Phone recommendations for mum

Posted 10th Jul 2023
As the title suggests. my mums camera has broken on the phone and we will give it to a relative to use just to keep in touch with us
it was a oneplus 7pro which has been a good saviour for about 2 years.

Price range is about 400, i would prefer a flagship or something which is powerful enough to last a few years. Also with the updates and the support from phone providers would be ideal. I dont want to have to worry about space so 128gb or 256gb. she rarely takes it outside the house so battery and 5g isnt as important. second hand is an option but unsure about certain sites for second hand phones. Shes just turned 60 so ideally a large screen and a bright one to help her read her messages clearly

An option we have is giving my s21 ultra and then myself getting the s23 however this should be used as a last resort. can utilise the trade in option but just missed the cashback
Another option was oneplus nord ce 3 lite 5g, cheap, same brand and should be alright
Prefer to buy the phone outright as my sister pays for the sim only and i dont know about any good offers

Havent been on the hunt for a middle-level phone so I dont know what to look out for so which is why I ask the community
Will be scouring the deals tab whilst this is up so apologies

Samsung A34? That's got a decent amount of processing power behind it, as well as 5 Years of security updates being promised. If not that, then I would be looking at the Pixel 7a. Again has a combination of power and 5 years of updates.

Samsung has a 6.6" Screen, Pixel has a 6.1" Screen depending on preference.

im liking the look of the pixel 7a over the a34. well on paper it looks like it is similar to the oneplus 7 with a few differences.
i think i need to take her to ee or a phone shop to look at phones first before doing the tech bit.

thanks for commenting those two hopefully they have them in stock
