Debenhams 50% of lighting
Sturdiness

Once, many years ago, Debenhams sold lights that suited the consumer needs of form and function. Now they just look like tat.

dkl_uk

Yep. The sale should be called "Slightly better pricing for overpriced lighting".

EmperorJackson

Just had a look through, understand why it’s 50% off (lol) likely a deal for someone though!

The shop has been going downhill for years now, shame for the staff but it’s going the way of so many other great British stores and might not last much longer

Shwartzewolf

Some John Lewis stores will never reopen as staff bonus faces the chop. Up to 19 of the chain's 51 department stores may stay closed permanently. Shocking really... we are just at the start of a whole load of pain...

unwired

This has been on sale for a couple of weeks now. I guess not many want it.

Will be good quality but it’s a bit meh

Woof.Woof

This is absolute S**t it broke with 1 minute of unboxing. The base is quite heavy and the light itself is vey light. It has a weak spot when the two meet (the plastic connecting lug literally broke with 10 seconds of it being put together). Collected today .. going back tomorrow a.m. ... Absolute Rubbish ... best avoided

I did buy these in the end, plus bulbs from amazon, seems to work very nicely base is a little bit curved oddly enough, I'll have to be careful not flail them over with my clumsiness!

BenWootton-e69b9.96461

I have a pair and they dim with right bulbs. If you shop around they are cheap enough but I'd aim for golf ball size ones

Jay_Bizz

Thanks, seen these for 20 elsewhere and my bedroom is now finished with this purchase. Heat added

Anyone know where the cord runs to? Is it the foot and then inside or straight to the light fitting?

bhav56

The one in Argos is slightly shorter (46cm v 55cm) plus it doesn't come with a bulb, and is 2 year warranty vs 3 years from Aldi. I guess with the comparisons, the prices kind of reflect each other.

liamions

Pretty sure these are £15 in Argos, not sure on size difference though.

I have two of these lamps. And other than my father accidentally switching them on they work fine. You have 3 levels of intensity and on it's brightest setting the room is well lit. There is also a colour cycling mode. But when set to this the lamp isn't very bright. I have no issue with these lamps other than the fact is that when the LED goes there is no way to replace it.

dooper

This is a mains powered lamp. Not rechargeable. Definitely bright enough to use as a reading lamp on it’s brightest setting. I paid £33 for it over a year ago, which I still consider reasonable. Very pleased with it.

sheffield788

There is nothing special about these. While I like Aukey, this is just a simple lamp, I've paid half the price for a different brand, delivered from China. It does the job, but very simple lamp, made of plastic. You need to press about 5 times to switch it off, as it goes to all different modes before switching off. OK product for my kids room, nothing fancy to put on your bedside table. Also, not bright enough to have it on when reading, at least mine are not strong enough. I use them for my kids room, on all night long as they don't like dark in the room. Lasts ages before needing recharging, but I do have a small power bank attached to them, just as back up. Good product, but my personal opinion is this is not cheap for what it is. Not voting.

Master_Yoda

Also - these seem very expensive given they're made of cheap transparent plastic - my Philips ones from years ago are made of glass

I’ve always had bad experience of buying from Debenhams online, and with the current situation and it’s owners track record with house of Fraser, I don’t trust it. Make sure you buy on credit card to cover yourself

DonDraper

Junk is a bit harsh but it's certainly expensive for this kind of lamp.

manbearpig

Very expensive for Debenhams junk. Surprised they are still in business
