Thanks. A bit pathetic that they don't tell you this important information, but then Toolstation omits it from the description of their PIR sensor too - and the comments say it doesn't!

Does this latch on if you switch it on, off and on again rapidly? Thanks.

The 30W version does, so it's likely this one does as well.

Any ideas on the detection distance, I was looking at the pro electronic one recently which is 12 m . But over 50 quid. I'm guessing this one isn't as far.

doesn't say how many lumens... does anyone know?

they have not mentioned at all. I got the suspicion that is not very efficient but for as bad as it can be I think no less than 3400L. Anyway, they are better than the standard 500w halogen and the very efficient one can reach over 3800. What does worry me is actually the 6000k, it is very cold

From personal and professional experience there is a massive difference in ingress protection (IP) and cost between IP44 and IP67. While IP44 might not be sufficient for all IP67 is overkill. IP68 is submersible protection so unless you are spongebob or ratty IP54/55/56 will suffice. No need to go to the expense of IP67.
It still amazes me how few manufacturers are making outside LED lights that are vaguely nice and also affordable. I know Phillips make a few. This seems quite nice.

The IP44 rating is also a concern with our typically wet weather, as that rating is the minimum requirement for exeterior lights. Shame.

It depends on were you place it, if that wall its fitted on gets the prevailing winds then that rating maybe liable to fail.

Does it come with a mounting bracket?

Yes, bracket included. I was tempted to cancel and go with Richiano recommendation, and although I know I would have been happy doing that, having received the item, I am happy too.

It is slimline and tiny, it has a die-cast base with large fins at the back for heat dissipation, I tested the earth wire and it is connected, the connecting lead is only about 20 cm though. Apart from not having a fancy microwave PIR for the price you cannot complain, very bright easily equivalent to the old style 300 watt floodlamps.

Looks like they have some of the non-PIR 30W version back in stock

They have run out of 30W floodlights (with and without PIR) so I have expired this deal.
They still have plenty of 10W floodlights for £10, but these aren't great.
I've got through a few pir lights, most of them only IP44 rated, but I never had one fail due to water ingress, probably because the lights were pointed downwards so all the points where they might leak, like the seal around the glass and the adjustment screws were located at the bottom so if they were to leak any rain in, the water could run straight back out.

I did have one once that I bought from either screwfix or B&Q (can't remember which), where the aluminium of the case rapidly disintegrated and the front fell off.

how good are led floodlights compared to the traditional bulb type?

The 30W led has 2100 Lumens which I believe is equivalent to a 120W Halogen light
The 10W LED has 700 lumens which would be good enough for an alleyway or pointing straight down at a patio or something similar.
good thing i read the comments before buying!
