This is the one that was (and possibly still is) in Lidl for £39.99 37nm torque 1 battery With charger Bought it. Nothing special, but does as intended, and the specs match the price

sheffield788

This is a good price, shame is OOS.

rhexenor

Delivery is £5 as originally given in the post.

rhexenor

Because for less than 5 minutes of my time possibly 2 people have grabbed a bargain as a result and if there is store stock anywhere others may be looking out for it as a result. Sorry if I wasted 2 minutes of your precious time, but it won't stop me doing so again. If I know I'm visiting a particular store I try to remember to look at HUKD to see if there may be anything worth having, if people don't post I won't know.

Good find OP, the price is a fair reduction. Much better and more powerful than the cordless type, where costly battery replacements are a high cost for the cordless convenience. If anyone is looking for info on how this model runs, here's the Which review, summarised on their site: "What's it great at? In our tests, this strimmer got through all the jobs we tried in good time. It tore through long grass and tough weeds, largely thanks to the heavy-duty line, which made short work of the vegetation. More impressively, we completed all the long grass and tough weeds tests, which we repeat three times, without having to replace the line. It's easy to clip this single-use line into place and to replace when the line eventually wears down. The ordinary line only broke twice in our line-break test and we didn't have any problems feeding out more line using the automatic line feed. This feeds out more line when you start the strimmer. We found the strimmer well-balanced and comfortable to use. The weight isn't all at the end of shaft so you can hold it without straining, unlike some strimmers. Is there anything I should watch out for? It isn't an ideal lawn edger. There's a large guide wheel to take the weight of the strimmer and help you steer the right course, but you can't easily see past the head to where you're cutting, making the job much slower and less neat. Is there anything else I should know? We've marked this strimmer as a general-purpose grass trimmer as we think most people will want to carry out a range of jobs with it, from edging the lawn to cutting down tough weeds. It achieved a good score for this, a few points off being a Best Buy. It also did well when judged as a heavy-duty strimmer with a score of 64%, although as a lawn edger it only managed 65%, well short of Best Buy status. In our tests this strimmer was good for a range of tasks, from edging the lawn, tidying areas the mower can't reach and for cutting long grass and weeds, so we've shown its score as a general-purpose grass trimmer."

Thanks. Different product unless they changed the stock over the past few days. I picked up that one 2 weeks ago but put it back on the shelf. I've even posted the deal here and was taken off, as HUKD does not allow in store deals if the item is not essential. That one does not have the hammer action. That is £40 at Wilko too. The reason I posted this was because of hammer action.

Heat added. Lidl - Northern Ireland are selling this for £39.99, on the shelves today with a whole lot of other stuff

xenophon

Bought exactly the same model last year. Good little thing. But got it in a sale at £39.99.

sheffield788

Voted hot! May look expensive, but it is 18v and will do the job. The otger ones are too weak, pay £30-40 and dont get anything out of it. This are £70-80 usually, so not bad. Paid about £50 for mine but kept an eye on it for about a year to get it at that price.

psychobitchfromhell

that's the 10v one which is weaker than water. This one is the cats pyjamas. Way stronger

davejb

i doubt it was this specific model. the 10v is normally around that price. there are several that look exactly the same but they have different batterys... theres a 10v, 14v and 18v. the weaker ones arent all that great but the 18v one is pretty good. ive had one for many years and its comparable to a regular vacuum cleaner in power. great for a quick clean up after the kids or doing the car. i paid nearly £100 for it back then and that was on offer. they still go for £80 normally..

Completely different tool, that little power pruner does not come close to what the B&D lopper does.

kabs

Stihl have the gta 26 out, light, one handed use, about 1 and a half hr to charge and not much more than this. As with all battery tools you would really want 2. Quite a few demo vids on youtube.

KingBurger

Nope, it can make it less powerful as well as it limits the load of the motor. Plenty of YouTube videos and tests out there if you need proof.

Besford

B&D pretty rubbish these days (trading on a famous name) and an 18v/2Ah battery powered one of these will be neither powerful nor last very long on a charge.

GST11

Ah affects how long it will last, voltage will affect the power of it. Will still definitely be less useful than mains though

louiselouise

Had some amazing bargains from Groupon lately (yes, I know they're getting rid of their Goods section sometime later this year). The £8-odd Sonicare with four heads and travel case, the Penguin polo long sleeved top for around £6 (I think), the Adidas leisure trousers (or "jobby catchers" as some wag called them at the time) for £5-odd. Received some large jar Yankee Candles (not Simply Home variety) today that worked out at about £5 each. Be aware the 20% code WELCOME is for first time customers only, so won't apply to everyone. GET10 might still allow you to take 7% off, even though it's expired now. Though there's a new one I can see mentioned on other threads recently - SPRING for 10% off.

Thermal imaging cameras can be pricey, I've seen somewhere a plug in module for phones that is cheaper. We bought a camera for establishing localised temperature in electronic assembly's and it has proven useful to find areas of our roof that needed more insulation.

Voting DOWN with a very big NO because... my Amazon special deal on one of these borderline set light to itself. So, a combination of the power controller and the current delivery from that battery (certainly on mine) did not play well together. I noticed, from day one that under high torque load that the motor would cut out. That's fine - I understand that it's protecting itself from self-damage. But... under very light load it seems that even subtle usage would get more and more problematic. I guess after no more than 3-4 hrs use (so maybe half a dozen charge cycles?) then things rapidly went south. I arrived at the point where just running it at full throttle would give me variable speed, a miserable torque... and then the odious smell of 1970's Scalextric and then full on shrimp ramen odour.... followed by pungent whisps of voluminous smoke. I stopped then before flames arrived. called amazon, swapped it out, sending the ramen-whiff burned drill back, kept the original battery.

The bit sets with any drill are cheap nasty things that usually cause more problems
