I did the same . I opted for the highest risk investments which proved not to be so so poor performance.

I signed up when MSE had a £40 cashback for £400 investment. Currently up to £402.46 and expecting the £40 in August. May be worth waiting until another deal like that comes along just to add a bit of a safety net :)

Signed up a couple of weeks ago - nice iOS app but they don't show individual funds unit purchase price, nor the amount of each fund - all you get is a graph, a list of funds but no idea which, if any are making a profit or loss. I'm less than impressed with customer support as they say there is no assurance that this information will be made available, so how can anyone tell which funds to invest in or drop. Also, you have limited choice - Wealthify don't let you select funds - you are 100% at their mercy.

Interesting... Experts, please their in your two pence worth of advise...

£36 for me - not a bad price tho cheers I'd never have checked

Saw this before Christmas in my account. Decided to wait, then it disappeared. Never came back. Definitely account specific. Would leap at it if it came back!

£150 for me and I have 2 cars insured and a life policy.

Good question ... But I believe the 'criteria' is probably nowt?! (if some/any of the above is anything to go with?, lol).

I have both motor and home contents with them but no freebie. I wonder what criteria they use to give the offer.

I was with them 2 years ago and I wondering if they would consider me as new customer?

I had Aviva for about £450 for the year, then they wanted something like £1200 for renewal! That's with me scoring highly on their 'Aviva Drive' app. I had also moved to an area which every insurer gives significantly lower quotes for (I assume because it's considered a lower crime area), had 4 years no claims, no points and I've passed my IAM advanced test. If they had just crept it up by a few quid I might have stayed but that's just ridiculous. Obviously I went elsewhere (< £400 from LV).

I tried Aviva quotes and it was expensive, so had to go with Admiral - who were still expensive for my liking, but better than Aviva. Didn't know of the DriverApp through Aviva, will give that a go closer to renewal to see what it quotes me this time around.

Thank you for getting back, really interesting. On the subject of quidco, presumably you couldn't go through quidco and get the driver app discount as well? I joined aviva a few months back so should give this a go ready for renewal. Wife's insurance is up for renewal so will mention all this to her. Thanks again.

You don’t have to be a customer to have it :) just download it and you have to record 200 miles before you get a score. Best to put your phone in an old fashioned car phone holder as the more stable the phone is the more accurate your driving results will be. I managed to do mine in a week, but that was 120 miles to Hastings and back. Once you’ve done the test your score is valid for one year, so you could even do it 11 months before your renewal. Very easy to use and got my quote instantly. I found I lost stars on one journey I did because I drove in a straight line (stars are given for speed, braking, corners and overall driving) so a little annoyed I lost points for that. If you do the test before buying you just give them your score and they’ll apply it to your quote and give you the discount :)

Aviva Car Insurance - £95 cashback for new customers through TCB

Aviva send renewal price every year, its always more than a new customer quote on their site. For last 3 years i have let my insurance run out for a day, then get the new customer quote AND Topcashback! Never had an issue.

Yes they were very good a couple of years back, the premium wasn't too bad, but the excess way too high - just ran a quote and they want compulsory excess of £500 + £350...

I got a quote two weeks ago from Aviva, then found a £65 cash back offer so resubmitted details - only to find the quote had gone up by more than £65. It seems that the price is always inflated by more than the cash back so you'd be better off getting a direct quote and forgetting TCB/Quidco.

Plus do it weeks before yours expires, if you need the insurance fairly soon the gits will charge you more.

Not for me on home insurance. Tried this at weekend - went direct first, cleared all cookies and then through TCB and quotes were exactly the same. Aviva quote was OK, but I think they wouldn't allow me to have different excessess for buildings and contents

I've just claimed mine now. Didn't have to call anyone, all done online in about 5 minutes!

Thank you. I logged into my account and the offer was there. https://www.direct.aviva.co.uk/MyPortfolio/ When you get to the end, select "Add extended stay cover " and 90 days. That is free for some reason although it is considered as "extra". My total came to £308.17 and it was all free. I did not select any of the extras, which are listed below: Add baggage cover £25 Add winter sports cover £115.99 Add airspace closure cover £47.52 Add travel disruption cover £34.57 Add extended stay cover £045 Days / 60 Days / 90 Days

All they ask “did you receive a email” just say yes..I got mine no problem..also you don’t have to start it on the day I have started mine on the December 17th as we tend to travel to Christmas markets in Europe around that time of year.

they are rubbish don't get any insurance with them. I just bought travel insurance with them this year. I have to cancel my flight for holiday because I cannot go due to health reason. I even got a doctor letter to say so. I submit my claim and they say I need a letter from my airline air Asia to say it is cannot and I did not get anything back. I used two airline an I managed to get one for one airline but not air Aisa as it is their policy not to do that in writing . it is their policy. because of that Aviva did not pay out anything at all to me. that is rubbish but the airline and the insurance company. never use them again for anything.

Aviva drive gave me 28% off. My score was 8.2 as far as I remember.

Re Quidco should I do it on the laptop or will it work/track just as well on iPads?

You can still get cashback as a new car insurance customer. :{ I have had both car and house insurance cashback from Quidco/TCB.

Cashback with Aviva much better than direct line. Really easy and paid within a month. Were the cheapest for my car by a significant distance!

Don't they do a credit check every time you take a quote?

How it works: Commission is paid for getting customers directed to websites and/or make purchases. if quidco offer 5% then they will earn say 8% and pocket the difference, you really think cashback sites are doing it for customers? google make pennies every time you use their search to go to a webpage, just remember with these cashback deals it may be cheaper to go direct to the site rather than via a cashback site Last week we just took out pet insurance £5.60 a month, for the same policy via quidco it was £6.70 a month with £35 cashback

If anyone here is with Aviva, they are giving away tickets to the rugby. Anyone here with Aviva that doesn't want their code? Would really appreciate your code as I am not with Aviva. Please feel free to send me a message. Willing to beg :)

General consensus is that Caffe Nero do the best coffee out of the 'chains',Costa = moderate,Starbucks = worse. Worth ordering an Espresso and giving it a go,or use o2 Priority Moments on Tuesdays if not with Aviva.

Sigh. At least it doesn't involve the infamous tax evading Starbucks.

Who cares? You might when you find that the NHS isn't there for you when you need it - thanks to taxes supposed to be funding it not being paid by companies like Starbucks, Google, Boots etc.. Or when university tuition fees costs rise again for the same reason.

Who cares? Free coffee! hot.

Been getting quotes for around £600 for my new car, these guys offer me £1'230 inc 20% off, haha, I have worked in insurance for years now and it still makes no sense the difference in price from one to another, yes underwriters look at different risks in all areas but c'mon...

When I said “there is no reason to pay more for their car insurance than you would elsewhere”, I thought it obvious that I was referring to comparable cover.

depends what they mean by quality, if it is customer service then yes I would agree. But it could also mean the quality of cover i.e. limits on personal accident, courtesy car as standard, limit on legal cover and etc (not implying any of these are good with Aviva, just giving examples). Quotes can change from excess amount payable, courtesy car, types of courtesy car (like for like or standard), with or without legal cover and etc. Mostly it is just post code lottery and each company have their own data where they calculate your premium. RAC was cheap for me last year, but after i looked a little more it was without legal cover, so I ended up with Aviva. Don't just compare the price, compare the cover as well.

That's true of course. But always worth checking out all the different options and discounts out there out there esp when you're stuck with sky-high quotes as a new driver. From my experience over the last few days of searching, the discount was a major relief to my pocket - thought I would share it ;) Did you guys see that ridiculous 96p record car insurance on moneysavingexpert.com?? It was through getting these discounts and cashbacks that it was possible - amazing.

What's a good quote for one person is not for another. Insurance is a very individual thing as it depends on so many specifics of the person being insured. Deals like this are never usually as good as they seem. It massively depends on your age and what car you drive....

Did this a few weeks ago - worked out over £200 cheaper than my previous insurer including £75 quidco.

Dont think they do, got my renewal from Aviva last week it was 50p more expensive than last year when i got the free contents included.

as usual loyal existing customers miss out.

Quotes for me and parents with that lot were just so expensive, I thought they were taking the pill. As it was, Sainsbury's had £110 Quidco cashback, and Halifax gave £50 to parents, and were alreaedy low quotes, so had buildings and contents for little over £100, in 2 different parts of the country. Don't bank on cashback, just ensure you've got the right cover, at the right price, from a reputable organisation.

Aviva was cheapest for me too this year for 2 cars and house insurance and had quidco on top too

those ads really iritate me!

Oh yes had forgotten about all their customers' money they have splashed out (ie wasted) on that rebranding exercise with those totally naff TV adverts - no wonder they were so expensive for both car & home cover when I checked them last month! :x

Great company, as long as you speak Indian.

Absolutely - why waste years of customer loyalty and branding by changing their name to something that sounds more like a bus company.
