They are both manufactured by a Chinese company called Huami. However, they have both been sold under another Chinese Company's branding, Xiaomi. Confused much? I really appreciate this, thank you for taking the time to post. Will get one ordered now.

So far at work today, and recording my 30 minute cycle with gps this morning, it's dropped from 75% to 67%. I did have continuous heart rate on but that resulted in charging every 3 - 4 days. I don't need it other than for interest when I'm cycling so I switched t off. It's got a decent vibration for alarm as well which means I can be woken without disturbing my wife and baby... Cost me £68 when on offer (highlighted by HUKD of course!). It's got all sorts of sport tracking as well as step counters and various reminders etc.Of course, people may prefer the security of buying western brands so it's worth looking into it a bit and seeing what you want it for. I'm a convert to the budget Chinese tech personally (I also have a xiaomi redmi 4 pro which is everything I want from a phone at £130!).

Hi all, for anyone who missed the recent £89.99 deals (like me 🙄) these have just come down in price from £119 in Argos Hope it helps Cheers
Bought a Fitbit charge 2 the other week and really impressed.
Bought a Milanese Stainless steel strap off eBay for £7 and prefer it the the original strap. It is dressier and comfier.
Also tried a Garmin but wanted something that looked smarter that I could wear all the time.

Bought mine from argos

Working absolutely fine. No issues at all.

Steps tracking is fairly accurate
Syncing with galaxy s8 takes about 5 seconds.

Overall i am very pleased. My only gripe is wearing it at night is a bit of a disfomfort as i am not used to wearing watch at night while sleep.

I have had it for 3 days and i drove too and didnt notice the additional steps added. Might be worth getting another pair as yours might be faulty.

I will keep an eye on it but so far i am very happy. If you wana be more accurate get a chest strap and not a wrist band.

Personally i use it to gauge some indication of my activity. Messages come through fine too but i use another app for that called "fit notifications" works like a dream. Google fit notifications.

Hope it helps
anyone know if this or the blaze is better? I know of the price difference so I suspect the blaze has more functions; feel just not sure if they are needed or make it better.

Going up in price again was probably leaning more toward the Samsung gear s3. Is it notably better than the charge and blaze ? Appreciate any help/subjective opinions. Price tag doesn't always mean better hence the questions as to which does the job best. Thanks

I was very unhappy with the tracking side of things constantly adding steps for no reason. The final nail in the coffin was the 3k steps it added while traveling in the car to London fitbits advice was to take it off while your driving and charge it or download a app that you activate when driving and it removes the steps etc to much hassle compared to others you can buy. Maybe mine was faulty but looking at the reviews it’s a very common issue with this model

I got one for Xmas but I'm not sure to be honest. First day it tracked 22000 steps when I barely moved my ass all day. I reset it but it's still over counting my steps (not as bad as 22k though). I may also return - I'm convinced it's faulty. Also takes ages to sync and even with Bluetooth on all day the text/phone notifications don't go to it! (I've ckecked all my settings on the fitbit app too and they are correct). So far I'm disappointed. Last year I bought a cheap xoiami one and although it only lasted six months it was very accurate.

Counting steps always going to be not 100% accurate, I think they have some suggestions on there site like it shouldn't be too loose and that.... but to be honest I am not big fan of these things monitoring me all of the time

I'd advise anyone considering this to check Fitbit's list of compatible phones first and not make the assumption I foolishly did of "they must support this - it's just Bluetooth" I've come to the conclusion there is Bluetooth and then there is Fitbit's implementation of Bluetooth...

Same with the Withings Activity range of devices. There's a ruck load of manufactures devices that aren't compatible with Huwawei and various other androids.

Everyone told to eat, drink and be merry right up until Christmas and then told immediately after to get fit and lose weight. Everyone joins a gym or goes running with their new Fitbit in the new year, loses a bit of weight and then claims it's the new them The evenings start to get lighter, people lose interest and it all goes out the window. Ive tried for the last 2 hours to get it working!!!

Xiaomi phones have aggressive ram management settings by default and this can stop you getting notifications because the apps are killed in the background.

This video should show you how to stop this from happening

Fitbit Blaze and Fitbit Charge 2 work with the sensors on your nearby phone to track GPS data (known as "connected" GPS).

Fitbit Ionic and Fitbit Surge have built-in GPS.

I think £89.99 is an excellent price for the Charge2. As well as the info available on your Fitbit, it's the Fitbit app on your phone and also accessible from your PC that sets it apart from the competitors in my opinion. I've owned other brands in the past.

Here's how I got my charge 2: On eBay there is a reseller / resellers who are offering "fit bit tracker only", no strap, no box, no charger. So I thought I'd buy that for £55 and get a third party strap and charger for pennies. So I did, and a full, unopened package came through the door, sent from Amsterdam by a courier company that ships exclusively for Fitbit and go pro. I think Fitbit are selling these full packages through a secondary revenue stream. It seems weird but other people commented that they received theirs the same way, I.e an unopened full retail Fitbit charge 2. I don't know the internal reasons, excessive stock possibly, but I'm certain this is the actual Fitbit company doing this, it isn't a hooky back of a lorry job. It had a returns label inside etc. Quite strange.

No such luck in the Nottingham store :-(
Firstly Fitbit customer services are first class and replaced my original Fitbit without any complaint as the rubber was coming away from the unit.
Secondly this is the Charge 2 which has addressed the previous manufacturing floor by being of better build quality and providing the option to change the strap should you wish to wear a different colour or a fault develop.

samsung gear fit 2 or this?

Gear fit is so better. It is dust and waterproof and has gps. Plus works with iPhone
expired.
it was a bank holiday deal that ended Monday.
Back to 119.99 now.
No longer available for delivery and you can't use the code on click and collect.
I'm still on my first Charge HR which I've had for over two years now. The top rubber face of the strap has just started to bubble within the last 2 weeks, so it hasn't done too badly I guess. I might have to upgrade to the Charge 2 soon I think!
Ordered this as upgrade to my blaze as thought it had built in GPS, turns out it doesn't and I can't return it.

If anyone missed this and wants a blue large one hit me up!
