Shpock selling safe ?

Posted 17th Apr 2020
Hello I have sold an item on Shpock of High value around £300 mark. Funds have gone into my Shpock wallet which is telling me it will be released when tracking information shows delivered which is fair enough. I have contacted the buyer to let them know it will be posted on Monday and it has been 48 hours and no response from them.
Is there anything anybody could let me know about selling on Spock as I am new to this and it’s my first sale with all the usual scammers that are about?
Thank you so much in advance for any advise ?

I’ve tried having a one-to-one conversation over the telephone for Spock but I can’t find their number anywhere And it seems like the head office is based in Austria which is crazy

Its similar to paypal holding funds, its happened to me. I sold a few games on there, buyer paid i was informed that i had recieved the money in my wallett but couldnt transfer to bank account until buyer had confirmed item was recieved.

i sent items via tracked delivery, informed the buyer of tracking information. They confirmed items recieved and payment was released which i transfered to my bank.

If you send me there account profile on DM il check them out , been on shpok over 3 years and seen it all so pretty good at spotting a scammer.

If it was me and I’m a long time seeker on a lot of platforms , going off the above information I strongly suggest you do not go any further with the sale and refund them and take the bad review . (edited)

Been selling on this for years. Only deal with cash on collection.

I wouldnt post sold on shpock, its for cash on collection, don't take the risk or you'll end up loosing out 9 times out of 10, shpock promotes itself on being local, just wait till the lockdown is over and sell again

Thank you very much for your input I really appreciate it. The only thing is the item has sold and the money has gone into my Spock wallet which is pending until delivery. I am not sure how to refund so I have tried to build a communication bridge with the buyer just to confirm they are legit but no communication as of yet

If you click help and then cancel deal it will automatically refund the buyer. You communication with the buyer will end when you do this so best to explain in the message box before and offer them to pay via PayPal which is safe & secure.

Bear in mind, if you do this then your account could be blocked perminantly as you have entered into a legal commitment to sell.

That is the problem as I wouldn’t want that to happen as you can imagine getting blocked or suspended isn’t a nice thing

If your in doubt cancel. Whats the seller profile like? Are they new? Good feedback? Are you posting to an address or po box? Look at the address in google maps/streetview. Spend some time researching if you have any doubs. Im only going off my experience. Ive got over 200 positive feedback on mine.

The buyer has zero feedback joined this month. And is a flat in London - obviously the odds are stacking up against them but I have just spoken to the young lady over the telephone as on the details I noticed a number and it seems to be a Brazilian lady who has reassured me I’ve got nothing to worry about

Have you not been scammed on eBay a few times with phones?

Yes I have how did you know that ? As to why I don’t want to get scammed again
It was bank charge backs etc

I would not use shpocks system if the buyer has no/bad reviews. All it takes is for the buyer to say he/she is not happy with the item. For this reason I always cancel the deals and buyer gets refunded. I haven’t had my account suspended or anything and have done it a few times. You can check out Shpock reviews here: uk.trustpilot.com/review/shpock.com

I prefer payment via PayPal or bank transfer. (edited)

i worry about this type of stuff and the way i think about it - document everything. Take photos with item and seller and buyer name on it. Tracked posting.

If I go directly through PayPal using services am I protected if I don't receive and item ? Seen a Nintendo switch on shpock, the user only just joined and has no reviews and has asked to pay direct through paypal
