The Simpsons: Personal Water Dispenser With Ice Cooler £7.99 and in the 3 for 2 offer @ Play
This 2 litre capacity Simpsons water cooler comes complete with an ice cooler to keep those summer beverages chilled.

This is just a novelty item, although you can use it as a water dispenser (it does dispense), I guarantee you won't. As mentioned the rubber fish which floats within the water bottle makes the water taste foul. Also as you are re-using the same bottle (difficult to clean), mould soon starts to gather, especially arounfd the fish.

Repped for the review, seems its not worth £7.99 let alone the original retail price, one of those things that would end up binned, in a charity shop or sold for 50p at a car boot sale to get rid of the clutter.

melted

See the review on amazon - It doesn't cool the water itself, you have to put chilled water in it and the fish goes moldy and adds a nice rubbery taste to the water, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wesco-BS201-Simpsons-Personal-Dispenser/dp/B000F44PQQ

I had one of these. Not even a cooling tower, theres no electronics in it. And that plastic fish in their makes the water taste very chemicaly (if thats a word). I remember almost destroying the tower just to get the fish out, because it made the water taste so bad.

LoveHearts

I've been googling it and there's no ifo about how it keeps the water chilled, theres a fish floating around in the water (included) :-D

What is the Kw rating of this kettle...........must be quite high to boil water this quick..........dont get me wrong, this is a clever way to boil 250ml of water. Anyone got one AND a power watcher thingy to see the power consumption?............edited to say that from feedback on Amazon this can take up to 50 seconds to boil so may not be a high Kw element.

RSteve

Hot. Always thought the Tefal one was pointless as it doesn't do proper boiling water so useless for tea, but if this does proper boiling water it'll be great. The blue illumination will be a from a LED which will use barely any power and certainly the savings you'd make on water would outweigh them unless you never ever put too much water in your kettle.

sheely-wheely

It's not that small .... it sits next to my kettle and is taller than that. Although it does actually take longer than the 4 seconds it claims, it is much faster than any kettle. Would recommend.

Soulreape

Was gonna buy one of these, loved the idea, until I actually saw it in real life, cheap and nasty and small. Ok for your Grans kitchen I guess. Good price though.

And if your having to worry about such things you probably should go back to the stone age. ;-)

Great for a dwarfish get together.

psycho_terror

as mentioned, the water cooler is awful quality, and will probably give you some sort of disease after a while. as for the fridge, for the money they aren't bad, but don't expect a whole lot of space, or for it to last forever. the constant fan noise may also be an issue for you. i went through two of them in about 2 years, and decided to plonk down £100 for a proper mini fridge with a compressor.

gal2792t

Voted cold, no stock in the 18 stores around me. If same in other areas, this should be expired (or made just home delivery)

bossmanuk

Cold cos Samsung fridge freezers are dire.

Bad.Actor

Samsung and LG surprisingly have more than a few negative reviews regards reliability and spares availability along with the usual suspects like Hotpoint, Indesit etc. Bosch, Siemens, Miele and Liebherr are the makes to go for with that sort of cash. Probably not in the American style but I'd be happy with any of these brands. Only started looking into this when my Hotpoint fridge freezer started leaking after 4 years and you can't replace the door seal :x

Janzbro

so does this need a water supply or it it just one of those that you fill up the ice bucket and it dispenses the ice not makes it ???:?

madwelsh

sorry to be a pain, but I'm sure I saw a tv watchdog program about samsung american style fridge freezers, some sort of design fault inherent with them, and loads of people had problems. This maybe a different model, but make sure you do your research folks, 500 quid is plenty of cash matey's.

bossmanuk

If you don't have a water pipe to connect it to you can get this model from currys for £499 with free delivery - http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/288259. It has a Brita filtered water dispenser which you manually fill.

Excellent thanks! rep added and hot vote given.

rosalie

dont even know its there and the water stays cool as long as its turned on. takes a while to cool down when you first start it but after that you just fill it up and its cool before you get to the bottom of it, i am a fussy water drinker its got to be cold i cant drink it room temp even in winter which was my main worry but its lovely temperature :)

RSteve

How noisy is it please? Some other brands have been criticised for being noisy and struggling to make the water cool.

rosalie

its £40.50 with postage and you can get this from amazon for £36 delivered. i bought it just before xmas and its really good. takes a bit to run the water through to start with but after its great. choice of cold or room temp water use it all the time http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000ASB24A/203-9006935-1363906 :) Rosie
