The time when smartphones specialised in grimy, grainy photographs are long gone. Equipped with 4 rear cameras, the Huawei P30 Pro will be the answer to phone photographers' prayers. Anyone who wants a premium phone and high-end camera in one (whether it be sim free or on a contract) can pick up a P30 Pro for less at hotukdeals.

Hi what would a recommendation be for a replacement for a p30 pro
Griffinpark1982

Another P30 pro, there's no other phone like it!

I'm in the same boat, I've been waiting to see what price the mi 11 ultra would be priced at and then ultimately disappointed with. I have been similarly disappointed with the reviews and the specs of the OnePlus 9 pro and oppo find x3 pro. In the end I've decided to get the s21 ultra 5g as it has good zoom, ip68 and good battery life.

To cut a long story short my P30 pro needs to be replaced. I have come from a P20 Pro and love my P30 Pro, any decent alternatives? Or worth getting another. Thanks for your help… Read more

Mate 20 X - about £300 second hand. If your budget is not quite that restricted - as Bigspin says the Oppo Find X3 Pro is hard to beat. Mine cost £700 on ebay brand new.

Bigspin

They going for around £750 @ gumtree /850 ebay. I'm trying to sell my wife's phone as she asked me to buy small phone.

Thanks. They seem to be about a grand :/

I went from P30 Pro to Find X3 Pro. No regrets.

Google pixel v Huawei p30 pro v Mi 10t v One plus 8t
I have a P30 but the GPS has stopped working and so am looking at a new phone. I want a good camera and then it's used for calls and Internet, not so much for gaming. What should … Read more

I am not saying P30 pro camera not good, but the consideration is how many year of support in future.

If you only want it for camera, phones and internet just get the P40 Pro from CEX. I think it's around £380 at CEX, but you can buy CEX vouchers at 80% value, making it around £320. You won't have access to Google services, unless side loading or using a virtual OS, but it doesn't sound like you need it. The Google Pixel has tiny storage and almost unusable without some cloud storage. They don't have expandable memory. The P30 Pro still has one of the best cameras around.

Old, yes, but there are almost no phones that can beat it at £3-400 level. My P30 Pro will be 2 years old in a few months and I still easily get more than a day from the battery. Software update is from February, although it may not get Android 11.

Redissue69

I know but I've read that the camera is still one of the best around

P30 pro a bit old.

Huawei p30 pro case and screen protector
Hi All My p20 pro gave up the ghost (well I dropped it) so I've bought a p30 pro as I didn't feel techy enough to try and side load Google apps and I use G Pay all the time. Anyw… Read more

I agree. The glass ones are terrible and rarely stay flush.

The p30 pro comes with a gel protector applied (unsure if you've received your phone yet). For cases depends if you want a case, or one with a metal ring on the back (for sat nav and propping up the phone etc). I got this off Amazon for like £11.

MrSprkle

curved screen so a wet application protector is good for stoping scratches, the glass protectors i used i found were very difficult to apply and the never stayed on proper. but get something as I went naked for a few months and my screen is full of scratches now. Im using a spiegen case..

Antsaves

Case grab a ‘Spigen’ one they do a few models for the p30. Screen protector grab a cheap unbranded one off eBay.

P30 Pro New Edition
Hi all. Does anyone have the P30 Pro new edition? Thinking of upgrading to one? Any thoughts or info appreciated 🙏
bozo007

I have the P30 Pro original version. Very happy with it in the 18 months I have been using it. Great photos, great battery life. The P30 series is the last one with full Google support. Latest security update I got is from November, so hardly a lack of updates. However, the status of an update to Android 11 is as yet unknown. I plan to use this phone as long as it lasts, so hopefully, at least another couple of years.

I would suggest looking at the prices on CEX before doing anything. Typically you can buy CEX vouchers for 80-85% of their value. I got my P40 for around £210. It was listed as 'b' grade but was almost brand new. The P40 is £380 I believe, but with vouchers around £310-320.

I personally would avoid Huawei mobile due to the unknown situation with US. Future support or updates could be questionable.

P30 pro
the P30 pro, are there any phones in this bracket that would be an alternative or it the p30 the one to go for...
alictait

Been really impressed with the p30 pro as well since I bought it, only consideration in moving forward from it will be 5g. Won’t affect me anytime soon though.

bozo007

What exactly are you looking for? For me, I needed dual SIM, great camera and good battery life. And the P30 Pro hasn't disappointed me in the 16 months I have been using it.

Munch1981

I think oppo phones could be similar with good camera.
