By 100mm he means one and a half inches...if you get my drift.

Oneday77

20seconds would certainly be going some. Maybe if it was a dry log on a level steady platform. A wet branch up a tree, less believable. I’d not use a chainsaw, due to lack of familiarity and safety. I do however use a hand saw when pruning my tree, where my telescopic lopper is too unwieldy.

sunama

No way can you cut a 10cm branch in 20 seconds. And, given your testosterone level, only a petrol fuelled chainsaw (with a hockey mask) would be able to satisfy you.

hielliot

I cooked dinner earlier. It only took me about 20 seconds to start the firepit by rubbing two sticks together. It only took me about 20 seconds to get off the sofa to change the channel on the front of the TV In the time it took you to turn on your computer and send an email i had already finished writing my letter. Ill post it tomorrow. Its called progress.

odom

If you can cut a 100mm branch in twenty seconds then I'd call Guinness World Records. I do think this tool is stupid though because it is so limiting. You would seemingly only need one if you cut lots of branches but are certain none of them will be over 100mm. Unless you are incapable of following basic safety instructions (basically, "keep your body out of the line of the chain") a chainsaw will be a more useful tool or a bow saw will be a more sensible tool. I used to know a tree surgeon who was very insistent that a sharp hand saw was as essential as a chain saw. He never asked for one of these though (:I

louiselouise

This didn't get hot at all when I posted it for £3 more, but if you read reviews and are put off by the grumbles that it doesn't have a floor mop - you can get a floor mop version of this, my sister just bought one!

We had one of these and found it was terrible and sent it straight back. Utterly lacking in suction, meaning you had to go over the same spot over and over.

Malachi_X

Yeah, replaced mine with a Dyson too - no comparison.

supersinky2008

I had one of these. Not much power for the likes of small stones ion the car mats, and the charge doesn't last long. Also it broke and had to be replaced by B&D under its 2 year warranty. Now replaced by a much better digital Dyson - more expensive though, but does a great job of the car and around the house.

mikefrom82

I've got like this one but 18V and it's great !

Big_Rik

Is this any use? Is there much suction in it for small stones, grit etc in car?

I rate the Bosch. But I have a big wired one for heavy duty stuff. My issue with this B&D was the drill bit kept slipping. I had to keep tightening it with vice grips

You would have to be off your nut to wast 25 quid on this, And it would be a wast, £28.45p with prime, Better in every way for an extra £3.46. Not much better, If at all, Than there very first rechargable drill, It may have been Ni-cad and not Lithium-ion, But it was 2 speed.

Weak sauce. Looks like a toy.

johnnystorm

It's actually a really handy piece of kit. Perfect if all you need to do is assemble flat pack furniture, birdtables, crafting, other light DIY etc. Nice compact and light for getting into small spaces. The USB charging is excellent as I hate all my other tools having different, proprietary chargers.

KentishLad

At 19.99 from Home Hardware this is OK, but the product itself looks cheap & nasty - what’s happened to Black & Decker?

michaeljb

Cold, you'll want a minimum of this for general diy. I actually had a contractor turn to work on my property and try to use a hilti drill, as you can imagine i kicked his unprofessional ass to the curb, the nerve of some people.

LankyChris

The price has now gone up from Amazon as seller to £24.99 but is available cheaper from other sellers including a dodgy looking Chinese one for £14.99. How would this compare with the Aldi one currently in store at £19.99: https://www.aldi.co.uk/workzone-220w-multi-sander/p/078469216369400 Or the Ozito one from Homebase for £10: https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/ozito-180w-detail-sander-with-20-sanding-sheets-10-homebase-3043695 Both the above have 3 year warranty but is there anything the B&D one does that these don't?

lemo

Hi. I have one of these and yes it vibrates like crazy and is therefore uncomfortable to use but I have used it quite a lot for sanding multiple sets of alloy wheels before repainting and for stripping paint off wooden doors. Mine doesn't get warm at all even after hours of constant use. I feel like I have had more than £20 service out of mine.

Broc_Mudflap

Thanks, and you. All the best. (y)

You should never use a chainsaw up a ladder. If you need to work at height it's either a platform or ropes, and if you're doing aerial work do the training.

fubar888

Agree that chainsaw trousers should have prevented that accident. I would disagree though that there are plenty of competent professionals who use a chainsaw up a ladder/tree without issue. I’m normally one for having a go at anything but you certainly wouldn’t catch me using a chainsaw anywhere other than cutting logs on a suitable saw horse.

edgeone

Chainsaws are not dangerous - just plenty of idiots who do not know how to use them safely and do not use the correct protective clothing. I don't believe you can buy a top-handled chainsaw without a competence certificate.Your nephew-in-law probably would have been unharmed if he had a pair of good chainsaw trousers on. You would have to be a complete numpty to use a chainsaw up a ladder.

moremoney4beer

I have their 18V pole saw which cuts through 7in + limbs just by resting the saw from 10ft below. This Chainsaw has an average of 4 stars out of 5 in customer ratings.

b1gphilip

I have the 36v version of this saw, and its great for logs and tree branches, i've also used it to cut garden sleepers for raised beds. its coped well with everything I've asked it to do, So if the 18v is half as good as the 36v it should be fine for small jobs, unlike their pole hedge trimmer (poo) but that's another story......

Looking at reviews, it seems this doesn't come with tools, so it could be an addition to a steam cleaner set where you can't reach with a floor mop or its tools. Are these any good? I bought a pump one but it would chuck so much paint on you still had to go over it with a brush to get rid of the runs, I gave up in the end.
