Avoid. So frustrated with the G4 ghost touching, the phone is now bent..
Note that used deals may not always be perfect, e.g. a standard charger rather than the stated turbopower one. A chat with support should fix any issues.

This phone has a serious problem with ghost touching (when the phone reacts as though it has been rapidly touched even though there is no contact) which causes it to open/close apps, make calls, send texts without your knowledge. Also it cant be used for the same reason when charging. After buying a Moto G3 16Gb from the warehouse (and twice being sent 8GB versions instead of advertised 16GB) I decided to try the Moto G4 and finally the Moto G4 Plus from the warehouse and had to return both as they suffered from the Ghost Touch problem which is widespread on this phone. Decided to buy a new one instead. Only showed problem when charging so decided to keep it. Ghost touching became evident in everyday use after a few weeks and then became chronic after 3 months when it decided to ring 999 whilst I was looking at my phone and was totally unresponsive to any attempt to end call. Had to explain to emergency operator that my phone had made the call of it's own accord. Amazon at first said I should send it away for repair (3 weeks ish) and Lenovo would fix the well know problem. I argued and was offered a new replacement that apparently had the ghost touching issued resolved. Got it the next day. Unusable when charging again. Apart from that it is a nice phone but I would seriously not recommend it to anyone because of this problem.

I can't agree more with you, I have this phone and this ghost touch is horrible, it's uncountable the amount of time it's texted and called people without me being able to abort the operation.

13mp vs 12?

Surely the myth that more pixels is better has been dispelled by now? It simply is not the case, surely you know that? The Spark X camera has an aperture of f/2.8, generally f/2.0 is the standard for budget cameras now (pretty certain the 13mp on the standard G5 is for f/2.0 for example), f/2.8 is really poor. The G4 Plus came in with a score of 84 on DXOMark, a *very* respectable result (oh and it has 16MP, the even more excellent G5 Plus camera has 12MP) compared to the all-time top score of 90.

You get 24 months warranty on electronic goods which includes mobiles phones under EU consumer law. You actually get longer under our own consumer law. You have to prove that the fault was a manufacturing defect which is not that difficult to do seeing as LG actually admitted it in this case. If you buy your phone from an airtime supplier under a 24 month contract you will find they will also take action on your behalf. None of the carriers I have been with have offered less than 24 months and they can't refuse to do anything about it unless you have abused the phone. So if you crack the screen but it still works, and then the motherboard fails, they will tell you to get stuffed as you should have taken more care of your phone. However, if you take care of it and fails they have to give you some options after 12 months. If they don't they are breaking EU and UK law. Bear in mind that LG don't sell phones direct to the general public so your contract is whoever you buy the phone from as that is who your contract is with. Not the manufacturer. Take note that if you buy a phone from ebay from a private seller you may have no warranty at all as some manufacturers state warranty is to first user only.
Just to add to the conversation regarding bootloops. I've seen people talk about them for the last 13 months of owning my LG G4, 2 colleagues have had bootloop issues with them within the last 13 months (One was repaired free by LG but took a few weeks, the other was replaced with a G5 under his separate insurance) ...there was me feeling all smug that mine was fine. Literally a few weeks outside the 12 month warranty and its now bootlooping! Lost faith in LG for an issue to be so widespread (I know its a small sample, but 3 out of 3 is pretty bad!), which is a shame as I loved the LG G2 (what I'm using again now) and the LG G4.

Fortunately Amazon have agreed to refund me so have sent it back.

Does seem a bit pricey. Got mine on a Three contract 13 months ago and is due to be sent back in the next few days. Love the phone and had hoped that the bootloop would never happen to me but died on me last week. Hope to get more good use out of it once repaired.
I still have a G2 which is still hanging on in there too - another cracking phone.
My g4 replaced this week under warranty. took a week for whole processed. but deal price is high as i bought g4 15 months ago for £230 from vodaphone.
You would have to be literally nuts to buy this phone at this price. It's two generations old for starters and that is before we go into the reliability issues. I bought my G4 from ebuyer 15 months ago for £269 so it's well overpriced at £249. Mine has been back to LG three times all for camera related issues. It's a great phone when it works but this model is hopelessly unreliable. For the price point of £270 I would look out for the next big Motorola offer (not that they are hyper reliable either).
had mine since release never had the boot loop issue, however did manage to wipe out half the screen whilst using it in a waterproof case whilst canoeing for a week. got it replaced been fine ever since. I struggle to find a phone with comparable camera, storage expansion slot and replaceable battery.
got mine from German Amazon and got a two year warranty. needed it to because of the bootloop issue. LG FIXED it straight away to be fair

The only person I know of who managed to get a refund did so by instigating court action. In my case I had 2 failed repairs and they then wanted to give me a reconditioned phone - and made it sound as though they were doing me a favour!

I found out later that after the first failed repair I was legally entitled to a refund.

Neither do I, I am totally stumped.

I think because people have the 2GB G5 O2 deal in their sights, and instinctively think that the G5 MUST be better than the G4 because it is a newer model. You can see it in the other G4 deal (Tesco Direct) with posts such as “only £10 more for G5”. Yet take a look at the specs and you can understand why the G4 is selling at pretty much the same price as the G5, and why the G5 is hardly an “upgraded” version of the G4, and is in some ways a downgrade (namely the screen and battery).

5.7" 720p!! The proper G4 has a 1440p screen even though it's smaller.
A vastly inferior phone to the proper G4, I would expect that to be this price by now as it's almost two generations old.
