Fitting a Ring doorbell wired

Posted 25th Aug 2023
The Ring Doorbell Wired model 5AT3T5 is reduced to £49.99 at the moment and as we seem to have a new local problem with car key burglary I thought I would join the Ring gang.

I already have a wired doorbell with a DETA chime (pictured) however it’s not clear from the amazon instructions which wires/connections I need to use the Amazon bypass device with.

The left connections are mains in/out and the right in/out look like cat 6 wires.

Can anyone who is familiar with this advise me please? Thanks

If it’s anything like my Blink doorbell then don’t you just wire the Ring up with the 2 wires (assumed) from the existing outside unit I.e the button you press.

Yes you remove the existing Bell push and swap it for the ring doorbell. You also need to bypass the existing chime though and that is what I cannot figure out from the instructions. Ill add them.
