Cheap security camera for dog monitoring

Posted 14th Jul 2023
Can anyone suggest a small cheap indoor security camera that I could use to keep an eye on my dogs while I go out, as they are very accident prone!
So something I can just set up when I go up easily, can be watched via a phone and non permanent.
I don't mind a small subscription as I may use them for other things I don't know.
Thanks

Have a tapo tc70 camera. It £23 on Amazon and you can use it with or without subscription. You get notifications and can use it to talk also. Pretty good value for price (edited)

Ooh that looks really good, what app does it use?

We bought a Tapo pan/tilt one for checking in on pets via a phone and it worked really well. Less than £22 on Amazon at the moment with the 5% off code on the product page and well worth it! We didn't need to pay a subscription and it was very easy to use. (edited)

Or for the extra £18, buy the C210, then it will autotrack them around the room, so you can watch all the mayhem and destruction in real time

    Post literally makes zero sense.

A camera on WiFi will use the same amount of bandwidth as a cabled camera.
Are ISPs still selling contracts with data limits?

Why don't you just get a cage for your dog instead, it'll keep them safe and prevent any accidents or incidents. All of my dogs have had cages for their own safety and everyone of them has loved them, I know it may sound unkind but believe me it's much better to have a safe and happy dog then no dog after it's chewed through an electric cable or eaten something poisonous whilst you're out of the house.

I never understood why someone keeps a pet if they aren't able to be with it. I did watch a meme of an owner returning home only to see his dog poke it's head through the front door it had eaten it's way through!

£17.99 fulfilled Amazon Howiray PTZ has all the bells and whistles inc 2-way audio so you can speak to / listen to your dogs,
plus ongoing freebie 7 days rolling Amazon-AWS-based cloud storage if / when you decide to record motion-triggered events.
Local & remote access via Android & IOS devices.
    Search Amazon for
    Howiray Indoor
    or the Amazon ASIN of
    B09VXSJ155
    Currently £19.99 less 10% via on-page checkbox.

Uses VicoHome app but interchangeable with Longplus, Anlife, Dzees etc apps, but the VicoHome option tends to provide the most-generous inclusive features.
No sub needed unless you have an obsession with auto-detecting boxes and other AI buzzword uselessness nonsense.

Same platform has standalone battery-powered outdoor cam options complete with solar recharge panels, often from £30 although around £36 at time of post; search Amazon for
    B0B72SCDWL
    or 2k outdoor solar
    B09VXRHKFP.
Could also use those indoors if you don't want to be tied to the wired power supply typically used by indoor models.
