CCL computers going down the drain

Posted 31st Mar 2023
I had a better image about CCL, but it's seems they follow the trend of ignoring their customers and treating them like garbage.
I ordered a CPU which didn't arrive. I phoned CCL and they confirmed it was to a wrong address. I don't know why this happened but it is either because of their mistake of because of the courier; anyway, it happens.
Normally, any business which respects its customers should take the responsibility and send a replacement. Sadly, it seems that CCL Computers is not that kind of business ...it is more like a garbage-business. Let's hope they will disappear soon from the market.

I ordered RAM from them on ebay and it arrived in 2 days (only ordered late in the day). I also ordered a CPU on Thursday and it arrived by Friday. By contrast i ordered stuff from AWD IT and it took a week.

You get good and bad experiences with every retailer. I still rate Currys as my favourite for customer service yet everyone else seems to hate them. The worst service i've ever received by far is with Amazon.

So a business immediately admitting responsibility for their mistakes and refunding is garbage? This seems perfectly reasonable. It is unfortunate they couldn't refund the difference or offer direct replacement but this does not warrant such anger

And my wasted time and energy to solve this issue ? and the delay for not being able to build a new computer which I can use for my work ? and the fact that I wasted other opportunities on CCL instead of buying from other sellers ?

It seems you don't understand the term "responsibility". If someone comes to me for some work and things do not go well because of myself or my equipment (software/hardware), I MUST make the impossible to finish that work. The other party has deadlines and their own obligations to complete the task in time.

You should be directing your anger at the courier that delivered it to the wrong address

that's nothing to do with the customer, ccl has to chase the courier if they did anything wrong.
They can claim that back and the customer should get a replacement order, really simple.

So did they refuse to refund/replace?

I'll take the money back from them in the end, that's not an issue, but I try to follow some basic principles:
    - I fix the issues created by my business at my expense (even if they are not mine),
    - you fix the issues created by your business at your expense,
...that's how the World should work. It seems some "people" cannot understand these basic rules.

you haven't exactly said or explained what they said, when i presume you asked for a replacement?
did they say we can only refund you?

That's correct. I could place another order, but now the price is higher.
Amazingly, they didn't blame me for their mistake. (edited)

Companies should be called out when they give bad service. Glad to see you have put this on Trustpilot

I used to go in on a Friday when picking my kids up - that was before Covid when they still had a shop counter you could buy stuff at. Now they're purely online and as such no particular reason to pick them over any other online seller. If they're still going then AriaPC might be worth a look.
