburban garden.
It was £89 on Amazon a couple of weeks ago and posted on HUKD - I bought then. It doesn't drop that low very often according to camelcamelcamel. Amazon may well match or beat the Very price shortly - they have been charging around £140 over the last few days. I'm really pleased with mine - use it on the allotment - battery lasts around 40 mins on the eco-setting. Definitely worth £89 (I installed the Amazon toolbar for an extra fiver off) I'd hold out for a lower price than £109.99
It was an Amazon deal of the day I think. Camel camel should show how often it dips but not in a position to look at the mo.
Yeah agreed, but best price at the moment. I will hang on to hopefully the price you paid!
Very good but a bit dear at this price. I paid £89 last year.
Got the manual one from Lidl for £14.99. Bl**dy hard work that.
Used this today for the first time. Wow, totally amazed at how much rubbish came out the grass. I didn’t even think it looked that bad, lawn is already looking so much healthier. Well worth the money and so easy to use. It’s kinda addictive, I wanna do my neighbours! (lol) Will add grass seed and soil on top over the coming days, but excited to see where I’ll be in a few weeks/months.
They also use different attachments for raking and scarifying (embarrassed) scarifying uses metal blades whilst raking is like metal wires
In that case, your original post is incorrect. This unit has 3 different height settings that will rake through the grass, down to soil level, or even into the soil.... So on your definition, this is a rake and a scarifier (y) .
I'm not a massive expert but from what I can see raking is basically raking the surface of the grass of loose debris, whilst scarifying goes deeper and digs out the dead grass layer and/or moss
